More than half the time, android market stalls On downloads. It gets as far as "starting download" but then nothing happens. It doesn't even time out,it just acts as if the download wasn't even happening. The problem is it's inconsistent, and then seeming goes away ion its own after 10 minutes
I am unable to check my gmail nor download anything on the market. I am constantly having to turn my phone off and back on to get these working. Sometimes 5+ times a day. I have all of the sync options turned on and my phone still struggles to sync my gmail. This is getting quite frustrating. Anyone else having the same issues? I know a lot of people have talked about the market issues, but I haven't heard anything about anyone else having the same problems with their gmail.
Someone raised the issue to me that Samsung blocks non-market apps. I thought I heard that about at&t or other samsung phones. With all the satisfaction with this phone I couldn't imagine that this would be the case. The Epic 4g can/will run apps just the same as the EVO (no rooting involved), no unexpected restrictions?
I bought this phone 2 months ago and was never able to connect to the Market. NOw i cancelled my insurance and Sprint tech support cant help me. I have a Gmail account but it keeps giving this message " Cant establish a realiable data conncetion to the server" You tube and the Internet work just fine.. Ive tried turn off the phone and taking out the battery
So about a week ago I randomly can no longer download anything from the ap store, even updates. I just get the notification, "Download unsuccessful". this is been a week now; and I've turned phone on/off...I use LauncherPro as my launcher if that even matters...but haven't really messed with any settings anywhere...I'm on a 3G good network, and hadn't had any problems downloading or updating aps in the past...any ideas?
One side effect I've noticed from the recent update: it seems like some apps are just gone from the Android Market. The one I know for sure is the MLB.com At Bat 2010 app. AppBrain still lists it (in fact, it shows that it got a price drop about 10 hours ago), but scanning the QR code, searching for it in the Android Market, even trying to install it from AppBrain all lead to the same thing: The item could not be found. I don't know if this is happening with other apps or not. I do know for sure that the MLB.com At Bat 2010 app was there before the update as I was trying to decide whether I was justified in spending the money to listen to the playoff games at work. But now it's just gone without a trace.Anyone else notice this or other apps missing?
Some Epics appear to have issue with the market when the gmail account is added to the device. After setup they will not be able to download apps in the market. Possible fixes have been RTN and or to create new gmail account, however found this fix and tested and works.

I was just downloading the Firefox for Android (Beta), but it was terribly slow (of course, probably millions of people are doing it too!), so I just got impatient and cancelled the download. Now I'm trying to start the download again, but the "file already exists", so it won't let me download unless I change the name of the file. but I'd rather not change it. Is there a way to search for the incomplete file and erase it?
I just got my Epic 4G yesterday! Can anyone tell me the (simple) steps to follow to load a new ringtone file(s) to my Epic? I have the file in my Mac. What file type should it be? What folder should I put it into? I previously owned a PalmPre and it was quite simple...
Today, I set my Epic to 4G Hotspot activation. Then I setup my Apple Itouch to connect WiFi with my Epic. I ran Speedtest.net app on my Itouch. This is with my Epic connected to 4G. Apple Ipod Touch 64 gb: (in kbps) DL UL 255 871 341 899 263 892 225 880
Are these good speeds Hotspot? It seems like Download is kinda slow, although Upload speed seems good. With the same tower and still connected with my Itouch (but Itouch not running any program), my Epic got: DL UL 5818 1104 This is the typical speeds that i get with 4G connection with my Epic. Is my Hotspot speeds Ok?
I want to be able to download and install my app from my website, but when i do this at the moment i get the error:-
Download unsuccessful - Cannot Download. The content is not supported on the phone.
After looking into this it became apparent that the PHP Magic, that handles the downloads from the website, recognises the file as a .zip file rather then a .apk file and sends the it a .zip, that the phone does not recognise.
Does anyone know a way to get PHP Magic to recognise the file as an apk so that file extension does not get changed and the phone can recognise it?
I need to download the Quake II Demo Pak0.pak so I can put it in the quake 2 folder so I can play quake II on my phone. But no. My phone won't let me download anything through the browser. No matter what it is, or where it is, I can't access anything that starts with "FTP". Also, I can't access the megaupload download server, I can't download things from my email. I can't do any of that. When I use allftp and I put in an ftp site, it asks for a username and password even if the ftp is public. How can I download a freaking file?
I recently upgraded to a rooted 2.1 system and all worked well for about a week, including use of the Market. But now I can't download anything from the Market at this point. I've tried every solution I've seen on this and other forums, but nothing has solved the issue. I've tried rebooting through recovery, pulling out the battery, starting Google Talk (apparently that helps with other phones), checked the 'okay to download third-party apps/unknown sources' mark in settings, and cleared the cache out of every application. I've uninstalled every application I've downloaded in the last 3-4 days.
However, I can't find the Market app to clear the cache - would seem like if I cleared the cache from the Market app, that might do the trick. I remember seeing it as an manageable app in 1.5, but it's not showing in 2.1.
Is the Market app in 2.1 hidden somehow? I've used Root Explorer, ASTRO and the stock apps manager but none show the Market program as an application.
Also, are there other suggestions I haven't tried?
The reason it's an issue right now is because I removed the mms.apk program (moved it to the SD card, but it won't re-install -- tried ASTRO and Root Explorer) and was using Handsent SMS exclusively for texting. But Handsent had some problems so I uninstalled it and was about to re-install it but now I can't successfully download anything from the Market. So, I have no texting ability right now.
I just got my vibrant today and everything works perfectly but, I can't download anything from the market. It says starting download and just gets stuck there. the phone is rooted and idk if that's the problem.
I'm rooted and just flashed Super Clean rom from Rom Manager. When I go to update current apps or download new ones, it says "Starting download..." and never stops! After looking this problem up and reading other people's posts who have had similar problems, I've tried clearing all cache and data related to any Google-based app. I've done multiple nandroid backups over the past few weeks and have tried restoring back to them. I've tried factory data reset both from Settings-->Privacy and also from recovery mode in CWM. I'm out of ideas.
Here's one that I can't seem to find anywhere, even when digging. Is there an EQ (audio equalizer) app or tool for d/l currently on the Moment? I do like to use it for music, but as of right now my PSP sounds better, but i'd like to leave that at home when I head off to school. It's kinda clunky, and it'd be more desireable to only have to take one thing with me. Don't get me wrong, the sound is fine on the Moment, it's just..... not what I want it to be. I'm a perfectionist in almost everything I do.Is there an EQ app or tool currently available for download in the market? If so, what is it called?
