Samsung Epic 4G :: How To Replace Screen? (Instructions Or Guide)
My wife dropped her phone and cracked the glass. I am glad to see OEM replacements online for only ~$75. But I am not going to order one until I am confident I will know what to do. I cannot find any disassembly guides, etc. So I would have no idea what screws to start taking out, where to pry, etc. Anybody know how to replace the screen or where there is a guide?

Samsung Epic 4G :: DLNA With PS3 / Instructions For Registering Device?
I can't figure this out. First thing I did was open allshare. I selected "play media from phone on another device." It couldn't find any devices. I then checked out my PS3. I tried going to the remote play settings to register my device. It gives me a number to input during device registration but this is where I get stuck. I don't know where to go from here. Allshare doesn't have an option to "register a device." How to do this: DLNA works with a PS3.

Samsung Epic 4G :: Touch Screen Lag
Ok time for the next issue with this phone. Has anyone noticed a general lag between touch screen presses and actions/sounds? The best examples are: 1) I type fast, and keep the click sound when I type. I can literally hear about a 1/4 second to 1/2 second lag between when I press the buttons and when the sound clicks. 2) Download any free piano or drum up and try to keep a steady beat. There's a nasty lag between when you tap the screen and when the sound comes out. For comparison, the keyboard and piano app on my old iphone (3G no less), work perfectly. And my iPad is wonderfully smooth. Is this a software issue, or a problem with my phone? Musical Lite is a good sample program for free if anyone wants to try this out.

Samsung Epic 4G :: Screen Not Working?
I was at school listening to music on pandora and it died, went home plugged it in (charger) and now when i try to enter my password it doesnt respond AT ALL! no even the emergency call.. this is pissing me off to NO END as I got it 3 days ago... I tried taking th battery out and that didnt work, i called it with my home phone and she screen changed to the answer/ignor/ignore w/ text screen but the contact didnt move when i slid it over.

Samsung Epic 4G :: Screen Turning Black
is any1 having the issue where the screen goes black in middle of use after a momentary pause but the soft keys are lit up and nothing can be done to wake up screen yet keys stay lit & only thing to solve issue is pulling battery as a means to soft reset phone ? i already hard reset device cuz of this & phone is 100% stock including zero market apps

Samsung EPIC 4G :: Keyboard Unlock Screen
Does anyone know if it's possible to unlock the screen by simply sliding the keyboard open? My Moment does that and it's annoying as I end up pocket dialing people or opening up programs because the keyboard slide on it gets jarred and unlocks the screen.This will be a deal breaker for me between the Epic 4G and EVO.

I have searched and searched and still cannot figure out why my epic will not boot into clockwork recovery. i dl the noobnl's one click, backed up my phone using titanium backup, superuser is on the phone. this has been an all day search and am simply asking for a easier solution so that i can put the baked snack ROM on my phone. thanks for any info and speedy replies.

just wondering if anyone has a scratch or two on their epic screen? i'm still going naked with mine since launch day, have been pretty careful with it, but nothing more different than with prior phones. phone goes into pocket with screen facing in. when there's too much smudges i wipe it against clean soft part of shirt (as opposed to my eye glasses, where i use a specific cotton cloth.)

Samsung Epic 4G :: Screen Keeps Turning On / Wont Turn Off
Is there any1 else having this happen? I hit the power button to turn the screen off & it lights right back up as soon as I hit it; I hit it again to cut it off, & again it turns right back on; then when I do get it to shut off, about a minute or 2 lata it turns on again & will stay on until I fight to turn it off. I'm jus checking before I hard reset it & see if there's an app causing this.

Samsung Epic 4G :: Shutting Screen In Camera Mode?
I want to use this phone as a digital camera replacement. However when I turn on tehcamera, the power button turns into a "lock" button. There's no way to turn off the screen. So first I have to hit the home key. Then it takes about 8 seconds for the camera to disable before it returns to the home screen.Only then can I shut the phone using the power key. Then if I want to use the camera,I have to turn on the screen and relaunch the camera app.This feels completely wrong to me and makes it hard to use as a pure digital camera.

Samsung Epic 4G :: Strange Erratic Screen Behavior
I activated an almost new Epic this weekend, and it has been amazing so far.I only noticed one strange erratic occurence - when I put the phone to standby, and went to look at it a little while later, the screen was already on.I clicked on home, and as soon as I did that, it would somehow activate the google search widget, and bring up the keyboard as if you pressed the search widget. I'd press home, and it would do the same thing again. It kept repeating it over and over no matter what I did.I finally powered the phone off, and then turned it back on.After that, there were no further issues. Anyone else had anything like this happen?

Samsung EPIC 4G :: Price To Pay Seems A Little Too High For Magnificent Screen
First off let me begin by saying that I absolutely love the Epic 4G so far. The biggest difference for me coming from an EVO is the beauty of the screen. I work with several techies at my job so I asked to borrow an iPhone 4 and an EVO. I pulled the same web pages on each machine to compare image quality and DAMN! I never realized how bad the screen on the EVO was. Proves that bigger isn't always better. The major shootout was between the EPIC and the iphone. While most everyone liked the EPIC'S screen better, the consensus we all reached is that the iphone has a more realistic picture while the EPIC has the colors more saturated.Now back to my point. With this beautiful screen comes great sacrifice. The battery life on this thing (so far) is terrible! The fantastic screen eats battery like no other! As of typing this on my new phone, I have it unplugged for 33 mins with the battery at 58% with the display using 83% of the battery! I have the screen brightness at about 90% and this feels unacceptable. I've never been one to be conservative with screen brightness levels so I've never seen something drain this hard this fast. Hopefully its just a breaking in thing but current owners, please give me some feedback because I don't know if I can do a year with this issue.

Samsung Epic 4G :: Change Icons At Bottom Of Screen
I'm trying to figure out how to change the icons at the bottom of the screen but I'm failing miserably at it...or I'm beginning to think that it's just not possible? Specifically I'm wanting to change the Messaging icon out to be the one for Handcent (or any other messaging icon other than stock). Yes, I realize I can set it to point to use Handcent by default, but when you initially open it, it doesn't start to use Handcent initially, only once you go into conversations does it start to use the Handcent application. Is there a way to do this like there is on the other Galaxy devices or is this completely locked down on the Epic and I need to download another UI in order to change this?

Samsung Epic 4G :: Exchange Email Stuck On Loading Screen
I've entered all of the correct info to connect to my corporate exchange server, but immediately after setting up the account (and on all subsequent attempts to get into that email account), the "Loading..." screen appears with a spinning wheel and never goes away. End result is that I cannot receive any email from that account nor can I pull down my contacts. I am connected to my gmail account just fine. Phone: Samsung Epic

Samsung Epic 4G :: Unresponsive Touch Screen While Charging - OEM Charger
Does anyone else's touch screen become unresponsive when the Epic is being charged? My touch screen gets glitchy and only responds to a fraction of touches. I just received mine yesterday and I've already spent more than 6 hours trying to troubleshoot this issue. Most of the google searches that I've found have to do with cheap 3rd party chargers, but I'm using the OEM Samsung charger. I thought it might be the charger, so I went out and purchased 4 different chargers today, but none of them fix the issue. I also ordered another Epic for my wife at the same time, and her Epic has the same problem, which suggests that it's not a defective phone (unless they both came from the same batch). To confuse things even more, I've been able to isolate 2-3 outlets in the house where this problem doesn't happen. The problem also doesn't happen when I charge at work, through a car charger, or via USB from the laptop. I'm inclined to think it has something to do with the outlets in the house. However, I've never heard of any issue like that and the house is relatively new (built in '98).

Samsung Epic 4G :: Force Closes - Phone Freaks Out And Shuts The Screen Off
Everytime i reboot my phone, I get bunch of problems with my phone. when I try to open the phone dialer I get a force close on com.google.process.acore. Sometimes it completely prevents me from using the phone. Then on occasion the phone freaks out and shuts the screen off, but leaves the navigation lights on the bottom of the phone. At that point the phone is completely unusable for about 1-2minutes. Sometimes when it comes back on, it starts rerunning the media scanner.

Samsung Epic 4G :: Touch Screen Turns Back On During A Call And Hangs Up / Fix It
This is a HUGE problem! During a call, when I put the phone by my left ear, my ear and/or my cheek touch the screen, and though one would expect the buttons on the touch screen to be disabled during a call, when held against the ear and the face, I keep accidentally hanging up calls or in some other occasions, muting, having frustrated monologues to myself, thinking that the other person is ignoring me... I mentioned using the left ear, because, it seems to have always happened when I held the phone by my left ear and not when I held it by my right ear. I'm trying to find a more elegant solution, as dropping numerous calls is not an option. (today I dropped more than 15 calls). Any suggestions?
