Samsung Galaxy S :: Get Notifications Sounds Back / Download Themes?
Oct 8, 2010
Today I flashed XWJM8 on my Phone and it's all working perfectly, except there are no default sounds for my ringer and notification sound. The ringer is ok since I use one I downloaded anyways, but anyone knows how can I get the notifications sounds back/download them? It's hard to find a decent simple sound on the Internet.
I have a Virgin Mobile Galaxy S3 that just got the 4.4 update this morning. Afterwards it had to redownload/update nearly every app on the device as well as all my SNES and Playsation ROMs which I though was odd.
Now all the notifications for thos downloads will not go away. I've cleared them all at once, I've cleared them all individually. When I turn the screen off and then turn it back on an dunlock the phone all those notifications are back in the notification bar.
Just after some information on the best place to find some themes for my new Galaxy. I have not reaily started looking yet but if you don't ask you could miss that special "thing" to enhance the the look, feel and sound.
Just wondering if anyone has any idea about themes with Galaxo 1.6.3? I grabbed a theme from this site (which has a GREAT tutorial by the way), but whenever i try to install one, my phone will not boot following the update. I get a similar thing to if you have not restored GAPPS where the screen will just sit on the boot screen but go no further. I tried restoring GAPPS to see if that was somehow the issue, but not luck.
I am wondering how to apply themes from xda in our galaxy. A lot of themes say that will only work on cyanogen mod rom and i am not that expert to make experiments with my phone. The way of setting a theme must be the same (update.zip or correct me if i am wrong). I think we can make a list here of the working themes on galaxy and maybe a how to install or modify themes to work with galaxy.
i just successfully installed Galaxo 18.104.22.168 on my Samsung Galaxy i7500 and theres two issues here. First I can't import contacts through signing into my gmail account, it wont even let me get into that window by pressing the button from the menu. So do themes have to be exactly compatible with the version of Galaxo? Also, where is "Market" on Galaxo? was that removed?
Is there such a thing as an app that plays a custom notification sound (mp3) chosen at random from a group of sounds? For example, if I have several different mp3 sound bytes of different people saying "You've got mail", is there an app that will randomly choose one of those sounds to play whenever I get mail?
(I've got a great notification mp3 right now but I could see it getting annoying to hear over and over again, so I'd love it if it was different from time to time)
I recently updated to Android 4.4 and have encountered a problem with setting custom notification sounds.
Every time I want to set a custom notification I get this list of Samsung sounds to choose from, instead of being asked, for instance, where I want to find the sound.
My friend, who has an LG G2 running Android 4.3 gets the following when he clicks on notification sound in Whatsapp:
Whereas I get this:
I then thought to install an app that controls all notification sounds, kind of like Lightflow does notification LEDs. I found MegaSound and tried that. Gave it permission, went in, tried to set a custom notification sound for Whatsapp and was shown the same list to choose from.
Before I updated I was able to choose a wma/mp3 sound from my files on my phone to use.
Everytime I try to download an app it goes to download and I see the download bar but upon checking notifications find Download Unsuccessful waiting for me. To top it off my apps have updates avail that will not load either.
I never rooted the phone and had no problems up till now Yes I turned off power and removed the battery to reset..
Is there an app that would allow me to program different sounds for each different notification? For example I want a new email to have one sound, while a new sms to have another, and for the locale updater to be on silent/vibrate.
I have Samsung Galaxy S handset since last two week. Earlier I have Nokia E63. I am new for android based phone. Just wanted to know that when a new mail received why I cant get a notification just like Nokia E63? All my gmail account working properly but no notification recd. on my hotmail and yahoomail account. Is there any problem in setting? All setting I have been checked. I have WiFi at my home. Earlier when I entered home automatically mail notification recd. on Nokia E63.
I noticed this morning that my alarm didn't make a sound when it went off this morning. Fortunately it was set to vibrate and I heard that. I than noticed it didn't ring when I received a call. I had my GF send me a txt and no sound with that either. When I go into setting to change my ringtone none of them play. The volume button beeps when I hit it and I other apps that play sounds are working fine.
Notifications sounds can they be changed using my ring tones on my SD Card, I use awl's you got mail when an email is pushed to my phone and it alerted me, with that ring tone, I cant find a way to ad it to the notifications.
I'm looking for an app(?) that will chirp at me every couple minutes if I have pending notifications (email, sms, voicemail, etc.) If I could have it optionally chirp different sounds for different pending notifications or what not that would be great. Love the droid but (especially when charging) I'm missing a lot of alerts and the indicator light is overridden by the charging status.
Is it possible or is there an app that will allow me to use different sounds for different notifications? I have 4 different email accounts tied to my phone plus texting. Is it possible to have one tone for Yahoo a different one for GMail another for text messages ect.....? Right now the phone only has one tone for all notifications. Once again, sorry if this has been asked numerous times I'm just looking for a quick answer.
One thing I liked about the Moto Droid was that long 'droid' notification sound. I assume it's a moto thing. But has anyone tried to get that on their Eris? Is that even possible - to use your own sounds for notifications? If so, I wonder what the best way would be to get that sound on the Eris, and keep the fidelity.
As simple as the title states, I find the low battery notifications annoying and intrusive; I am quite able to tell my battery is low just by looking at the indicator. how does one go about disabling these notifications?
Only had my phone a day or so and am receiving email and whatsapp notifications but nothing for facebook and twitter. Have uninstalled/reinstalled, rebooted my phone, ensured that the notifications box is ticked in the application manager and in apps themselves.
Been lurking all over google, and the forums but to no avail. Is there solutions to receiving push notifications for facebook on SGS? I've set my settings to receive notifications, but so far I've set my notifications to come to my email. I've heard from someone that google and facebook are having some sort of differences. Anyone have any solutions?
Lately I have realized that at home I don't get notifications from most of my apps. I have notifications turned on and I do get them pushed to me when I go to other places with high-speed internet. The internet at home isn't blazing fast but isn't slow at 13 Mbps. I don't get notifications for most games and some other apps, like hangouts, where I could end up missing out on a conversation because I never got the notification. I get notifications about new emails and updates from the Play Store but that's about it. Is there something I can try or do to fix this problem and get my notifications?
I know how to get different sounds for text and phone, you go right to the app, but what about Ebay? There is only a place to enablenot change the ringtone. I'm looking for help or an app that'll let me do it.
I am a new owner of the HTC Hero and I tried to customize the ring tones and alarm sounds by using the directions provided by leaky on the tread "HTC Hero: Tips, Tricks & Useful Apps" but unfortunately this did not work out for my Hero. My SD card appeared as DCIM and I had to rename it to SD card and then on the MEDIA folder I added an AUDIO folder in which I added three separate files. One named ring tones, one named alarms and on named notifications as directions provided by thread. Then I added the appropriate .mp3 files to each folder while having the Hero plugged in with my PC.
