I have milestone for 3 days good phone, camera performance surprised me expecting worse but...when i am making call display turns off and non of buttons work even i can hear ringing or person who i call then i have to slide phone slightly or fully to switch display-phone on.it wasn't working since the beginning but when i installed task manager it was working properly almost one day, next day again bad.the same story after hard reset.
I've got an HTC Desire from a T-Mobile store 3 weeks ago. The ambient light sensor has never worked and it's enabled on the display settings.
I went back to the T-Mobile store and they tried a brand new unit. Unfortunately, that one also seem to have the same issue. Then I called the HTC technical support and they say there are no reports on such kind of issue.
If not, does the display brightness get adjusted quickly or slowly?
I have a HTC Hero here, and when I tried to get the list of available sensors on the device by calling ((SensorManager) getSystemService (Context.SENSOR_SERVICE)) .getSensorList(Sensor.TYPE_ALL); I get only the following sensors: D/SensorManager( 6302): found sensor: BMA150 3-axis Accelerometer, handle=0 D/SensorManager( 6302): found sensor: AK8973 3-axis Magnetic field sensor, handle=1 D/SensorManager( 6302): found sensor: AK8973 Orientation sensor, handle=2 D/SensorManager( 6302): found sensor: AK8973 Temperature sensor, handle=3 According to the specs, there should be a light and a proximity sensor on the Hero, and I've seen it in action (the automatic screen brightness adjustment) - so at least the ambient light sensor is definitely there. My question is then, why doesn't the getSensorList return for me the light and the proximity sensors?
I am not sure which is the culprit, but while playing back video or even at random times, the screen shifts lighter or darker seemingly at random, and one time during a video playback on the TV.com app, it went black altogether. I am not sure whether it is the timer or the ambient light sensor, but I am tempted to turn the sensor off and push the timer back a lot.
I bought my phone a week ago and there is only one thing that bother me a little- is that back light, which pops up a little from the left side, normal? I've seen on other phones also, but just would like your opinion:
I'm having some troubles with the light sensor on the Nexus One.
AFAIK, the proper way to read the measures of a sensor is registering a SensorListener through the SensorManager and then wait for the readings on the onSensorChanged method.
My main problem is that the light sensor don't seem very accurate (the readings jump a lot) and I don't get the first reading until the lighting conditions change. I have to change the phone orientation, go outdoors or hide the sensor with my fingers or otherwise I don't receive any value. Is there any way to increase the accuracy or, even more important, to force an initial reading?
BTW, I have tried with SensorManager.SENSOR_DELAY_FASTEST but I haven't noticed any change.
When you talk on the phone in Android the light sensor is working. If you cover the top left corner of the screen, the display turns black and you can't see anything. I would like to cancel that feature and I tried working with Android Sensors and the Light Sensor but it is not working. This is my code:
Have an Issue. Whenever i am in a call if i take the phone away from my ear the screen doesnt turn on. It does this 98%of the time or only when i need to use the keypad during a call. It does this in stock form and also using open home. I always keep the screen clean. Is there a fix for this? I am not able to get my bh2 to connect to a pc so i cant root or install custom roms. Also the keyboard lag is rediculous. I tried better keyboard and it was just as bad if not worse.
I am writing a program and I am able to get the light sensor value and current battery level, but only the light value changes and when the battery level changes. Is there a way to get these two values anytime? Like when a user runs my program, I would like to grab the current values right away instead of having to wait for them to change.
i bought a mtk6577 clone s3. My problem is sometimes i rebooted phone, after opening proximity and light sensor doesn't work. screen don't turn off in call and doesn't call the person displayed on screen when i take ear. And battery drains too much. (example: when proximity and light sensor works with %90 battery, when it doesn't work after reboot plummets to %50).Another issue is when i reboot phone, boot animation doesn't show when proximity and light sensors don't work.
I've noticed that when viewing the screen in a darkened room that the screen is actually too dark. Yet in a normal setting that the screen is correctly lit. I've tried increasing the intensity to maximum with the sensor enabled and it's still to dark in the darkened room. Now, I've disabled the sensor entirely and the screen just runs wide open all the time - day or night.
Has anyone else felt that it was too dark in the darkened setting? I'm wondering if there is a setting (probably not yet written for the phone/OS) to vary how linear the light sensor is at darker levels? Maybe a 'minimum darkness' adjustment?
Is anyone having this issue? Friend of mine has the D2. Says the display does not turn off when next to her face and registers any touches.I don't have a D2, so I don't know what the phone options/settings might be.
For the last few weeks my notification light doesn't come on for anything except a low battery. I've seen from other posts here that it only comes on in sleep mode in 2.1, but mine doesn't even come on then. I downloaded LED Tester from the market and those aren't coming up either which has me worried. If this means a VZW swap, backup recommendations?
My light has stopped working. The LED isnt dead, cos I DL'd Missed Call from the Market, and it works with that app, but not when I get a text, tweet or FB invite/msg/event. It flashed green for: tweets and texts and Blue for FB notifications.
After a wipe and upgrade to 2.1 I started having problems with my alarm clock. When I set the alarm to notify me at certain time it won't start at specified time. Once I press the power button it starts sounding the alarm that was set. Any idea what could be going on? Currently I don't have any third party apps installed on my phone.
Over the past 2 days i have noticed that the green led is no longer flashing when i receive an email.Has anyone else got this issue?I cant see a specific option to enable the led, so i doubt i have turned it off (plus it sometimes works).I was thinking of doing a hard reset - anyone got any advice before i do this?
since wednsday I can't use my mobile internet. I checked my APN settings and I didn't find anything which could make any problem. I just use Quick Settings and I used to switch sometimes between on/off in the mobile data. I don't know what's the problem...I even reset my phone and reinstall everything but the mobile internet doesn't work to me. when I tried to enable my mobile data on Quick Settings, for a second the 3G Icon appears on the top of the screen and then it disappears. it looks like something stopps my mobile internet working.
I bought Milestone about 4 month ago. I am looking for a call record application for both incoming and outgoing calls bus so far I haven't found a working one. I tried total recall and phone recorder - didn't work. I know google voice have option to record incoming but not outgoing calls. I heard somewhere that Milestone have this option disabled by hardware anyone knows if this is true? Anyway if anyone can recommended a tested working record app (pay or free I dont care at this point).
I was and I am so excited with my phone. How can I be happy with my phone if some of the basic features are not working properly? I am very frustrated with my phone not because of the bugs but because it really affected my life.
1. Alarm issue, Motorola wants the user to be searching in the forums to find a solution to a core function? I got to work late by 1 hour the first time this occurred. 2. Yesterday suddenly when I unlocked my phone there was nothing on the home screens, and I have the stock home application. I was going right left, and nothing was there! 3. The music player suddenly starts playing. I was in a meeting and suddenly the music player starts playing! What should I say to the other people? There's a bug in my Milestone and Motorola is just too lame to fix it.
Prior to upgrading to 2.1 (UK) today, I used the pattern unlock feature (a great feature) to unlock my phone. After the 2.1 u/g was complete the phone reverted back to the unlock slider + entering a password. So, I head to settings->location & security settings-> phone lock settings. Now the only option I can access is 'Change unlock password', which is fine, but unfortunately the 'use visible pattern' & 'use tactile feedback' options are greyed out....however they each have a green tick against each item which I've taken to assume means they're enabled! If it's enabled where do I enter the pattern?
While I'm here....if I look in applications, filtering on all, for some reason I have three 'Settings Storage' apps for various sizes....this doesn't sound right?
The upload and the search buttons don't seem to be doing anything on the YouTube widget when it's on the home screen. When I actually open the program list and open the YouTube app, the buttons work from there, just not from the home screen widget.
I'm sure I'm not the only one who, upon searching for a particular subject, gets frustrated with all the threads that are labeled with things like: A question about the Milestone" or "I'm really confused" or "New to the Milestone". It would be far more helpful if we could put some hint of the actual subject in the thread title more like: "Email not working" or " Error on sync" or " How can I see how much memory I have" etc. Saves a lot of useless clicking (and waiting) for threads that have nothing to do with what we are looking for. I know we have a search option, but sometimes it's hard to come up with a word or phrase that gets us where we want to go.It's more fun to browse anyway. But, as the forum grows it begins to take a long time to get through a thread. It would be a lot faster without all the dead ends.
