I have a nice dark look going courtesy of sammyycakes and others, the blue spoils it a bit.

HTC Desire :: Option For Changing Colour/rate Of LED Blink Light - When Get A Text

May 14, 2010

I am using handcent for my sms. i think it is great, i can customize it heaps how i want it. however there is an option for changing the colour/rate of the LED blink light for when i get a text, however no matter what i pick it never changes. the little light at the top always blinks every 4-5 seconds in a green colour when i have a new message, however i would love for it to blink blue every second (as i have tried to set it) so that i can differentiate the notifications from reminders and other notifications. is this a problem with the phone not doing wat it is supposed to, or the application isnt working? or a combination, maybe the desire doesnt have any other colours for its LED light?

Samsung I7500 :: Changing MNC In Settings Makes Whole APN To Disappear

Jan 27, 2010

I just updated to Galaxhero and I love it except one quite big and annoying problem with internet connection. Problem occurs when I try to set up the APN for my service provider. I have to change the MNC from 05 to 21. So I did put all the settings in and pressed save. What happens I found out the whole APN is gone.

Played around a bit with it, and noticed that if I touch to MNC setting and change it to other than 05, it causes that very APN to disappear from APN list. Is there any way to fix this? Somehow maybe modifying the "default" MNC to 21 if there's no fix for the disappearing one? Sad thing is that I don't have 3g without it.

Samsung I7500 :: Samsung I7500 - Low Middle Or High-end Android Smartphone

Jan 23, 2010

The Samsung i7500 Galaxy is, except the support from Samsung itself, a great Android smartphone with a very good (the best?) price for value. It's with 11,9mm the second slimmest Android phone after Nexus One with 11,5mm (right?) and has unlike the HTC phones a flash light and build in storage of 8GB. On most sites the Galaxy is (one of) the cheapest Android phones, I wonder if it's because Samsung is cheaper or HTC/Motorola more expensive by itself?

I personally would compare the i7500 with the HTC Hero, although in my opinion the i7500 still has a much better price for value.

Is it even possible to define if and which Android phone is a low, middle, or high-end smartphone?
Sure, it also depends for what purposes you bought and use your phone, but I still wonder were the i7500 would be if 1=low and 10=high end Android phone, and if there even is a number 10? I also think that the D-Pad is a big plus and not a minus in comparison to the scroll ball from HTC.

General :: Galaxy Nexus - Changing Settings Menu Options

Jan 5, 2013

I'm running a Galaxy Nexus, and the ROM I'm currently on has a performance option in the Settings Menu, which gives control of the kernel and stuff. However, I'd rather use TricksterMod, and I would like to be able to launch TricksterMod from Settings instead of the Performance app.

So far, I've decompiled my Settings.apk, and looked through the files, and I'm not sure what to change.

I have to change settings esxmlsettings_headers.xml, correct? Specifically,

Code:
header android:icon="@drawable/ic_settings_performance" android:id="@id/performance_settings" android:title="@string/performance_settings_title" android:fragment="com.android.settings.performance.PerformanceSettings" />

I would also have to change settings esvaluesstrings.xml, specifically, the string referenced by "@string/performance_settings_title" so that I can have the correct name, correct?

And similarly, settings esdrawable, for the icon.

The big question is, what do I replace with for "com.android.settings.performance.PerformanceSetti ngs"? Do I need to move TricksterMod somewhere specific, or what would I reference? dataappcom.bigeyes0x0.trickstermod-1.apk?

After making all these changes, I'd simply recompile and push the Settings.apk back without signing, correct? Have I missed any steps?

Samsung I7500 :: Confused Between I5700 & I7500

Mar 18, 2010

Sorry if this thread seems inconsequential but I have been rendering myselves sleepless nights over the past couple of days ( and nights ) due to my inability to choose between the above two said android phones. I like the i5700 for its zippy 800 MHz processor and that its got the 2.1 update. I like the i7500 for its 5 MP camera and flash + a larger screen to play with I would have gone in for the i7500 but have been hearing about Samsung deciding against not updating it to version 2.1 which can off course be done taking the un-official channel. Moreover the 528 Mhz processor is certainly lagging.

But still I see people in here Going after the i7500 .... Adding to it there is more threads and discussions going around on the i7500 as compared to the i5700. Am I missing something in the i7500 or is it just that i am a stupid newbie ... I have gone through many many pages of information on this thread before posting this query.

HTC Hero :: Which Colour To Select And Why?

Feb 15, 2010

I am finally about to pull the trigger on a SIM free Hero. I have an Orange contract, but I have read bad things about not being able to root the Orange phones due to changed unlock keys. I am also only halfway through my contract so SIM free is the only way to go for now. This brings me to a tough decision... which colour should I go for ?
White - does it really not get dirty ?
Mocha Brown
Black
Pink - no thanks, not for me
Graphite - not seen SIM free anywhere

I think I like the brown, but haven't seen one in the flesh. I am worried that the white one looks a bit too, Apple. Which did you go for, and why?

HTC Desire :: Which One Is Best To Get / Graphite Or Black Colour?

Jun 11, 2010

The HTC Desire has been the first phone in a pretty long time to get me excited and make me think "I want one!" Doing research just adds to that statement! But I still have one dilemma preventing me from buying currently: what colour to get?! I know, it's something completely basic and non-technical, but could mean a great deal. The main colour is named 'Graphite', known as brown/bronze and many more variations! What exactly is this colour? It intrigues me, looking on the internet, it can look purple, brown, grey, black! This is obviously the most common of the Desires and can be picked up unbranded, with original firmware, etc.

Another option is a black HTC Desire. I gather the black, which I feel I like best, is an Orange-exclusive. Over-branding on their part, but I see black non-branded HTC battery covers are coming out soon, so not a biggie. Further, their over-excessive branded firmware can removed and have it clean clean. Finally is the recently-released Silver variation, 'limited-edition' as they said on eXpansys, but I believe this is a common colour in Holland. Looks nice, but the extra price tag seems a sort of over-kill - probably not worth it. Let me know your opinions on any of this and help me decide. Particularly your thoughts on the standard HTC Desire 'graphite' colour! And I have seen some people switch from the graphite to the black versions - again, let me know which one you like best!
