When connecting my Galaxy-S to the Samsung Kies software, my telephone shows up with an incorrect telephone number. I did change the sim-card (and subsequent number) since first using it, but I never logged intio Kies with the old sim-card.The phone is rooted. How do I get Kies (or my Samsung phone) to show my current telephone number? In the phone properties (Menu, Settings, About, Status) the same wrong number is shown. When calling, the receiver sees the correct telephone number. So the issue is not operator related but telephone related.
And it looks as there is no front facing camera on this one either. this blows dogs for quarters man. Bottom buttons are different & They also removed the "with Google" branding on the back. I hope this render is not the final t-mobile device. I was really looking forward to a FFC.
I quickly glanced at those forums, but didn't spend a whole lot of time reading. It seems some people had issues with defective phones that needed replacing, sometimes multiple times. I don't see that as ultimately a problem with the phone though, such as a design flaw that can't be fixed without more R&D.From time to time I see people posting something along the lines of "I'll never buy another Samsung product again" due to lack of support issues, or whatever, on some of the newer phone models. Personally, I had an i730 and it was the best phone you could get during its time.Has anyone closely followed what the AT&T and T Mobile Galaxy S owners are saying? The main gripe I've heard is that there's a GPS software issue for some users, but there's supposed to be a workaround, and supposedly a fix in an update.
I am a little more than one year into my two year contract on T-Mobile with my aging G1. T-Mobile says I can get the Vibrant (Galaxy S) ("plus upgrade fee").I desperately want a faster CPU and a true Android 2.x phone, but I don't know. I almost feel like paying the early termination fee and going for an EVO with Sprint.Seems every option has downsides... * I've heard Samsung build quality is not the best, and the Galaxy S looks a bit too much like an old iPhone * The EVO is supposed to not have great battery life * AT&T cripples their Android devices * Verizon has the highest monthly fees
Got my new Samsung Galaxy S today and have been trying to get all the contacts from my T-mobile G2 Touch onto it. I have previously used VcardIo to do this with no problems. However when I take the file into the Galaxy S it shows as being 0 k. Though it is on on the G2. I have tried various programs on Market but the all seem to do the same.
At 47 seconds, he pulls down a menu with "T-Mobile D" written on it. This is from the, which I thought only had the Galaxy on O2. Is this a slip? Or am I mistaken.http://magic.sc-streaming.com/player/shell.asp?campaignID=381_4838
I have a strange problem with my Galaxy S. I have unlimited mobile internet(3G), but not all Apps work. For example when I am on the mobile internet network, de standard Internet browser does not work. It just displays a white page whatever I'm trying to load.Other programs say there is no internet connection avaible or just don't respond. However there are 2 programs that d work. Opera Mini and eBuddy can work with Wi-Fi and 3G. Other Apps like to check if it's gonna rain, or a News RSS viewer etcetera does not work. They only do with Wi-Fi.I have no clue what to search for and also no idea if it's my mobile phone or my provider(it's named 'Hi', it's dutch).
I'm a complete newbie to all things android and mobile internet so please help and humor me.Just got my galaxy s yesterday-absolutely fantastic phone, really pleased with it.Two perhaps dumb questions if anyone can help please?
1. How do you tell if you are using your wifi connection or connecting through your mobile internet?
2. Is there a way of choosing which one you want to use? Any help will be greatly appreciated thanks
This was working until today on wife's phone. Now it just says mobile data state disconnected. All shes done is installed a load of new apps.Is it possible that a bad app can screw the mobile data connection? Or could it be faulty phone? Tried the sim in another phone and data works fine so its not the network or sim.
I keep trying to add my exchange account to my phone but its not working. Keeps returning an error message saying Unable to open connection to server..seeing as I am not a phone, computer guru..and add the fact that I am female...I have no idea what to do next...anyone know what is wrong..what I should do..what I am doing wrong
I can't get a fully functioning data connection on my Galaxy S through my current SIM card. I can browse with Opera (which doesn't seem to care what the APN settings are) but nothing else works, (unless I get a wifi connection, which works fine). The problem may or may not disappear when I move countries soon (to Indonesia) but I'd like to understand what's going on.
I bought it in Singapore - it's got a SingTel setup (sticker on the back, boot screen, links on home) but it's supposed to be unlocked (and SingTel say they sell them unlocked too). A guy at the Samsung service center in Singapore said it was "locked" for other countries though because they don't yet have the Galaxy S - but once phone companies have the right settings for the phone it should be fine. I used it with a different Singapore phone company (StarHub) with a data plan for a couple of days that worked fine. I browsed and used the Google Maps app, no problem.
Then the problem. I came to Malaysia a week ago and bought a Maxis SIM card. At their service center they entered the APN settings (they already sell the Galaxy S), and the internet worked when I tested it on a few pages. 30 min later I tried again and got nothing, and it didn't come back. I returned to the service center, they made small changes to the settings, and it worked again... for a few minutes only. Then I discovered that I can browse in Opera - even if I use dummy APN settings (random numbers in one field and everything else blank or default).
However after I restarted the phone again, I couldn't repeat the success. I stopped unneeded apps, I uninstalled NimBuzz, I tried restarting over and over... but I get no connection other than with Opera. I've tried other internet apps (Maps, sync in GTasks, OkCupid, NimBuzz) and none work. Any clues as to what's going on?
Great news, someone confirmed that web2go unlimited data works with the new Galaxy S Vibrant T-mobile Android phone. Grandfathered T-Zones Data: Discuss All Related Questions Here ONLY Before this, only our Behold 2 allowed this (nexus one does too, but not considered tmo branded). For many, this was only reason we stuck with behold 2.
Any ideas how long it will take CW to do the Galaxy S on T-mobile. Went in yesterday to see them about it but its not available yet. Would quite like to wait till they have it as it will be unlocked however if its likely to be a while I will just get it from t-mobile I think.
Per engadget, Android phones and their eternal struggle to get the latest version update, it's a book that needs to be written. It was only last night that we were hearing that the Froyo upgrade for Spanish Galaxy S users would be pushed back till late October, yet today our emotions are swung back the other way by news of T-Mobile promising the exact same update by the end of this month. If our solar calendars are accurate, that means there'll be no more than a 10-day wait left for T-Mo customers using this 4-incher. We'll bug the other networks as well to see whether their 2.2 updates are in the mail or still lost somewhere in the frozen isle.
All incoming phone calls are being automatically answered. I went to Settings>Language and Input; however, I don't see the Voice CMD for Apps option. I also want to note that this is not voice activated answering - it is just auto answering. I am not using a headset and the option for auto answering with a headset is off.
I am from Italy and own a samsung i9000 s.bought from a wind shop ( but unlocked to all networks ). When I enter Kies and try to do an update it says that I already have the latest version. I checked and mine is Eclair 2.1 . was wondering if anybody know if WIND have the release of froyo 2.2 available on their network. I am moving my number to TIM mobile operator tomorrow anyway. Maybe some ideeas on that? I would really really like to upgrade as I have heard that Froyo really works alot better on sgs . Really now but for a phone that I have paied 550 euros I expect no lag and better start time of apps...and well alot of stuff. If that doesn't happent I'll just ask for my money back and go for the Iphone 4. not really what I want but my Iphone 3gs was performing better than this newer faster ( 1ghz..and 512 ram ) Samsung Galaxy S. SO PLEASE do cooment and let me know about what you think.
I've recently updated my Samsung Galaxy S4 to android 4.4.2 kitkat. Since then I've been unable to connect to the internet through mobile data. It can be activated/deactivated, but when activated I cannot connect to any websites.
Im looking for a way to leave my mobile data on, BUT only giving access to apps that i choose. For example, Mobile data should be on, but i want ONLY Whatsapp or BBM to connect to the mobile network. Is there an app that lets you do this? or settings somewhere.
How is it I had the kind of mobile Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100G.
I wanted to install ROM through the program odin mobile and knee after installing version fails the device is to comment on the Samsung logo, which is in the type of device and I will open Recovery Mode I could not and I want Open Download Mode opens to I was not recognized on the device.
I have a T-Mobile Galaxy Vibrant that was running Android 2.1. I rooted the phone (successfully), and installed Slim Bean 4.2.2 plus Google apps. Everything was going smoothly and I was reinstalling apps and data when I noticed that I had no network phone connection. Slim Beam did not seem to recognize the sim, and I came up empty searching for networks. I removed the sim and put it in another phone, and everything was fine.
I decided to restore the previous android 2.1 (which I had backed up) using ClockWorkMod Recovery. I did restore, then reboot. Now the only thing I get is the initial screen ... Vibrant and Samsung in bold white letters. I have tried repeatedly to launch CWM Recovery, without success.
