Samsung Fascinate :: Phone Factory Resetting Itself

Oct 4, 2010

Fascinate is factory resetting itself at random times, seems to be occurring only when corporate outlook account is added to the phone. started happening last night, the phone reboot itself and reformatted the drives, so upon reboot everything was erased. I re setup the phone and it did it again like an hour later. I re setup the phone a second time, only I did not add the work outlook email and it went all day long today without resetting. I'm worried if I add the work email account the phone will reset again. BTW the work email account was on the phone before with zero issues.

Samsung Moment :: Resetting Factory Defaults

Jul 9, 2010

I had to do a complete reset of my phone to factory defaults as it turned out to be very sluggish latelly. Any recommendations as to what to do not to do, download not to download, or things to do first before reloading all my applications without getting back to a sluggish phone? Of course the best thing that could happen is to get 3.0 or whatever... Nah, that ain't gonna happen... The next best thing is to upgrade my phone...but... that aint gonna happen for me either for at least another 6 months...

Samsung Fascinate :: Export My Settings - Like Saving With Clockwork

Nov 10, 2010

A few friends of mine purchased the Fascinate after I got one. I've been supporting their and try to keep them loaded up with all the same customizations that I use. I am wondering if there is a way to export my settings (like saving with Clockwork) but having all of my personal information wiped from the build. Is this possible? How do people create the images we typically download? Would love to be able to load up all the free apps I use and have them be pre-installed if I flash a friends phone.

Samsung Galaxy S :: Firmware Update Via Kies Wiped All Personal Data And Applications

Sep 13, 2010

I would have thought that a firmware update via Kies would preserve user data, contacts, apps I paid for from the market, phone settings etc. But after going from I9000DXJF4 to I9000DXJG4 using that appalling excuse for software (Kies) I have a completely empty device with just stock standard apps. No warnings to click through about wiping data, no strange error messages on the device. Is this normal? If so I might as well put my SIM card back in my iPhone until there is a consensus build of Froyo out for the Galaxy S as re-downloading and resyncing everything each time.

Motorola Milestone :: Would Factory Resetting Lock It Again

Mar 13, 2010

Got a unlocked Telus Motorola Milestone off Ebay about 2 weeks ago. Been working on AT&T and I loved it.

This morning... no data. It was just NOT working. Put the sim in another device, same drill. Got on chat with a AT&T employee... no go.

Went to the local store, new sim, still no. Employees sim card... no. Finally we played with the APN settings and some mobile web sites kinda work using proxy settings, but not full ones. Basically... I'm screaming inside.

While troubleshooting this morning, I factory-reset my milestone. Would factory resetting "lock" it again? Or once you carrier unlock, is it unlocked for good?

General :: Factory Resetting Kaya Tablet

Apr 17, 2014

I got a Kaya Android tablet which was lock after the user entered wrong pattern several times. The tablet presents the unlock with gmail screen but, guess what!, it does not connect to any even public unencrypted WiFi so that it is impossible to unlock with gmail account.

I tried to connect to it from adb via USB but it does not recognized as ADB device, only as USB mass-storage.And, finally, magic key combinations like power-volume-up does not give me any recovery or boot loader.

Is it the stage where I go and throw it to garbage or there is something else left?

This is with constant emails but no wireless, bluetooth, or gps. This is better than I was getting under windows mobile.

General :: Factory Reset Is Resetting Current ROM To Original State

May 23, 2012

When I do factory reset (which means the same as 'wipe', right?) it does resetting current installed ROM to its original state, right?

So, let's say I am doing factory reset the first time (so currently my phone has store ROM installed) so factory reset will revert all the changes in the installed ROM (such as settings, installed apps, all the data) to its original state - which the phone had since it got ROM installed.

But If I got root (which means I replaced secured kernel with unsecured one) and I installed another customized ROM and for some reason I want to do factory reset again - what's gonna happen?

Will factory reset revert original store ROM back or it will revert manually installed ROM (customized ROM) to its after installation?

And as far as I understood factory reset does nothing with kernel? It only affects ROM? So in the second case , when I use non-store ROM and I am doing factory reset - nothing will happen with my unsecured kernel?
