I have a lot of contacts loaded from my SIM. TouchWiz doesn't provide any way of selecting multiple contacts for delete operation, I have to do it one by one, this sucks! Any apps in Android market that can help out with this?
When i got my new phone, all the contacts were transferred over from my previous phone. I also have all my contacts in Google. When Google sync'd to the phone it created a duplicate of all the contacts. Is there a way to delete all the phone contacts so that all i have is the google contacts, which is what i use as the "master". I know i can reset the phone to factory defaults but i have a lot of apps, music and pictures on there that i would prefer to not have to try and backup and reload.
I have all my contacts listed twice, some even four times. Is there a way to select and delete multiple contacts at once. Doing it one by one can take up to 8 seconds each cause of load time, and thanks to this problem I have over 600 contacts.
When I go into a contact on some I have multiple numbers for them which is fine. But when editing within some contacts it lists 4 or 5 'google contacts' for that person. Some of which don't even have a name and/or number. How do I delete these extra google contacts?
May I know how to delete or replace the 4 default icons (Dialer, Contacts, Messaging, and Applications) on the Galaxy S main screen? The reason for me doing this is because I wanted to use the Handcent SMS app instead of the default Android SMS app as I am getting used to the Handcent one.
I recently synced my Facebook contact to my phone so that I could have their Facebook pic as the pic on my phone. I do not want to have all my Facebook contacts in my Phone. I tried deleting them from my phone but it says that I have to delete them from Facebook in order to do so.
Am I missing something here? I had my contacts connected to my gmail, then decided to see if I could put them on the sim and still use a picture for them (protip, you can't :P) then I decided to go back to [g] contacts and thus would need to just delete the ones on the sim else I'd have multiple ones.
So off I trot, hold down for the context menu, hit delete and then BAM "Failed" er...what? I'm not allowed to delete my own contacts if they're on the sim card?! What, do I have to mount it to the pc and go looking for them or something? That's ridiculous if so, I'm hoping I'm just missing something obvious...
My husband has a Samsung Galaxy S and has noticed some applications pre-installed on the phone that he doesn't want. However he can't delete them! They don't appear in his list of applications. He's tried going into applications, menu, edit. But only some of the applications (and not the ones he wants to get rid of) have the red no entry sign.
I want to delete all the files on the internal sd card so that my phone will be like straight from the factory. Are the system files on my phone (GT-I9000) protected from deletion even though it is rooted and would my my phone still boot up?
why my S4 is deleting all my contacts from it. I have my contacts synced with my gmail contacts and this has been the case for years. I had a Samsung Infuse before this and have never had a problem. I've had the S4 for about 3 weeks now and this hasn't happened until yesterday. And since yesterday it has happened 3x's. At first I thought it was a Trulia app (realestate app) that I was using to try to call some realtors. I'm not sure if it was a coincidence but the first 2 times I was on the app and my contacts disappeared. How I recovered them was through the contacts recovery feature on Gmail. I would be SOL if I were out and needed to call someone on my contacts list immediately and without access to my laptop.
I installed the Launcherpro, and i love it, but the phone has become really slow, im think that uninstalling TwLauncher will, help, since im not using it anymore i wont miss it.My first question is: Is it possible? Second: Is it safe to unistall it?
I registered because I have this weird problem of the phone deleting any PLS file that I transfer to the internal or external SD card. I can transfer other file types to the card and they stay there. Is this deliberate by Samsung or Android generally? Can anyone else retain PLS files in their SD card?
I'm using the Sprint Samsung Galaxy S4 on 4.2.2 with Nova Launcher and just recently after disabling apps, etc. my Video player app no longer opens. I press it and it freezes for 15 seconds and says unfortunately it has stopped working. On top of that every time I delete a contact, it deletes the contact but gives me a message like "android.process.acore" had stopped working and exits the contacts app.
I've tried enabling any potential function that I may have disabled to have that issue and no luck. I also cleared cache and data of the contacts list and contacts storage but no luck. I honestly do not want to format data as I have already done it 3 times prior to this issue and it is tedious. EDIT: Fixed video player by enabling picasa uploader and cloud Agent. Still no luck with the error message after deleting contact.
I have configured my Samsung Galaxy S using my normal Gmail account. This has helped me to sync the Google Contacts with my phone.
Following are my questions:
1. Right now I have about a thousand google contacts synced to my phone. I want to remove them at one go. I know how to disable them from being appearing in contact list, but I want to know if I can delete them without going to factory settings.
2. I am using three applications (a) Gmail (b) Contacts (3) MVOIP. I want to know if there is a way that following combination works: a- Google contacts appear on Gmail app b- Google contacts (with phone numbers) and normal phone contacts appear on "Contacts" c- Google contacts (with phone numbers) and normal phone contacts appear on "MVOIP application".
I know how to do
(a) - By synchronising google contacts, (b) - by choosing display options (c) - I do not know how to handle this and I want help.
Is there a way to assign multiple ringtones to each number, not to each contact? I have several contacts that have multiple numbers and would like "home" "work" "mobile" etc to all be different ringtones but still remain within the same contact.
In Google Contacts I've entered birthdays and subscribed to the "Contacts' birthdays and events" calendar in Google Calendar. They show up as intended in Google Calendar but in my phones calendar they're all listed twice. Unsubscribing from the contacts birthdays calendar makes both disappear, so they're not from some other calendar. Is this a bug in the Galaxy S calendar? Any solutions?
I just bought an HTC EVO 4G to use on the Sprint network. I'm using the standard email program that comes with the phone. I know how to delete an email one-at-a-time. In spite of my reading a couple of posts on the subject, I'm unable to delete multiple emails at the same time. How do you delete multiple emails at the same time on the EVO?
how google accounts work. I got a phone previously owned by a family member and all his contacts are still in the phone. I was wondering if it is possible to delete all the contacts on the phone but not affect his google account contacts? Also, if i reformat the phone, will this delete all his google contacts?
I have sprint, my phone is an Epic and i love it! however when sending even a simple text i select "new message" the "to" box comes up. i have to start typing in a name to get contacts with similar names to start coming up, which i then select. then i have to repeat for the next contact...i have had cheaper phones that have allowed me to select recipients from my contact list. i have a friend who has Verizon, but has the same andrion platform (i think its a fascinate) and when she clicks on the "to" box, she gets a drop down menu that includes the word "contacts", as well as "recent calls". she clicks on that and goes right down the list selecting recipients...this is standard on her phone, as she did not dwld an app to allow this...MY epic wont do this...can i change a setting or something.
The market place was working fine until today when I started getting multiple "download successful" messages. I've tried the following to fix it.
1. go to your settings 2. select "applications" 3. then select "manage applications" 4. press menu and select "filter" then "All" 5. scroll down to:
a) "Checkin Service" then select "clear data" b) "Download Manager" then select "clear data" c) "Google Apps" then "clear data" d) "Google Talk Service" then select "clear data" e) " Market" then select "clear cache"
However, when I try step 5c) I don't get the option to clear the data, just force stop. Does anyone know how I can get the "clear data" option? I've also deselected Autoupdate time and date.
This may be old news to some but thought I'd throw this out: With TXT messages showing, click Options button - Select Multiple -Options button -Select all There you go. And remember, once you have deleted them, they are STILL in your memory and retrievable. See one of my other posts about how to permanently delete them.
I have two folders in in my mediascape, one containing bluetooth pictures and one containing downloaded pictures. At present to delete these pictures I have to go through each picture individually. How can I delete the entire contents of each folder? I do not seem to have a tag feature where I can tag all of the photogrpahs that I want to delete in one go. Any ideas?
I have given up on trying to find the answer to this ridiculously basic question in the User Guide. (I must not be using the keywords that the user guide understands!) Can you advise me on how to delete multiple text messages at the same time, rather than deleting them individually? My phone is an X10 mini pro.
