Samsung Fascinate :: Phone Factory Resetting Itself

Oct 4, 2010

Fascinate is factory resetting itself at random times, seems to be occurring only when corporate outlook account is added to the phone. started happening last night, the phone reboot itself and reformatted the drives, so upon reboot everything was erased. I re setup the phone and it did it again like an hour later. I re setup the phone a second time, only I did not add the work outlook email and it went all day long today without resetting. I'm worried if I add the work email account the phone will reset again. BTW the work email account was on the phone before with zero issues.

I had to do a complete reset of my phone to factory defaults as it turned out to be very sluggish latelly. Any recommendations as to what to do not to do, download not to download, or things to do first before reloading all my applications without getting back to a sluggish phone? Of course the best thing that could happen is to get 3.0 or whatever... Nah, that ain't gonna happen... The next best thing is to upgrade my phone...but... that aint gonna happen for me either for at least another 6 months...

Motorola Milestone :: Would Factory Resetting Lock It Again

Mar 13, 2010

Got a unlocked Telus Motorola Milestone off Ebay about 2 weeks ago. Been working on AT&T and I loved it.

This morning... no data. It was just NOT working. Put the sim in another device, same drill. Got on chat with a AT&T employee... no go.

Went to the local store, new sim, still no. Employees sim card... no. Finally we played with the APN settings and some mobile web sites kinda work using proxy settings, but not full ones. Basically... I'm screaming inside.

While troubleshooting this morning, I factory-reset my milestone. Would factory resetting "lock" it again? Or once you carrier unlock, is it unlocked for good?

I'm have a some minor things that are not right and I'm wondering if a Factory Reset would help or be worth it.

1. keep syncing phone book over 3g (even if on wifi) sometimes 3 or 4 time in a 5 min span and even if background sync is off
2. random power downs
3. no market update (is this something I need to do manually?)
4. Sometimes 3g and wifi on at the same time.

When you update to 2.2, will 2.2 also be "baked" in internal memory so that whenever you hard reset you will always go to 2.2 status? I think it is, but please clarify?

HTC Hero :: Phone Restored Itself To Factory Settings - All Stuff Gone

Nov 15, 2009

I got a new Hero about a month ago. Last weekend, it basically restored itself to factory settings. All my contacts are gone, all the apps I downloaded had gone, text messages, calendar, the lot. It was as if I had pushed a button and reset the phone. Now, little by little, stuff has come back. I logged back into my google account and I would assume the calendar syncs with the google calendar as all my appointments are back. The Google account also remembered which apps I had and I redownloaded them. However, the contacts and the text messages have never come back. Is this a known issue? Is my phone possibly faulty and needs to be returned? I'm so confused. I do love this phone but I am not putting up with a phone which I cannot rely upon.

HTC EVO 4G :: Rooting - Back Up Factory Settings In Order To Exploit

Nov 4, 2010

I am big with games so I have been wanting to get an overclocking app for the Evo, but all I could find on the Market are apps for the Droid X/2. Is CPUSet the only (or the best) overclocking app for the Evo and what is the max speed you can safely overclock it? I have not rooted my phone, and just learned in order to even overclock it you need to do so. From what I have read on the forums, rooting the phone removes the warrenty. What I have not been able to find is how you back up the factory settings in order to "exploit" this if something happens to the phone in the future. This talks about it a little, but I didn't find any specifics. Quick INTRO TO ROOTING for those new to rooting

Another question I have is how much space do you actually save when it comes to rooting? Some people mainly root just gain complete control of the phone, others to increase/decrease speed and battery life, and some to save space getting rid of things like the Sprint NASCAR app. The Evo has 1G of internal memory, correct? Right now with the different apps I have installed I have 200-250mb free. I never checked what it was out of the box before installing anything, anyone have an answer there? Last question I have is with the different operating systems available. As said in the above thread (link), there are pros and cons with each (Baked, Fresh, etc.). Can anyone tell me of some for each, or is there a thread you can point me to that already does? I could only find info on Cynogon or whatever it's called.

HTC Incredible :: Downloaded New Update - Phone Went Back To Factory Settings

Nov 14, 2010

Yesterday my Droid Incredible kept telling me there was an update to my phone. I waited until 8 or 9 hours later and then did the update last night. EVERY single app, contact, messgae, email...everything is GONE...the phone is like the day I got it. I had no warning and I'm beyond devastated. I've reloaded my personal email and some apps I remember, but I cannot tell you how upset I am.

One of the biggest problems is I don't know what I don't have? I had so many apps, and I don't have a record of them.

Is there some way to back up everything on the phone, all settings, etc, to a website so this never happens again? I am NOT rooted and a I have Froyo 2.2
