Samsung Fascinate : How To Turn Off Vibrate On Text Notification?Nov 16, 2010
Probably a stupid question but where do I go in the phone menu to turn off Vibrate when a New SMS comes in?
Probably a stupid question but where do I go in the phone menu to turn off Vibrate when a New SMS comes in?
Just got my Fascinate and want to know if there is a way to have my phone audible/vibrate alert me when a text message comes in while I am on a voice call. I left my daughter sitting at school for 30mins the other night since I didn't see the message until I hung up from my voice call! If I can't find a way to have this feature I might have to switch to the X!View 10 Replies View Related

With Text Messages (SMS) -
Is there a way to either:
a) set the native text appl so that there is no content preview in the notification bar, or
b) with Handcent still have the special puzzle piece show up on your lock screen when you have a new text message?
I really liked how that puzzle piece showed up but now it is gone and I suspect it is ever since I installed Handcent and I don't know how to get it back.
Follow up question -- if I go back to the native text app, is there a way to increase the font size of incoming and outgoing messages? I don't want to have to put my reading glasses on everytime I get a text.
Is there a setting in LP or any apps that would allow me to toggle off and on the soft keys when a new notification comes in? Anytime I get an email or text the soft keys stay lit until I check the message.View 3 Replies View Related

I'm new to Android and I'm deciding on which phone to get. I believe I want the Fascinate but this issue with Google Maps navigation is an issue since turn-by-turn navigation is a big feature for me. Does Bing Maps also offer turn-by-turn navigation as well? Is it voice assisted? Personally I don't care if it's Bing or Google but I don't want the Verizon one since it will require a monthly fee. As long as Bing Maps offers the same functionality as Google Maps, I'm fine.View 15 Replies View Related

All I want to do is create a simple "vibrate" profile that turns phone calls and text messages to vibrate. I have the call part but the messages just come in silently with no vibrate. I have the following in the task:
1) Vibrate on Notify: On
2) Vibrate on Ringer: On
3) Silent Mode: Vibrate
My phone when in vibrate mode doesnt vibrate when i receive a text, but does if i receive a call, all settings are as they should be for it to vibrate....View 3 Replies View Related

So my wife has a Samsung Fascinate no-rooted and running the official Gingerbread update for a while now. The issue started a few weeks ago. At night she turns the phone off, plugs it into the wall charger to charge overnight, and then the phone turns itself back on. The phone will not stay off while she is trying to charge it. She has had the phone for over a year and this just started happening recently.View 5 Replies View Related

I just started noticing this yesterday, and it's bugging the crap out of me now.
Essentially, this is what's happening.
I'll get a text, and in the notification bar where it shows the preview of a text, it'll say "Sarah Klein hey what's up?"
So then I'll pull down the notification area and in that it will again say "Sarah Klein hey what's up?"
Then I'll open the text.. and it's actually from another person! So the notification bar will say one name, but when I open the text, it goes into the actual person's sms thread. This has happened 4 times in the past day now that I've noticed. Has anyone else had this happen?
I would like my phone to vibrate when I receive a text or email while it is in vibrate mode. It only does so when a call is being received. I can turn on "also vibrate" and it works, but when I am in normal mode it rings AND vibrates. Any way to make it work they way I want it?View 7 Replies View Related

I have a couple of questions about notifications on the Captivate.
1) My ringer, when someone calls me, starts off quiet for a few seconds then goes to full volume. The ringtone I have doesn't do that by itself, it must be a setting. Is there a way to make it ring full volume as soon as someone calls me?
2) Is there a way to make the phone vibrate when receiving a text message either while the phone is on vibrate or on normal volume.
Is there any settings or apps that will allow SF to return to the home screen when you turn on the phone again? It would be nice not to have to hit the home button each time I turn the phone back on?View 5 Replies View Related

Used the search feature to no avail. The stock calendar app is not honoring any of my alarms/reminders setup in my Google calendar. I installed Gemini, and turned on the Notifications, but it tells me to disable any other notifications. Problem is, I can't find an option to do that anywhere.Long story short, if anyone knows of ANY calendar app for the Fascinate that will honor alarms/reminders, please let me know. I am in desperate need of one.View 1 Replies View Related
I bit the bullet today and got a Fascinate. When I was playing around with the Captivate at the store I noticed the shortcuts when you pull down the notification bar, the ones at the store were silent, vib only, etc.
Now that I'm playing around with the Fascinate I find that its shorcuts are BT, WiFi, etc. Is there a way to change the shortcuts that are displayed when you pull down the notification bar? I can't seem to figure out how to do it.
A puzzle piece does not show up on my unlock screen for new email. I only get it for text messages.View 3 Replies View Related
Is there any way to get a notification of a missed text/call/etc? Like maybe an occasional flash of the screen?
I often keep my phone on silent so I don't always notice texts. My old phone had the LED light to notify me, and before that I had an iPhone which would flash the display with a notice about the missed text/call.
I'm aware of NoLED, but I tried it and wasn't a fan, the icons are annoying. Plus it seems like it would take up battery.
Is there an LED notification on the Fascinate for txt msgs, emails, calls, etc?
I can't seem to find it. If not then what are the two things that look like LEDs under the glass just left of the ear speaker?
I'm sure I'm missing something stupid. I've turned off notifications in the stock Messaging app (I'm pretty sure). And those look different (they have the green text bubble as the icon). Can anyone clue me in as to what that 2nd notification is below the blue Handcent icon? And can I get rid of it? I'd like to keep the text messages private is why I ask - I have Handcent and the stock Messages under App Protector. And I have Handcent's option checked to not show messages in the bar, just the notification.View 11 Replies View Related
