I am so use to my Touch Pro 1 & 2 as far as saving everything to my SD card. Why am I not able to save applications and other documents to my sd card on android? My phone is extremely slow now, force closes often and the battery dies every 15 min. Is there any way to save apps to the sd card?
I finally got my fone fixed and i deleted diner dash2 and telenav and amazonmp3 immediatly after i rooted the behold 2 , but now i would like to know how to run apps from my sd card ? i figured out how to get them there but. Now what? i cant install terminal emulator either. i want to do it this way so i do not use up the space on the fone. For some reason i think it will start going slow again if i dont. any advice on what your setups are? what have you safely removed? is it ok to remove MyFavs? how about the cube? is there anything todo to speed it up a lil? or make it so it doesnt slow down at all?
Looking at all the pros and cons from froyo got me wondering, how important is it to put the apps on the memory card? I was actually curious about saving some items in the phones internal memory, ie movies, etc.
I guess milestone is indeed a great device until i experience the problem of memory shortage for applications in the phone internal memory. is there any way to save the apps in the memory card instead?if not, i think i might sell this phone and get another really wish i do not have to do that.
I did a few searches and couldn't find anything, so I decided to be lazy and start a new post on this. Has anyone found an application that will move all applications to the SD card to save phone space and speed everything else up?
I search around and did not find a thread on my subject? But for the love of me and can not find where it gives you the option to Check off box, to save to SD card? I thought it was when you were on the web? Can you please let me know where is located, also do you all think is necessary to have that checked on for when apps are added to the phone?
There is a stock ringtone on the Samsung Moment that I've been searching high and low for. I believe it is called "Samsung". Is there any way someone could pm me or post the ringer? I loved that ringer on the Moment but I cudnt figure out how to save it on my card.
Can't figure this one out. I have an SD card in the phone and pics loaded on it from my computer. No problem there. PROBLEM: The pics I take WITH the phone camera just go somewhere IN the phone - NOT to my SD card. I can't find any option in the pics to "save to SD card" or anything like that. I had the phone updated the other day and it wiped all the pics I had taken with the phone - but not the SD ones. Now I have more photos and no way to save them to the SD card?
I bought an Android phone a couple of months ago, a Samsung Galaxy S, and it's been nothing but frustration. There's dozens of problems with the software/firmware and I was lied to by the network I bought it from. That and any attempt to buy a memory card for it yields a fake.I bought it to replace an aging old phone, and also to be an MP3 player.Allshare doesn't work. It will stream videos, but if I want to use to stream music it crashes each and every time without fail. It's as bad now as it was when I got it.It only has 16GB of memory, so it can't as it stands replace my MP3 player, I'll get a 32GB memory card for it sooner or later, and that will replace my 30GB MP3 player.I've tried 3 apps for playing music on it, the default one, Museek, and MixZing. They're all awful, and not designed with the way I play my files in mind. I sort them by file structure Artist/Album/files and I navigate to the files and expect to be able to play all. All three of those music players seem to want to use playlists. Are there any good music players I could get instead of them? I managed to delete all the MP3s on the phone half an hour ago when I tried to get the default music player to do anything like what I was trying to tell it.
I have a server set up in the house using Windows Home Server which has all the storage for the house on it. It can serve music pretty well - my main PC streams from it flawlessly with Foobar. My Android phone seems to have no way at all to do it short of Allshare, which is crap. I'm not interested in streaming it through Windows Media Player 12 which is what I'm forced to do with Allshare. If I could point the phone at a networked directory then that'd be fine... assuming there's a music player out there that actually works.Add to that the sheer stupidity of google calendar having no way to default to gmail calendar rather than the internal one on the phone, and no fix months later.I was going to have a bath tonight, and I thought I'd try again to get music working on the phone across the network. It's now 2 fucking hours later and I'm no further forward. The bath is cold though.
i have often experienced this issue. after dialing any phone number and trying to save that number from call log to existing contact it is not working. Means, it tries to open the contact but giving error. did any one has experienced this issue and like to hear your views or corrective measures.
coming from a BB Curve, you can email yourself ring tones or email them to a friend from your device. I tried to email myself a ring tone on my Fascinate and it comes through, gives you the option to preview it, but no option to save it to the sd card. Does anyone know how to do this? I ask because I have friends that swap ring tones around and it is now impossible to do this for me.
I'm new to the forums. Just got a Samsung Moment and love it. Just switched from ATT to Sprint. I was wondering if anyone can help me out. I want to be able to either save a text thread or be able to save them on the memory card to back them up. I have a single text thread that I need to keep that has over 400 texts in it. I would like to be able to forward them to my email address or put them on the memory card and save them.
I am unsing KIES to save my Calendar and Contacts data on my P C to backup this data. But this does not work with my Memos and my Messages (SMS). Does anybody know why? Probably my Memos and my messages are not saved on the mobile phone but on the sim card?
I am very new to "Smartphones" and have just gotten a Samsung Galaxy S. Wondering if someone can advise me how do I turn off an application when I start it. For example if I start ThinkFree Office there is no option that I can find to turn it off.
All the specs posted on the blogs say the galaxy phones are "expandable to 32GB". Does this mean you can add 16GB card to get a total of 32GB, or that you can add 32GB for a total of 48GB? The way it's been worded on all the sites I get the impression that the max SD card you can put in is 16GB but that seems silly. Can anyone confirm? I'm looking at the US versions, most likely the AT&T Captivate.
Well for me Android really fell off the edge of a cliff in the last 6mts as a "single platform across all devices". Anyway whilst we whinge in other threads and some kind souls try and fix it I thought might be good to have a thread for Apps which DO work well in Android after all wherever we are or aren't in the development curve the user experience can be really transformed by a neat App. As well as the old favorites I came across recently: [1.5/K4] Speaker Shake really neat you pick up the phone shake it and it answers a call with the speaker phone on Dolphin Browser - haven't succeed out the really neat gesture controls yet but do like how it downloads you tubes no prob for viewing when off line.
I've been using JPA/JPP/JP4 with voodoo lagfix 5 pre6 for a few days now, and it's been working great... except for one thing. There is no lag while opening applications and stuff, but there is some stuttering while scrolling left/right on home screen, or up/down in menu... it's hardly noticeable, but still annoys me. Quadrant is giving me the same results as when i first flashed voodoo. Noticed one thing also, when i scroll down my notification bar it just doesn't drop as smooth as it was before, but just hangs at some point and then continues. I really can notice even a slightest change in performance, and i read that using voodoo wont cause any performance degradation. Should i reflash my stock kernel and flash voodoo snapshot?

Just wondering I have the above phone, and ever since I bought it, I cant seem to configure my personal hotspot SSID and passcode, without it defaulting back to AndroidAP and default passcode I enter in my desired SSID and passode, click save, and if I go to conect on laptop it will come up ok, but only that one time. If I literally go straight back into the configuration of wifi hotspot, it has defaulted back to AndroidAP
On my 2nd Android phone now, as I've just upgraded to a Samsung Galaxy S from my previous HTC Hero. Love the Galaxy S to bits, but was wondering what I do about some of the old apps on my old phone? Like World War for example, is there anyway of continuing the account on the new phone? Or do I have to start a new game?
Also, the HTC had a really good weather widget where it used to auto update with weather about the location you were currently at. I think it was a HTC thing, as I can't find anything that does the same as this for the Samsung, you can only store certain locations.
I'm a newbie on smartfones and had spent a few days adding useful apps to my Galaxy S. File management and, file transfer applications to wireless link to my laptop followed by the transfer of all my work presentations (powerpoint) and lecture notes. All worked fine until today. Now, my device seems to have lost all the downloaded and installed apps (leaving gaps on the desktop). It has also discarded the image I had chosen for my screen background, and I can't see an icon to go to the Android store. Finally: on one of the screens I have the message "Problem loading widget". That might be connected to the problem that Android Market has completely disappeared. How do I get that back!! It's important. My transferred files are still sitting in folders in DCIM so that's good. but none of the special applications are visible. Can someone give an opinion on this. Has something taken place online with Samsung that has put my system back to its out-of-box state.
