I'm trying to download .cbz and .cbr files from hotfile.com and I keep getting the message that these file formats are not supported by the phone. I also downloaded a comics viewer (ACV) and there should be a setting that enables .cbr support, but I can't find it. ACV opens .cbz files by default however. What's going on? Some help would be appreciated.
Samsung Galaxy Proclaim/Illusion. I decided I'd root my phone. After that was all said and done, I started up the phone and got a message, "unable to charge non supported battery see user manual." I never had any problems with this new battery, an Acesoft 1800 mAh that I've had for about a 1.5 months. I bought this battery because my old Samsung battery got fried. (I took it out and dropped it into water...)
I just purchased a Samsung battery off of amazon for $10, hoping that it'll come and fix all this.
I wanted better battery life, a faster phone, etc... None of that is useful if I can't charge my battery.
I've been stunned by how different Samsung's camera behaves compared to the other devices I've tested camera preview stuff with.
Mind you, this is in 2.1 so the SDK 8 Camera.getZoomRatios() and Camera.isZooomSupported() are not available.
Looking at the Camera.getParameters().flatten() result shows that the common "zoom-supported" that I see in HTC, N1, and Mototrolla devices is not there.
Instead there's something called "digi-zoom". I couldnt find any documentation or posts about its usage but a little experimenting revealed it takes numerals 1..10 as string and will zoom accordingly. I have no idea what the ratios would be.
Also, there's some madness with the flash mode on the Galaxy S Epic that I have tested with.
Calls to getSupportedFlashModes() return only auto,on,off. There is no torch supported.
However, if you do params.setFlashMode(Camera.Parameters.FLASH_MODE_TORCH) it will turn the LED on!
Sadly, subsequently setting it to FLASH_MODE_OFF or FLASH_MODE_AUTO does not turn the LED off! It's stuck on until Camera.release(), or maybe Camera.stopPreview(), I havent traced into it yet to see which actually turns it off.
I suppose that's why Samsung doesnt return torch in the supported list. I'd prefer not to have to stop and restart the preview to turn it off for this model.
I'm sorry if there have been numerous posts about this but i couldnt find one with my specific problem.I tried connecting my galaxy s to Kies for the first time ever. I just installed Kies but whenever i connect my phone Kies tells me "This Device Is Not Supported By Kies" I've restarted my Phone and Computer. I've tried running it in USB Debugging mode and got nothing. Its extremely frustrating.if you have any questions about my problem feel free to ask and I'll gladly answer.
I've got the Galaxy phone thru my operator in Serbia, Telenor (Telenor: Products and services / eShop / Phones / Mobile phones)
I tried to use the New PC Studio in order transfer my contacts to this new phone, but realized that it's an impossible task to do... a huge disappointment.
Anyways, after countless hours of trying to put my PC and Samsung Galaxy to work together, I finally succeeded in installing the latest version of PC Studio as instructed on this website, in order to be able to upgrade the firmware (my battery currently runs out quickly, the phone restarts or turns off with full battery once in a while, etc.)
However, although PC Studio now recognizes my phone, when I try to do the update, I get the following error message:
This device is not supported. The device you have selected does not support software upgrade.
I am trying to add some updates to an already released application but something has happened with my workspace that prevents me from Running or Exporting the application. I keep getting the following code...
You think it would be an easy fix but I looked into the HDPI drawables folder and there were no doubles. I even went as far as to delete the entire folder and the error still appears. Anyone got any clever ideas?

Is there any way to save a text message thread? I have an ongoing thread with around 64 messages back and forth. Seems like you should be able to send it as an email or something but I don't see it anywhere. Surely there's a way.
I have a file from a free Android app that holds a list of URLs in a separate file that the app reads. I wanted to get the list of URLs, but I don't know how to open the file.URL....Trying in wordpad or such just shows it's all encrypted in some manner.
For some reason, in my LwW Wt19 (Gingerbeard 2.3.4), the default Dialer (phonebook?) only keeps 30 days of recent calls, but others aplications (for example Go Contacts Ex, ExDialer) let me watch all calls I have ever done. So it makes me think that the problem is the default dialer.
How to increase call log archive to longer than 30 days?
Now, it is the holder of the smartphone HTC One (you know, no SD card slot), and from the beginning there is a problem with the function called "Protected archive". If you try to select it and other miscellaneous copy is returned in dyku message "Sorry, the operation failed".
HTC is ROOT, S-Off. I use a ROM called "ViperOne v1.1.1," but on other ROMs is the same problem.
Changing the backup directory in the preferences of the Titanium Backup does not work. I tried the method described here: [URL]... but it also does not give the result and does not change the situation.
Other features TitaniumBackup working properly, except for the protection of files: (((
What to do to be able to protect (selected) copies of the program TitaniumBackupPRO? I do not have the support to count - they do not write off
I put two projects into Eclipse, called Project1 and Project2.Project1 is independent, but Project2 must be dependent to Project1.When I build the Project2, the error msg comes like this: Error generating final archive: duplicate entry: AndroidManifest.xml
I am using ZipInputStream and BufferedOutputStream to decompress a file from a zip archive in Android 1.6. The code runs without exceptions, but when I check the existance of the file, I can't find it. I am just looking for the filename. Is there an application directory that stores this file? Do I need to specify a directory?
"swipe to archive/delete in notifications" function in Gmail 4.3? Specifically, not being able to?
After upgrading to Gmail 4.3 on both of my devices (TF101 running Team EOS 4, and One S running LiquidSmooth 2.1), I had the ability to archive/delete from notifications. However, I noticed that this function was missing yesterday; it's gone back simply to "swipe to dismiss".
When connecting my Galaxy-S to the Samsung Kies software, my telephone shows up with an incorrect telephone number. I did change the sim-card (and subsequent number) since first using it, but I never logged intio Kies with the old sim-card.The phone is rooted. How do I get Kies (or my Samsung phone) to show my current telephone number? In the phone properties (Menu, Settings, About, Status) the same wrong number is shown. When calling, the receiver sees the correct telephone number. So the issue is not operator related but telephone related.
Samsung should stop promoting the Galaxy Tab and fix the Galaxy S phones.Tab is running 2.2 and most likely has a fixed GPS.While the rest of us who paid for a product still have not gotten our money's worth.
I have configured my Samsung Galaxy S using my normal Gmail account. This has helped me to sync the Google Contacts with my phone.
Following are my questions:
1. Right now I have about a thousand google contacts synced to my phone. I want to remove them at one go. I know how to disable them from being appearing in contact list, but I want to know if I can delete them without going to factory settings.
2. I am using three applications (a) Gmail (b) Contacts (3) MVOIP. I want to know if there is a way that following combination works: a- Google contacts appear on Gmail app b- Google contacts (with phone numbers) and normal phone contacts appear on "Contacts" c- Google contacts (with phone numbers) and normal phone contacts appear on "MVOIP application".
I know how to do
(a) - By synchronising google contacts, (b) - by choosing display options (c) - I do not know how to handle this and I want help.
