The Samsung Galaxy S has just received the honor of being the first Android phone to be certified by DivX for HD video playback. You now have the official blessing from DivX to load up your (legal) 720p video files on your Galaxy S phone and enjoy your media on the go.With the phones DLNA and microUSB connections you will also be able to sync up with other DivX certified devices and enjoy your videos on your large screen TV. Currently, the only other phone to receive certification from DivX for HD playback is Bada powered Samsung Wave. With developers pushing out more Android handsets with larger screens, we should expect to see DivX handing out more HD certifications over the next few months.
i notice when i try to use my phone's "flash player capabilities" that it works like chit. for instance, it won't play videos streamed on justin.tv. and today i tried to go to kings of leon's website so i could listen to their new album from my phone (Kings of Leon | Come Around Sundown) but it failed to work again. i can see all the songs, click on the buttons, even track forward in the songs, but NO SOUND and the songs remain on pause and won't play. is there an update or some kind of APP i can install to where i can actually get some benefit from the flash player.
I was directed here by the Google Android Devs Group. I'm still not sure if this is the place I need to be. I've been on forum after forum and asked the same question but no one seems to know the answer or will tell me the REAL correct place to find it. I have a Samsung Moment with Android 2.1. I can not get videos that DID play on Android 1.5 to play on 2.1 now with very few exceptions. I'm not just talking about different videos with the same format, I'm talking about some of the exact same videos that did play in 1.5 will no longer play in 2.1. These are almost all AVI files. If Android doesn't support AVI natively with it's own stock media player then why or how was I able to play these videos flawlessly on 1.5? The way I always played the videos was viewing my SD card, tapping the thumbnail of the video I wanted, and it would automatically open up in the phones media player right away. Now the phone locks up and then eventually gives an error message.
I am using the dolphin browser to connect to the internet. when I watch videos IE. you tube it lags pretty bad. Is there a way to get it to play videos more smoothly? I have a 3g connection. Is this normal for android phones?
I've been trying to stream videos on my phone--not Youtube, and I just can't get the pages to load. I've been trying to watch stuff on ATDHE.net using Dolphin browser HD. Can the evo not load content on this site, or is it the browser?
I am using Galaxy S i9000 for over a month now and have noticed that videos getting automatically deleted from the phone. This has been happening for quite sometime now, earlier thought it might be overwritten while transferring but there on always made sure that the data is copied by browsing phone as a mass storage.
I'm considering getting me one of the sexy Galaxies, but have been wondering if it is possible to play videos (of any type and quality) with soft subtitle, such as .srt, .txt, .sub, or any other subtitle that is not hard-coded on the video. Or can closed captioned m4v or mkv videos be played with soft subtitle on Galaxy? That would be great if anyone knows how to do so or those already doing so can share us the how-to.
How do you play Flash games on this phone? For example, Game Bubble Struggle 2: Rebubbled - Games | Rebubbled loads up and I see the startup screen and all, but I can't click/see any way that I can use arrow keys to operate the game. Is it just not possible, or is there another way/will it be possible?
Problem is, any page on the BBC News website containing a Flash movie crashes the stock browser . So, while this and this are OK. This, this and even the mobile help page crash the browser (links included for you to try ). No force close, the browser just vanishes and I get returns me to the phone home screen.
I've cleared the cache and cookies and even restarted the phone to no avail (and no, I'm not doing a hard reset ).
iPlayer pages are OK as is YouTube.
Is this a BBC problem? Is anyone else having the same issue or is it just me?
I have Nook Color with CyanogenMod 7.2. I have tried tons of web browsers: Opera Mini, Dolphin HD, Firefox, Browser (native browser), Maxthon, Skyfire, and Puffin Free. None could stream (flash) videos. They either weren't able to do it at all, or did it with lots of stuttering. What is the best way to play flash videos in web pages?
I've searched both my card and phone memory to try and copy some videos from it to my PC, but I can't even find which folder is storing them?! I've checked all the video/movies named folders but nothing there..
Since I updated to Froyo when the official one was released for the UK my Gallery has been almost useless, it now sorts photos based on where they were taken which I don't want and it doesn't show any new photos/videos I take, possibly because the phone saves them to the external SD card now instead of the internal one. Is there anyway to fix this? I've looked everywhere for some gallery settings but I can't find anything, to change the sorting etc.. Or can anyone recommend a half decent gallery app? I just want something that shows the recent photos I've taken...
I have a Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3, with a 64GB Micro SD card. I would like to play back videos I have stored on my SD card; however none of the videoplayers I've tried will do it - they all say the file cannot be played. The videos all play fine when stored locally, so I know there is no issue with the files themselves or the transfer process of getting them onto the SD card. Currently, if I want to watch a video, I have to use the My Files app to navigate to the file on the SD card and move it to the internal storage. This works, but its clunky and not very nice. Is this a bug feature of 4.2.2, or of my handset in general?
I know Flash 10.1 is technically a browser plugin but has anyone figured out a way to play .FLV files (offline)? Tried opening a .FLV file through Estrongs and then selecting the video option but it would not play
I own HTC Desire (Bravo). I rooted my phone year ago or so, tried different ROMs etc. I dont remember when exactly, but my Google play store is loading pages really slow. I am not in US, I doubt its carrier based issue..
Currently I'm using CM..I think its 8 or 9, not sure of the version because recently my ROM manager app stopped working. (Will try to reinstall it when I get calm enough to open Google Play Store again )
On the startup it says CM 7 (mod) but I think it does so for all versions. I flashed CM using clockwork mod.
To solve issue I've tried clearing cash/data but it didn't work . Btw I use wi-fi mostly, but issue is the same whether I use mine or some other wi-fi.
I tried to play the files but none of them work except for a couple that is in mp4 format. The rest is in divx. Divx is one if thee supported format for the captivate, but it doesn't work.I downloaded the videos from here: ( Super amoled videos)
