What are some of your best or most used apps or games (paid or free) with the behold 2. since coming from the g1 I was able to eliminate a few. APP Klaxon alarm- Paid (as Night clock wont work with the phone) (got rid of this as it wouldn't stay on all night) Flashlight- free (use every day) Games Robo defense- Paid (awesome, free or paid version) abduction- Free
I'm running warheads from bh_man first off. I just got apps2sd working tonight, but shortly afterward every app I tried to install would fail install with "installation unsuccessful". After an hour of searching, I decided to clear out the dalvik-cache. Well, I did this and I was able to install apps again. I installed two apps, and I kept getting a force-close on Titanium Backup -root version. I rebooted the phone (Behold 2), and now all of my apps are gone. I've got a bunch of default android boxes, and no working apps. I checked my sd card, and all of the .apk's are still there, but they aren't in the dalvik-cache folder anymore. What's strange is that some of the apps are there, like gstrings and quick system info, but the vast majority aren't, like handcent and beautiful widgets. I don't know what I did, but I'd really like to know how to get them all back. I tried installing handcent from the market, and it says that it can't install it on my phone, so I really need to get this fixed because I really don't want to start all over again.
I have installed several apps that us gps, fandango and weather bug elite to name a few but when it tries to us teh gps to find where i am and set my location it can never find me any ideas why that is?
Not a major issue here, just sometimes when I reboot, when my phone starts back up again my Facebook app is gone and I have to reinstall it. Anyone know what's causing this? I'm using WarHeads but this also has happened on BH_MAN's other ROMs.
When I go to the default contacts from the home screen I can see all of my contacts, including a lot of duplicate entries where one person will have 2 contact cards, 1 with a plain phone number, and 1 with their number labeled "mobile" (... through research found that the plain-numbered versions are probably simcard saved contacts, which can only contain 1 number per contact)all the apps that use the contacts (ie. hancent) refuse to recognize contacts saved in the sim format, so when i get a text from these people it just comes up with their number. All my contacts look fine in Gmail on the web and I even did a "merge contacts" command on duplicates to try and solve the issue. Looks fine on the web but my phone still has all these dupes, any ideas?
I'm using Bearsfan85's custom ROM, but have lost the voice dialer app that was in the Samsung's touch wiz ROM. As this is helpful to avoid car accidents while on the road, I was hoping to get it back. I have the .apk file but ASTRO file manager won't let me install it. I've tried to adb push it but I get a "read-only file error". For whatever reason, the commands "adb remount" or "adb shell sysrw" aren't being recognized, which I think is what I need to do to adb push the voice dialer back onto my phone.Unless of course, the Samsung apps just aren't compatible anymore.
Is there a way to delete unwanted apps on a stock phone? I got an update last week and it came with some stupid trial games that I don't want. When I go into app management to remove it, there is no unistall option. I hate how we are forced to keep some apps.
I am getting this phone soon via winning it from the samsung giveaway.....anyway, the only thing i really want to know is, can we install apps onto a sd card? i really like downloading a lot of apps and wanted to know this
Does anyone know some places that have some good books or video tutorials or just generally good knowledge of creating android apps? If someone can hook me up with some info on at least what I need to know to create android apps that would be very appreciated.
i just bought this phone last week and so far the receptions have been pretty bad compare to my old phone (LG chocolate) are there any apps out there that can increase the ability for the BH2 to get better receptions? or is this t-mobile's problem.
Recently talked Tmobile into sending me a Slide, and letting me keep the BHII. Used one of BH Man's roms to take the BHII back to stock to get it ready for resale. Now, i cannot load any apps onto the phone because it says "not enough memory". Checking the memory settings shows 0 Maximum, 0 available. I've done a factory reset, i've reflashed the rom twice, still no memory.
I'm considering trying one of the ROMs available here for my behold 2.Will I lose all the apps and other user data I have?If so, is there a way to save the apps/information and then restore it after the flash ?I have a few paid apps in particular that I'd prefer not to lose.
This thread is for speeding up android and improving battery life for Behold 2.I learned back in my days of ignorance(iphone days, lol) that by removing certain startup apps, services, and languages you can make the phone faster, and have better battery life, you can do same thing on android.Less services=more RAM,more CPU power, faster os,better battery. Updated Things you will need: Root and Root Explorer app or ADB,there is probably other apps you can use also.
With your Root Explorer or Astro navigate to /system/app folder, cut and paste any service or app that you don't need to a backup folder on sdcard. That way if you removed something that you might need later you can always put it back (NOTE:when you put back apps that you removed don't forget to set permissions, that's the reason i recommend using Root Explorer because other file managers to my knowledge wont let you set permissions on files)..................
as the title says superuser and root for apps is not working. i installed BH_MAN's stock update rom (which was supposed to have root for apps, as far as i know) and cannot use apps requiring root. also superuser doesn't seem to actually be working. Can someone please help? everything else works great! I just need to use apps that require root.
so i am new to android a bit, coming from winmo....is there a way like on winmo to stop running apps to preserve battery life? like turning off data after browsing the web? also what are some tips for using this phone, like maintaining battery life etc.
Alright whats up people I was recently searching through and through for a way to get mobile internet without paying that ridiculous android price so as I was searching I stumbled across a regular behold forum at Samsung Behold Forum - New Proxy (TMobileX (Free Internet!)) - UPDATE: Analysis 01.07.10 -> 1500 Users because someone said free internet for it and I gave it a run to see if it would work with our behold 2 and surely enough it does.
Instructions on how to use proxy: Open up the (default) browser on your Samsung Behold. Type in the following address into the : tmo-x.co.cc/tmobilex/ Type in the address you want to visit in the form on the page and select whether or not you want to use my HTML trick (free; allows you to see sites in full HTML not 'WAP-stripped').
My husband has a Samsung Galaxy S and has noticed some applications pre-installed on the phone that he doesn't want. However he can't delete them! They don't appear in his list of applications. He's tried going into applications, menu, edit. But only some of the applications (and not the ones he wants to get rid of) have the red no entry sign.
After many attempts to try and use the terminal emulator that is already preloaded onto the behold 2 , and many failures..After trying out different Terminal Em.'s and always having my phone lag because they wernt made for it...i have finally found a way to get terminal emulator working with no lag or no slow down in performance... First you must have root,of course, Next, Use an app called root explorer or something similar and goto the folder /system/app/ and find the two files Term.apk and Term.odex, and MOVE them to your sd card from your phone, you want them gone from your system/app folder After that simply goto the market and search for Terminal Emulator , re-download and there you have it, Working term. em. on the behold 2.Peace Ladz.
I have just recently bought a Behold 2 with the price drop. I like the phone except that it is very slow. So i would like to root it and run a factory1.6 no twiz rom on it, but I'm having issues while doing it!....
I was succesfully able to get adb to detect my phone serial. but whenever I type in: adb shell /data/local/try3 /system/bin/sh
This phone has the WORST idea for an sd slot. When trying to take out my sd card, i took off the cover that holds the sd card.I could use some pictures on how its supposed to look when connected. I have been trying to put it back on and all I ended up doing was bending it.I got my hands on an HTC Leo Windows mobile 6.5. Best implementation of an SD card slot ever.
