i have been tinkering around for about 20 min now and can't figure out how to assign my wifes pic to her contact. I have a picture of her on my phone but only know how to access through the wallpaper selection.

I just wanted to see if there a way to assign a picture to the contact without the picture being very blurry, when I assign the picture it is fine but after a while the picture becomes very blurry.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to get Facebook profile pictures assigned to internal phone contacts, but cant get it to work. I installed the recently updated Facebook app, at the first launch it asked me if I want to sync my contacts, I selected Sync with exisiting contacts (later I selected Sync all since first option didnt work) but still profile pictures are not being fetched. I can now see facebook contacts in my main contact list, and I can link them with my phone contacts (manually), but profile picture is still blank. When I click the View profile (facebook) link of a particular contact I'm taken to my profile page instead of the person i clicked on. And when I select Edit and go to Facebook tab there is an error with an exclamation mark with the message "Unable to edit SNS contacts on phone".
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've assigned my Google Contacts a picture for caller ID purposes (and texts, etc.) but during a texting session, my part of the conversation has a blank space for an image. Yet, on the Google Contacts website, there is no "Me" contact that I can edit (although it exists on my phone and apparently is what is being used while texting). Is there a way I can give myself a picture without having to put it on the phone first? Like do something on Gmail and it syncs to my phone?

But I've been trying to assign an individual ringtone to my wife's number (she doesn't care for "Secret Prayer" by Joe Satriani, suggested something by ABBA, and is lucky she isn't getting "Scolding Wife" by Great Big Sea) but I haven't had any luck. Is this a Captivate thing? The other android phones seem to be easy enough.

1)Has anyone found a way to change which picture is displayed for a linked contact? On the HTC Aria, you could choose whether you wanted the picture from Gmail or the one from Facebook.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI had this problem in 2.1v2, I installed v3, and it first, all was well, then yesterday I noticed the same thing...none of my custom set ring tones are being used. phone always rings with the system default.
I can change that, and it rings that tone, but any I assign to a contact don't work.
I haven't installed any ring tone managers or anything, I can't think of what would be messing with it, but it is friggin annoying!
Is it just me or does the call screen (what displays when there is an incoming/active/ended call) look like crap? Ugly colors, minimal layout, contact picture too small, etc... So many other features on the phone are so polished, it just seems odd that the call screen would look so unfinished - it's almost looks like a development placeholder that they never got around to updating.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAs title - having tried everything I could find already suggested, I've completely run out of options. I'm unable to set the picture size taken by the camera on the Samsung Galaxy.
I don't set preview size anywhere and I've tried the ShutterCallback trick. On checking the camera parameters before and after attempting to change the size, I get the correct results - the camera *reports* that its size has now been changed... however, the size of the byte array I'm receiving in the onPictureTaken() callback is only consistent with the camera's default (enormous) image - and forces an OutOfMemoryError when I attempt to decode it into a bitmap!

No matter what I do I cannot make the final camera image be smaller than the gigantic 5MP which effectively crashes the poor old BitmapFactory.
The ShutterCallback trick is in use. Does somebody have some other ideas?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a question that I'm not sure if it's even possible since they are two completely different ROMS. I have been running BH-man's Galaxy 1.6 Rom R8 and have been loving it but the two things that have not been working is starting to become a factor and Im really needing Vibrate and the default BH2 camera features. So with that being said, I went ahead and made the switch to the Behold 2 1.6 with No Twiz, and is very fast and nice, minus a few features from the Galaxy rom. Now, I have been wondering if its even possible to have the Dialer & Contact interface from BH Mans Galaxy 1.6 added to this default ROM without it messing anything up. If that is possible, would a pullpush the two files over to the 1.6 no Twiz Rom work? I know that at one point BH_Man has done this in the past but it was based off 1.5 I believe.

I opened my 'Messages' inbox by clicking the Messages icon. At the top of the screen it showed that the message was from my mate Doug, not my brother.
