Samsung Behold 2 :: "Device Not Recognized" / Connecting Phone To Computer Via USB?
Dec 21, 2009
I want to connect my Behold 2 to my computer (Windows XP) via USB so that I can transfer mp3's. When I plug the USB I get the message "usb device not recognized". Does anybody know how to get past this?
The mounting and unmounting of the sd card, I read up and Ordered a class 6 verbatum card. But the big Issue is my windows will not recognize the behold 2. When I hook it up it tells me usb device not recognized then inside it says Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43) Port_#0006.Hub_#0005. I have tried to install the usb drives I found on this site but it will not allow them to install. I have gone in and deleted My upper and lower system file in the registry.
I have bought a new cable < universal> I did not have the OEM cable and Samsung refused to send me one said it was tmobiles responsibility. I have hooked it up to a Vista 32 bit system and nothing. Also when I hook it too the usb it only shows charging no usb notification on the screen. I seem to remember reading it should have a usb symbol on the upper right corner? I have also already set the system setting to usb mass storage.
How much I love my new refurbished Incredible. The wonderful dust under the screen due to crappy reassembly, and the oh so amazing USB Errors. Seriously, any suggestions why it won't connect to my computer? I wanna bust out my 32 gig SD.
I followed this tutorial exactly: How to Root - Android Forums
1) i downloaded/installed the drivers
2) i unpackaged the rootkit onto the sdcard
3) i executed start_root.bat
4) the script(s) ran and the phone rebooted.
now, when i connect the phone to the computer (any computer) via usb, it isn't recognized. this is the main problem. i also downloaded rom manager, and it says i do not have root.
when i run start_root from the tutorial now:
************************************************** **************************** * * * Dirrk's EZ Root v0.2 (Sebastien Krahmers Exploit) * * * ************************************************** **************************** * * Testing if your device is connected * * daemon not running. starting it now * * daemon started successfully * List of devices attached
* * If you are NOT connected please follow these directions * Install the correct drivers * Turn On Debugging * Check usb port, cable and phone
Is there a good and comprehensive way of getting the Behold 2 recognized by Linux (ubuntu 9.10)? I have the SDK installed and everything works but I don't Know how to get Ubuntu to recognize my phone, when I do ./adb devices it comes up empty.
I don't know if this is a common problem with the Behold 2 or not, but my phone isn't automatically reconnecting to wifi after waking up from sleep.I have to manually toggle the wifi switch to off and then back on for it to reconnect.I'm using Warheads Rom with new kernal if that helps at all.
I am using windows 7 64 bit the phone has been rebooted, factory reset, usb debug is on and so is pc studio and I am using the stock theme even though panda is installed. & is recognizing it as a Galaxy but fast boot and adb can't see it. Any one got an idea whats going on? I would like to pull away from the stock from on this good phone.
SO I flashed my BH2 to Eugenes 1.6 for galaxy rom and now my external sd card...yeah, the 2 GB one that came with the phone, is being recognized as the internal sd card....and there is no setting i can find to fix it. I formatted the sd card and reformatted it, but to no avail...still comes up when inserted into the phone as an internal sd card. b/c of this issue, i cant save pretty much anything to my phone, b/c many apps require an external sd source to save to.
I am working on putting the new update on my wifes phone and I already installed the drivers needed on my windows xp but everytime I plug in my wifes moment it says USB device not recognized. One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned! I've tried everything I installed from sprint download site. I have tried Samsung studio. Also the tethering site. Also just the drivers nothing seems to work.
So my phone was working fine up untill i did the update. now i plug my phone in and it says "USB Device not recognized" clicked on the message and the pic is what it said. its on 2 different computers too. tried un and reinstalling Kies, Drivers, Re-started,

I want to root my Samsung Moment so that I can put Live Wallpapers on it and such, but every time I go to DL mode my computer says "USB Device Not Recognized" I have tried with and without USB Debugging on, install uninstall Drivers, going to REGEDIT to erase SAMSUNG drivers, formatting my phone, two different USB cables, three machines, and yet IT-STILL-WONT-WORK. I have tried on XP 64/32 and on 7. I have Eclair.DE03 Kernel 2.6.29 Firware 2.1 -Update1
Trying to connect a HTC Hero to my computer, it used to connect ok as i used to use the phone as a modem for my laptop, but now instead of the charger light coming on & charging and the little symbol saying it was connected in the top elft of the screen it ONLY charges the phone but the little symbol doesnt come up in the top left and i cant find the device on my computer, iv tried new cables etc but still no joy, any ideas?
i got an S3.. and my computer has xp pro. i had to restore my computer recently from a saved image of my system. before i restored my computer, i was able to connect my S3 to it via USB with no problem. but after i restored it, i'm unable to.
i downloaded and installed the MTP driver, which got my computer to recognize my phone before i restore it. but now its not working and i dont see it listed in Device Manager. whats weird is that when i connect my S3 to my computer, the phone doesnt give any notifications that the phone is connected to USB like it used to before. and it also doesnt give me the 2 options of connecting by either MTP or Camera. all it does is charge my phone.
So I tried to update my phone from home a few days ago. It didn't work. I got to the Volume Down+Camera+End step and plugged in the USB and it said "USB device not recognized." Something like that. I tried for about an hour, restarting PC, toggling USB debugging, and turning off the phone. After that, I got fed up and deleted the update software from my desktop and told my mom to take me to Sprint next weekend.
My Samsung s3 phone says usb device connected not recognized when i connect to any PC even though other phones similar to mine does connect. i have tried many tricks from different sources but it still doesn't work. when i connect it in the custom mode by starting the phone with pressing Home/power and volume buttons it is recognized and says device ready to use but the moment i swict the phone in normal mode it goes back to not recognized.
So I have a Samsung Vibrant (just got it recently) and I'm having problems when i connect it to the computer. It gives me an USB device not recognized on my windows 8 computer. I have spent all morning searching and reinstalling drivers and trying my old pc and new cables and i found out that my old windows 7 computer with 4GB of ram and an overloaded hard drive will detect my device the problem there is it not my main computer and i don't want to have to connect all the vga cables boot it up connect mouse and ets to use this computer just to be able to copy files, and do other things from my computer to my phone I don't know why my main computer dell inspiron windows 8 will not work when it was a couple of days ago when i had a problem with connectivity and had to flash back to stock but now it wont connect.
Here's a list of things i've tried installing kies installing adb again aoi tool and then drivers a bunch of different drivers found on the forums different usb cable
tried usb debugging tried it off.. when i plug it in nothing will pop up that will say it is. it will charge.. but thats about it. it wont let me change from pc mode to mass storage.. upgraded drivers.. tried Motorola media link.. tried turning it off with the sd card unmounted.. tried removing the battery.. did a hard restore. i tried on 3 computers in my house. nothing seems to be working out. all i want to do is put a video from my phone to my pc.
I have no idea where to go to get these (probably routine, simple) questions asked. Thanks for answers/links. I just purchased my phone and I'm really excited. And nervous, is that weird? 1. I have a MacBook Pro w/ my music on itunes, although I didn't buy any of it through them. Is there any issue with connecting my new phone to my computer and getting my music stuff on it? Is it easy or do I need to read about how to do it from somewhere? FWIW, easy to me = drag and drop, or have it automatically transfer.
1a. I am hoping to replace my ipod touch with this device. Realistic? Or silly dream? 2. What should I do to the phone when I first get it? Are there things Verizon includes that I should delete (like when you first buy a computer and it's preloaded w/ a ton of crap)? Are there things I need to immediately get? 2b. I assume those things I need to immediately get are apps. Can I browse them now w/out the phone or can I only do it from the phone? What are the "must haves"? Is there a website that lists the most popular/useful apps? 3. Is there a good tutorial for how to get the most out of Android? Or do I just monkey around and see what I like/dislike? 4. Should I root this thing? Not quire sure what that means, but it seems to be what the cool kids do. 4b. Other than paying for the teething thing from VZW, is rooting the only way to get that ability?
I got my DInc replaced, and im putting some media back on my phone. When I mounted my phone im getting 3 drives now. E drvie which is my phone storage F drive which is my memory card and a new super secret D drive, which has weird content in it.a program called TL-Bootstrap.exe?? Any ideas of what the hell this is. Trying to connect PC Company via Blue tooth i get to the point where I enter a four digit code on the phone, then immediately receiving a message on my computer that connecting throe blue tooth is not possible, then urging me to use the USB cable. Blue tooth is activated on both items. I'm running Windows 7 on my laptop. Anyone having the same problem or solution to it?
Is there a way to check the contents of the SD card in the Incredible without connecting to a computer? All I can find is how big the SD card is and how much room is left on the card. But like I said, I cant find a way to see what files are on it.
I was trying to setup my adb drivers and sdk and all that so I could root my phone. I was following a tutorial on theunlockr.com. I couldnt get my device to show up so I used "deview" to remove the drivers so i could reinstall them. Now my computer tells me it is unable to locate them.
I just switched to the R8 release and after that I cannot mount the sd card to the computer to transfer files back and forth. I can get adb and odin to recognize the phone just fine and it also charges off the connection just no mounting for the card.
i'm about to do the odin 1.6 update and i've never done anything like this on a phone before. my question is, will all my contacts and pictures and such still be on the phone after i do the update or will i have to back them all up someway ( pics to computer, contacts to sim or paper)?
i just got my second captivate, the first would never connect to my computer the second one (the one i have right now) connects to my laptop but my computer wont recognize the device, bottom line is that i cant connect it to my computer.
