Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 :: Memory - Notification Says Phone Storage Space Is Getting Low
Jul 31, 2010
I have a notification which says the phone storage space is getting low. Any idea how to move anything from the phone memory to the sd? Or how to make downloads go to the sd? The sd is only quarter full.
My mini pro has the low on space icon even if i have uninstalled alot of applications. and i think it is messing up my fone coz now my browser and other apps. get forced closed... pls help me i dnt know wat to do wid my phone...
i just download some applications from the Market then suddenly got warning phone storage getting low. So is there anyway to transfer the files from phone storage to SD storage ??? PLease anyone who knows about it to inform me coz i stuck with this problem.
Had my Samsung Moment for about a month. LOVE IT. Few issues (same as everyone else has noticed), but nothing terrible. Until: Randomly today TWO Notifications popped up that said "Low on space Phone storage space is getting low." One was what seemed to be from the "hardware" and the other was from the "Work Mail" app (which I don't use, haven't used, haven't even opened). When I click it, it takes me to the Manager screen. So, I began uninstalling some apps I don't really use (I didn't have that many anyway...a couple of games [Solitaire, etc], Facebook, Notes). It started running really slowly and random Force Close messages would appear for things like android.process, messaging--things that have never Force Closed before. I turned it off (pressed and held the red button), waited a few seconds, then turned it back on again. Immediately after the "Sprint" logo lights show finished, I got another Force Close message. When the Home Screen showed up, I had the two notifications again "Low on space". When I cleared the notifications, only the "Work Mail" one would clear. I went through and deleted some more apps that I don't use. Got on my computer & Googled the issue. Found a couple of random forums that suggested cleaning out the Cache in the Browser. I did that. Cleaned the History & Cookies in the Browser, too. Then, I did a soft reset (took out the battery). Started it up again, SAME notifications. Less Force Close messages. But, it's running VERY slowly.
After a few hours, I noticed that I hadn't received any text messages or Gmail notifications. I had my sister text me about 2 hours ago. Still have not received it. I really don't want to hard reset. I haven't synced my contacts (I have over 400 & the Sprint store had trouble moving them from my Centro to the Moment) to Google yet, nor have I hooked my Moment up to my Mac yet (the Sprint guys had no idea if it would work or not with Snow Leopard & I hadn't had time to check yet) and I'm worried to try it now that my Moment has gone crazy...I really don't want to lose 400 contacts.I don't download a lot of apps. Most are reputable (Pandora, MotherTED, Shazam, Movies, Jewels). The last one I remember downloading was Google Voice three days ago (which I haven't really used because I've had the flu). I don't know if this is a Malware/Virus issue or if I'm just an idiot & did something wrong. But, it's running REALLY slowly right now. Still not receiving texts or emails (though my Twitter app has notified me of a couple of @ replies).I'm going to call Sprint & Samsung tomorrow, then go to a Sprint tech store if they can't help. But, I'm just hoping one of you have come across this & can help before I have to deal with hours of hold music & techies who tell me to soft reset over & over again.
BTW: After awhile, I finally checked the storage space: External SD care: Total: 1.89; Available: 1.85 Internal: About 2 hours ago when I first checked, after I had deleted a bunch of apps it said I had 7.something MB, now (after not downloading ANYTHING or barely even TOUCHING the damn thing) it says 1.95MB. Which leads me to believe that the 7.whatever was not necessarily accurate.
I have just recieved a notification a few days ago saying the phone storage space is getting low. I don't understand why this notification has come up. I cleared all of the cache from the applications and it still remains. I have a decent amount of apps downloaded but I used to have a lot more downloaded and never had this problem before.
Just got a notification that my phone storage space is getting low..only 6mbs left..and I did see a thread someone mentioned things not getting deleted from memory and I cant seem to free up any space deleting apps or scenes either.
Very confused as I only have 15ish~ Apps from the market installed, auto task killer is killing almost everything to up my battery life, I delete most of my emails..
Im also now experiencing a ton of lock-ups when trying to scroll through things like my application list, sometimes screens, loading the mail app etc..
This just started happening yesterday/today and before that it was running flawlessly.
Got the X8 last week and I am trying to backup the phone but its not reading the memory card "please insert a memory card". Its very frustrating and yesterday it wasn't reading the SIM card, will I have to get the phone replaced?
Since last 4-5 days, I am seeing that whenever I connect my phone to my laptop (using usb), the phone restart and during this time I will have access to memory card for few seconds (30 sec), after that the card gets unmounted (from PC) and I will see a warning symbol (yellow triangle) on phone's notification bar. So i am unable to copy data to and fro from my phone. All this trouble started since I upgraded to 2.1 Note: I have checked the memory card by putting it to another phone and it works fine.
This might just be me being a bit stupid but i've just got myself an x10 and am trying to transfer all my music files from my old handset. They are saved on my SD card an i have put my old SD card into the phone and have found my music files using mediascape... however i don't know how to take them from the SD card an store them on the phones memory so i can put my new&bigger SD card into the phone. Does this make sense?
Any reason why I can't upload pics from phone to PC, even if I insert memory card? It wanted me to install 'media Go' which I did and still no joy. Any sugestions/advice? many thanks in advance, It's probably something simple (like me) lol
i was receiving MMS with photo. anybody can tell me how to save the photo from messeging to phone memory card?? The picture in messeging can be only used for wallpaper n contact picture only. Appreciate your comment..
Recently, after i take picture(s), the screen will prompt me to "Insert Memory Card"... After i off & on and inserted the SD card, take 1 or 2 picture(s), it will prompt me again. Then, watever picture(s) (the latest one) was not saved... I can only view all the old pictures only Next, when i deleted all the pictures in the album, they will still appear again after i off & on the phone... Tried deleted them from the Media Go but still after off & on, they will appear again.
Does it make the phone more laggy? Because I've used about 7GB of my 8GB, and was wondering would it speed up my phone as its become a bit lagggy at time. I was planning to take about 4GB away of music but I really don't want to. Just seeing if it would be worth it?
I have purchaced new sony ericson X10 recently. Can some one suggest me how to remove time space from my desktop. Its covering my photo in desktop. Also tell me me how to disconnect/silent the phone when i get a call.
