Anyone who has the x10 mini could they please tell me what exactly I should be inputting for the correct settings? I have the info off the three.co.uk page & I know where they should be entered on the phone but the info isn't exactly the same (the phone has "proxy" "port" "MMS proxy" "MMS port" which two out of these four should I enter the details from three's website I have tried umpteen times to get it right.
before i begin i just want you to know ive tried to search for a whole day and still hit a dead end.I just bought an X10 for AT&T USA so its x10a. brand new.I already have it unlocked already so im using T-mobile USA.I also have setup my internet access properly via tweakker.com
My question, why can i only use EDGE?! no 3G.when i go to settings the network mode selection cannot be selected.what gives? should i debrand my phone? or root? will it make a difference? or is there a hardware issue here?
I upgraded my Xperia X10 two weeks ago and its working good. The only problem i have is i can't access a 3G network anymore. All the places i used to be able to get 3G reception when i was running 1.6 no longer work. I get G, E and H networks which are all really slow.
Can anyone tell me how to get my SMS settings back to UK. I have been onto Locale/Text but nothing is happening! I have English letters but have Korean symbols to change text to numbers etc. and lost the bar above the letters giving me word suggestions etc. I have switched off, removed battery and sim but still reverts back. Have TP Korean Keyboard icon but cannot remove or manage application.
So after turning off "adjust automatically" about a week ago in the display settings I have noticed a huge battery improvement. My question is what is your brightness set at? 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, full? Just trying to see where most people are with there settings and how the battery has been with it. Right now I'm around 1/4 but wondering if anyone set on about 1/2 or more has noticed battery drainage. Also, will the 2.1 update fix the battery problem?
I enjoyed my wifi internet with X10 when i first installed my wifi router, and as well as my other devices. However, my X10 is not working at all with my home wifi at all anymore, well.. you can imagine that my all other devices are working perfectly. also, I have tested in my parents, in-laws, at work, Mccas or wherever I could test my wifi on X10 works. but not at home.I am just thinking it's maybe the network setup.. or something.. but how come all other devices are working fine? and all my test places have passed?
1.6 ONLY! 2.1 has the options listed below by default. Many University and Business networks use PEAP wireless. Unfortunetly for us x10 users aren't able to connect to these by default. Your instructions on how to connect may tell you to change the EAP type to PEAP which isn't able to be changed in the x10's 1.6 gui. However it is able to be changed with the help of an app.WiFi Advanced Configuration Editor (or WiFiACE) is able to modify these settings for you. I have prepared a step by step guide to help you get connected to your network.
im currently trying to work my new phone but to be honest i dont have a clue, it wont let me go on the net i.e facebook youtube or anything, its saying there is no network connection. Is there somwhere i turn this on or do i need to get settings fron somewhere?
got the x10 linked to my wireless network to do the usual things. I have my pc upstairs and downstairs hard wired but want to be able to listen/stream from either of the two computers to my x10 via wifi. I'm using windows 7. I can see my x10 listed within the router config but other than that can't get any further.
So, There is an issue with my X10. We have a secure (password protected) wireless network at home which is hidden. Now the weird thing is that the x10 doesn't connect to it. When I get a new wireless device, I get the MAC address of the device, and copy it into the wireless manager, so that it's allowed to access the network. Then, i register the same MAC address into the list of machines on the network. Then I set the network to broadcast the SSID, it's still protected, but now everyone can see that it's there. Afterward, I plug the password into the device, and it's connected. Lastly, I stop broadcasting of the SSID, but the machine that was recently added now recognises the network, even though it's hidden. Even after the device has been disconnected, it will still see the network, and be able to connect to it. The weird thing, is that I have done this for all of the wireless devices, even the X10. Everything is fine, until I make the network hidden again. Then, even though the network is saved, it says "out of range".this has only happened with the X10. Does anyone have any insight as to what the problem may be?
I recently went through a process recommended by Sony Support to download latest software update to my X10 (depite the fact that the inbuilt update process repeatedly informed me I had the latest software.) Now when i use the inbuilt procedure od SETTINGS/About Phone/Software update/ Update Now (with the WiFi & mobile networks setting selected) my X10 helpfully tells me "your phone will now search to see if any new sofware is available". After a few seconds it then informs me "Could not update - network error".
I got the X10 2 or 3 weeks ago, previous phone was a Samsung Jet. I watch quite a few films but so far I can't get the quality. The files are mainly divx encoded but I have been converting to mpeg4 to play them in Mediascape. The video is skipping / jumping even though it is not at a super-high resolution, bitrate etc. Does anyone know what the best settings are to get video that's watchable? The Jet would play divx files no problem at all and I assumed the X10 would be at least as good...
I just love my X10 mini but have problems with mms, if I send it just goes to queue and get message "unable to send" and if someone send me one I just get an empty message and it says to download, and then if I try to download it says "cannot be downloaded". When I go to settings - settings download - choose Tmobile it just says could not download settings. Retry? I've called already to Tmobile support and spent 2 hours with them and they just couldn't help me as they don't know this phone.
I'm really struggling with the camera on the x10. I was expecting going from tocca ultra to SE, (both 8.1) to be quite similar in quality, but this ain't the case. Picture is half the size of the screen and pics during night are awful!! Cant even seem to find the flash.
I enabled APN in the settings. But, I want to be able to enable/disable my APN so I can be sure that I'm not getting charged for using the Internet when I'm not. On the top of my screen I see an E with 2 arrows, one pointing up and one pointing down, when I turn my WiFi on this disappears and is replaced by a WiFi icon, and I don't get charged for browsing. But I want to be able to turn APN on and off, I can't uncheck the option for APN which I chose, and the application I downloaded does not work. The icon remains there when I'm not connected to a router even if APN is disabled.
i don't incur the Debt of a Small country!! Can you offer advice on the best settings/ Option to use to kill all Data! Even if the browser is accidently pressed by your kids wanting to play Angry Birds!!
Is it simply to kill the roaming? Or the Data traffic option? Or would you call the carrier to be doubly sure?Still want to be able to use the Wi-Fi as it's free in the Lobby!! Just checked the prices with Orange for Mexico and soaked my monitor with Tea on the prices quoted!8 per Mg of data!!! Pants down prices!!
When I try to make a call, I select a number and it displays "Dialing", then I wait few seconds and it displays "Call ended" and ends the call.No dialing tone or anything. It does it a lot.And people cannot get hold of me as well. Therefore I miss a lot of calls.I tried switching my SIM card to another phone and its better.Anything I can do? SO annoying, damn expensive phone and cannot use it properly.I am on Three network, UK.
