Samsung Fascinate ::Installed Paid Version Of Lag - Now Phone Is Locked At Boot
Nov 16, 2010
Hey guys my Fascinate is stuck on the happy robot green screen after installed Lag Fix (Paid Version) I'm pretty fucking stoked about this one! How do I restore to a previous ROM or get the phone to a happier place?
I have a Samsung Fascinate and recently I just started up the phone and i see the Samsung logo and hear the sound, but the screen won't switch from the samsung logo. I tried doing a factory reset but nothing will work. I don't know what to do because I really don't want to take it back to Verizon.
i got a fascinate like 2 days ago and i set a patter lock to it, i know this very well, its very simple but i was procratinating from my homework earlier and kept entering different patters because i hate homework and i have add. Anyways i did this to the point where it required a google id login. So i sigh and attempt to login, does not work, i try 10 more times before i find out that this is an ongoing android problem. I do a hard reset, still doesnt work. Now 5 hours later im pissed beyond belief wondering why google put so much effort into a dumb pattern lock and why it still does not work after a full restore.
I used to be a C/C++ programmer before getting in to android. I am not sure how people maintain 2 versions of a program without using #ifdef preprocessor macros. Right now I am changing the package name in eclipse and changing the code manually, but this seems really inefficient. Can anybody suggest a good way of having 2 or more projects that share most of the code?
I'm planning on getting LockBot when I get my EVO and I was wondering, what's the difference between the free version and paid version. I basically want the Moto Droid lock screen on my EVO for the slide to toggle sound on/off feature due to the lack of an external switch on the EVO. Would I be best to get the paid version or will the free version do that?
I am trying to get gps going on my phone. I downloaded GPS Status. It says it is installed and I can't find it anywhere. How many apps can I install. I have 3 pages and they are full of the bogus verizon stuff and so does that mean I can't install any more.
The latest Swype Beta version is 126.96.36.19912.t100, however my Fascinate shipped with 188.8.131.5294. Can I install the Swype beta alongside this pre-installed one or is it going to seriously mess something up?
I am getting a warranty replacement for my Fascinate today. Anyway, my contacts and images are easily backed up and synced with gmail. Is there an easy way to export a list of all the free Apps I have installed so I can print them out? Too lazy to write them all down but will if I have too. ;<) Also, not quite as important to me but is there an easy to export all the text messages and import them into the replacement phone?
I'm currently running Cyda's Stock+ ROM on my Ascend G300. I installed this Volume+ and set the incall volume steps to 100 and rebooted and now my phone won't boot and is stuck in the booting animation. [URL]
I have a fascinat and I am trying to use a one step root and my bootloader wont open. The directions say to push volume up and power, but this doesnt work. So does anyone have any idea, or have you had this problem? Please help me out.
So I think I have returned everythingto Stock on my phone after using Odin. The symptoms on the phone seem to be that everything works fine when I first reset it ... and then after a re-boot I just get the Fin "Download Unsuccessful" from the app store over and over. I suppose I can bring my newly purchased phone back to Verizon and swap it...
I've tried using ADB to push bootanimation.zip to my phone. The file copies properly without error but doesn't take affect when I reboot. I also downloaded the free version of Boot Animation from the market. It too reports success but doesn't actually change the boot animation. Has anyone had any success changing their boot animation?
I am posting this thread to see what people would like to have as boot animations. I probably won't have time to make all of them, but I plan on trying to make a few of the top requests.
Also, if you have boot animations you have made, or links to someone else's boot animations that you like and think others would like here, please post those links! No sense in going through all that trouble for one that's already made!
*Important!* When posting links to boot animations, PLEASE specify whether it is an animation that doesn't work with the Fascinate and you'd like us to try and make it work, OR if it has been CONFIRMED to work specifically with the Fascinate, just so people know.
I will be posting links to some more of my favorites soon, but for now, this is my current favorite. I did not make it, and when I find out who did, they are going to get a big, fat thank you from me! It's awesome, and battery friendly to boot. (no pun intended)
Fascinate Boot Animation Links (confirmed to work): Windows 7 Boot Animation Spinning Droid (thanks to Saps for link and Natems from MyDroidWorld for creating it)
Fascinate Shutdown Animation Links(confirmed to work): Reverse Android Scribble Shutdown (thanks to Saps for reversing, testing it, and the link)
Links to more links: Bootanimation.zip links on XDA (thanks jamesnmandy)
Please post the quickest link possible to the actual "bootanimation.zip" file, or whatever they've named it, and if possible, please credit the producer for his/her work. Keep in mind that some links might point to download files that require membership/registration in order to allow you to download it.

i tried to do the one click clock work mod on my samsung fascinate with the phoenix kernel on the root of the sd card. everything went succesful but whe it turned back on, it kept looping, first the samsung logo appeared than a samsung.com logo followed and just looped. i cant go to any menu... cant get into hard reset or anything else!!
I'm kind of new to Rooting and ROMs but I keep getting the same problem while installing ROMs using ROM Manager. I flash and then I install the ROM and everything goes well until the boot up screen. It gets stuck in a loop of the Droid and Droid Eye animation (For over 10 minutes) and I have to restore it. Can anyone help me figure out what's wrong? I am using the Droid with Froyo, rooted using Easy Root.
So I was at work today browsing the market and suddenly my screen went black. I tried pressing the power button to wake it but got nothing. After a few minutes of waiting, I pulled the battery. The phone will boot past the "Samsung", "Galaxy S" and "Verizon" screens, but gets stuck on the Verizon one for a while then goes dark. The soft buttons on the bottom stay lit. That's it. I've probably done it 10-15 times through the evening now, and I get no farther.
I wasn't doing anything particularly taxing at the time, and I haven't added anything recently that would have caused a change in any system files. I'm running voodoo v.2 with the OCLF (because it won't uninstall) and all has been well for almost six weeks now... then all of a sudden this happens.
I'm thinking maybe I need to learn exactly what Odin is and how to use it, but any help that you can give would be great.

Let's say for example that I have some Android app that does X. The free version has ads or basic features. I want to have a paid version that removes the ads and adds extra features. How can I use the paid app as a "license key" to unlock the features in the free app? So the user would install the free app, then install the paid app to get the extra features, but they would still run the free app (which would now be unlocked). What's the best approach to doing this?
I was rooted and and had lagfix on my fascinate. Then I decided to download the new update from verizon today. After the update the update screen kept on popping up even after I already installed it. Then I found out that my apps that require root like autokiller and setcpu did not work anymore even though I still hade the superuser app. So I rooted my phone again restarted it and the apps worked again then I decided I wanted to do the clockworkmod installation thing so I could make my phone flashable, the instructions recommended that i remove lag fix so I took my phone plugged it into the pc and went to my ryan lagfix folder whatever on my desktop and clicked on the unlagfixme.bat thing and at the end it had some errors or something even mentioning the Innopath Activecare in it which was for some reason probably why it didnt work. So I decided to try it again and it didnt work. Then I rebooted the phone and I saw the samsung logo and then black screen!
I just purchased Camera360 Pro and I downloaded & installed a scenery template. It shows up in file view on my SD card, but when I try to access it within the application it says 'No templates found...etc.' How do I have it show up within the app?
Now that Shazam will charge new users who install after July 13 like it does in other OS platforms, if I save v1.3 the last free version will this work on any device free as long as v1.4 is not installed? Say I go with a tablet and install v1.3 will it have unlimited tagging?
If i was to buy + what additional features does it have compared to the freeone, also if i buy an app ie beautiful widgets if for some reason i have to download it again will it cost me again or is it free coz my phone likes wiping apps off the face of the earth for no reason.
