so I've looked around but don't see any threads on this....but newho, onto the question. has anybody been able to sync their contacts via ATT online Address Book? I've seen like 5 completed syncs in the log, out of prolly 30 total attempts. Either way, i cant log in to check the contacts online. I get this: LOGIN FAILED Please activate your AT&T Address Book using your mobile phone. Check to see if your phone is compatible or select FAQ to learn more about AT&T Address Book.
My calendar syncs in only one direction: in other words if I enter an event on my PC in google calendar, it shows up on my phone...but if I enter the event on the phone first, it doesn't sync to my google calendar online..is that normal?
I've checked my phone's sync settings, synced several times, logged in and out of Gmail online to see if anything has been updated. No such luck. Icon by phone numbers saved on phone is a cell phone, rather than the letter "G" which typically represents contacts pulled from Gmail online. I've had this issue - I believe - with my previous Samsung. Although I've seen this question brought up before, the answers are typically not device specific or have not been useful and clear to follow.
As a new user, I had difficulty negotiating this site and finding the best place to post this. There is not an LG Optimus L9 Forum so, if there is a location where this post might encourage more visibility.
So it's my understanding that I'm supposed to be able to sync with Facebook and it will pull profile pics into my contacts as well as profile links. Is this correct? If so, I can't get it to work. I had installed the FB app and had the issue with it creating multiple profile links in contacts that would all take me to my page. After reading here I deleted it and just synced with SNS settings. Now I have nothing. No FB links, no pics, nothing. How can I get this to work?
I've had the phone going on two weeks this Sunday and I still can't get Facebook to sync the contacts. It always says: "Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly." I was wondering if anyone else had this problem but was finally able to get a sync to occur by doing some tricky steps or something?
I cleaned up my contact list, rearranged and merged a few etc etc but now those changes are not trickling down to my phone over wifi or 3g. It has been a week and still no luck. Even if I manually sync, I still do not see the changes...
I cannot seem to get my facebook contacts to sync. When i setup the account it sucessfully syncs the calendar but has an error while trying to sync contacts. It says "Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly." It has been saying this for 3 days. I have reinstalled Facebook, Reset the phone, everything.
I have my Captivate hooked up to my company's Exchange server via ActiveSync. All is good there. My problem is that the handsfree bluetooth system in my car will only sync contacts with the Captivate's built-in Phone address book (vs the "Corporate" address book in Contacts Display Options).Right now, I have been exporting Corporate Contacts to the SD card and then importing them from the SD card into the Phone contacts. This can be a chore when I have to add/modify/delete a contact in my Corporate contacts as I have to delete all the Phone contacts and then redo the export/import every time there is a change. Is there anyway to sync changes automatically between the Corporate address book and the Phone address book? Am I overlooking something really simple?
Is there any simple way to Sync it with my Outlook contacts and calendar? Also, can I connect it to my PC and tranfers photos and music directly or do I need to use special programs? If I want to transfer PDF's or Office Documents can I do that as a drag and drop?
I have sync turned on, and have selected contacts and phone. I can access the gmail account from my phone and my PC. When I press the sync button on the phone, the green arrows spin and it syncs.......or so it says. But when I go to my gmail account on my PC, and go to "Contacts", it says there aren't any.
Anyone aware if there will be a samsung software to sync outlook (calendar, contacts and tasks) to the Captivate? I actually own an Iphone 3G and the sync is verry smooth. I want to to leave apple but I'm reallyt concern about being able to sync my outlook (without exchange).
I am going to be getting a Captivate this week but had a quick question for those more experienced Android users. I am still rocking my Blackberry 8310, and have really enjoyed how seamlessly I have been able to sync my contacts and calendar with my Macbook programs (ical and address book). I am curious if I will enjoy the same simplicity the Captivate, or rather the Android software its running, as I do with my Blackberry.
The main problem I am having is syncing with Google Calendar. It shows it hasn't synced since August 20th. It is checked to sync and shows the sync (circle with arrows) symbol but it never syncs. In contrast, my GMAIL is having no problems syncing...only the calendar. My wife and I share our gmail account to keep calendar's in sync and it happens on her phone too.
Is there a way for me to have my events on my calendar synced directly with my Google Calendar in order to get email notifications of what I have on my schedule? I used to have this ability with the ipod touch, and since this is a GOOGLE Android phone, you would think it would be possible here.
I'm using the email app that came installed on my AT&T Captivate to check my gmail and Exchange email but I also setup the gmail app in order to sync with my gmail contacts and calendar. I now get my gmail in both apps, is there a way to stop the gmail from retrieving my email without affecting sync with contacts and calendar?
Can I stop the gmail app from running all the time if so how? everytime i check task killer i have both email apps running.
I have a Droid, and my friend just got a Samsung Epic, so I am trying to show him things. He has a google account (not a gmail account, not a google apps - a Google account with his own email address). He wants to sync his contacts and calendar. On my Droid, I go to accounts & sync > add account > Google > enter my address and password.i get offered to sync Calendar and/or Contacts, by clicking on the check box.On his Epic, he adds the account, but there are no options, no check boxes! Is this different somehow? It works fine with his gmail, but not his generic Google account. On my Droid it all works fine and everything is in sync.
Since I don't have google contacts I can't get voice dialing to work.. Does anyone know if Voice Dialing works with Froyo? I think its kind of crazy that my Motorola Razor had voice dialing stock and this does not.
I kinda accidentally sent a pic there, they sent a text message back confirming, but looks like it's an add-on service (as in more $).I'd rather it be that easy to upload pics to Google Picasa.Still trying to figure out how the gallery works.. it's grabbing images from my inside my emails.
What exactly does joining contacts do?I have joined all my duplicates and contacts from different lists together so there's only one entry per person. If I go on them, they're all listed under my Google Account under my email address. however some of them I merged on my phone aren't merged on gmail contacts.
And I see all the names now of my list, but the numbers aren't saved.. just their name, sometimes their email address..I'm currently on an old T-Mobile G2 but getting N4 soon..
