when I play a song I don't get any album artwork. Is there a secret to this or does the default player not support this. The art work shows up in Itunes. Anyone know of any music app that is better than the stock one?

This is my second DX as my first was acting up and I remember that on my first DX all I did was drag the song title into the DCIM folder and everything would appear, music and artwork. On my second DX I did the same thing but no artwork this time around.I have lots of music and it would be nice to have the artwork come up

The music player I wasn't to impressed with though so I downloaded Mixzing. I love the app, it works great and is very smooth. But I was wondering how can I get album artwork into this app.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am using WMP to sync pics, vids and music to the phone and noticed that the album art looks horrible (low definition). I always added my own album art to iTunes and on the iPhone it looks clear and crisp. I figure that iTunes optimizes the photo for the iPhone but i'm trying to now optimize it for the Captivate and am running into a wall.Has anyone else experienced this and fixed the problem?

This doesn't happen to songs in English, but in Korean (Not all songs though). I tried renaming, changing song info. My best guess is the locale/text setting.
How do I get album artwork on my media player? I currently only have the note symbol. I can't find any options in the music player.

View 2 Replies View Relatedso i added album art to most of the mp3s i've got on my galaxy and started the music player had to wait a while for the player to index all the files and i had to start playing a track from each of the albums for the cover art to update i later added a couple more albums to the phone (via usb) and the player had to index everything all over again, only this time it doesn't recognize a lot of the album art it did previously? what's up with that? i'm still on ig9; does it work better on newer firmware? (any word on when a new one is released? i5 is still the newest, right?)

Yesterday I did it by clicking each individual song in my folder through usb connection, which would then open up in iTunes where I edited each song and dragged the artwork in it. Although this worked, some album art looks blurry on the phone when I play the song and it did take quite some time through this process. Second, has anyone noticed the new Swype that came with the recent phone update is bad? Now it's hardly lenient on your tracing path and you pretty much have to trace it perfectly and slow to get the word. Also, is there a way to get rid of the dialog box that pops up when it says for example, "the word 'dude' is hidden by the word 'dide', to delete 'dide' do such and such"? It's getting really annoying popping up after many words in the same paragraph.

View 34 Replies View RelatedI'm afraid to root my phone and I understand that's the only way to get rid of the default music app on my captivate. If I can't get rid of it, is there a way to make it a lame duck and set another player as my default player.
Here's why:
I recently installed Playerpro which has all the features I need in a music player but when I press the headset buttons (which I need for my daily walks) it automatically starts my default music player, which I never use. Granted this may be in an issue with the app as Mixzing and others don't have this issue but is there anyway to set defaults on my droid.
I cant get my music player to shut down. This happens periodically and it gets really annoying (and embarrassing when Im in class). I searched and read the only way to shut it down is to use the exit/return at the full screen music player and then go to your app killer. Even if I follow these steps and then unplug my headphones the music player will usually 'turn back on' and start playing music at full blast out of my speaker..How can I kill this thing once and for good? btw im using advanced task killer.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI use MediaMonkey to edit all of my mp3 files so that all my artist, album, year, track number, album art, etc is correct. Today I added an artist (Dub_Fx) with 2 albums and one single to my Droid; the single's album art showed, as well as one of the albums, but the other album's album art isn't showing at all, but I used the exact same method for all of the files. Each mp3 has an imbedded image file saved to the tag, each of them 350x350 images, and none of the mp3 files are protected either. Other programs on my computer show the album art correctly (and I've deleted the images from my computer, just to make sure they were saved to the tag and still show properly), but for some reason it won't show for that one album on the Droid's music player. I've even tried changing the album art to something else, copy over to the Droid, change the album art back, rewrite, and still nothing at all.
View 11 Replies View Relatedreturned my first Cappy today, for a plethora of reasons (Battery, GPS incredibly unsnappy 1ghz processor that my previous iphone 4 crushed) among others. But this one seems to be a happy and healthy cappy so far. Anyway, running in to an issue. I have all of my music in itunes, but converted it and just housed it in windows media player when i took my iphone back and got the captivate. When I put my music on the captivate, I get all kinds of crazy file names, numbers, squiggles and the like. It's showing me the actual file and not what I've tagged it as, so I have very few artwork, cd names, and track names there. I've tried to sync music 2 ways:
1) Hook cappy up to pc under media player mode and sync through windows media player
2) sync with itunes agent
Both methods got the same results. I like my music libary to be smooth and organized, but i can't figure out how to change the files names to what I want! Should i get mp3 tagging software? if so, which kind? Can I just change the name in windows? It's kind of making miss my iphone!
Ive searched around and havent seen an answer for this one yet. all my music is tagged correctly and it plays fine with every other music player, but the samsung music player will recognize some tags and the rest it just files under "unknown" but then it lists all the info under the song title, so i have a ton of songs with long titles by artist "unknown." is there a specific type of tag that the samsung player wants? other than that i actually like the stock music player, especially the drop down on the lock screen. is there another player with a neat drop down like that on the lock screen maybe?

The program just boots me to the desktop and I get a message in the task bar stating 'Not Enough Space in Music Database'. I have about 20GB of music stored between the internal and external cards. Both cards have several GB free. The program works perfectly when I choose All, Playlists or Albums. It just doesn't like Artists.
