Motorola Milestone :: Way To Send Ringtones?
I'm using the Milestone and I'm having a hard time finding out how to send a ringtone to another phone. My blackberry and pretty much every other phone has the ability to send a song through bluetooth.

when i first got the milestone it worked fine but then it wouldn't send my messages. i can receive sms and surf the web. now when i make calls my 3g just drops and i lose the call. i try ed reseting the phone back to fact settings it worked for like 2 messages.my yahoo messenger works also.

Motorola Droid :: How To Send Ringtones Via MMS?
I have tried looking but can't seem to find any answers, forgive me if i didn't find it but it is out there. But I was figuring with the rooted phone that some developer out there would have been able to work the sending of ringtones(mp3) as a mms. Or has there been a app developed that will be able to do this. Please help. I have to admit that being able to do that has been one of the things that i miss about my blackberry.

Motorola Milestone :: Unable To Send Contacts Through SMS
I just got the phone yesterday, and realized I can send contacts via SMS! I was using the hero before and you could easily do it via vcard.For example, I want to send Mr Jones a contact number of a client, I can easily SMS him through contacts the client's contact numbers(emails and whatnots).However, this feature seems lacking on the Milestone. You can attach just about everything else except a person's contacts!Did I overlook something here? Or it just doesn't come with it?

Motorola Milestone :: Errors With Texting / Unable To Send Texts
I got a Milestone at about Christmas time and have loved it, but now I have one slight issue with it. I can't send a text message, and whenever I attempt to send a message, it simply comes back saying "Message Not Sent". It is highly frustrating.I have been into the Phone Information, under Testing, and it says that my GSM Disconnects is inactive, and the fail is because No Error. This is frustrating and I have no idea how to fix the Problem.This is my last resort before I call my service provider and see what I can do, and I would much rather solve this myself.Any help would be highly appreciated,

Motorola Milestone :: Motorola Milestone Voice Breaks While Speaker Phone Works Fine
I am using Motorola Milestone UK version with AT & T. G Mail and Yahoo etc work fine. Data plan also work perfect wih At&T 2G. AT&T 3 G can not use with Milestone because 3 G band of AT & T is not supoerted by Milestone. However, real problem is that when I call anybody, he always finds my voice breaks on Milestone. When I switch to speaker they find my voice perfect. I can hear their voice clearly. Any body has same problem. Secondly, I would like to dowload "Car Home" app which is available with Droid. It is not available in Market place. When I try to see how it is intsalled in my friend's droid, it shows 0 KB. Does this app is part of Android for Verizon. When I dock the phone in Car dock, as I dont have Car home app so phone does not pop up Navigation window which is part of Car Home. I can use Google Map manually. This is not big problem.

On most of my old phones I was Abel to send ringtones but with my hero I don't even see anywere I might be Abel to do that. I can't even find a folder for ringtones like on my old blackberry it had a folder for ringtons then it gave me options to do with each tone .

Android : Need To Send Ringtones / Sounds VIA Bluetooth - MMS
Ok here is my question. For some reason I can not figure out how to send ringtones or sounds VIA bluetooth, or MMS. I am able to send everything else like pictures or other stuff, but for some reason there is no option to send a sound. WHY? Am I doing something wrong? I searched for hours trying to find something like this on the board but never did find anything.

Is it possible to send music files, ringtones etc via bluetooth to and from the desire? I tried sending a picture from another phone to my handset (desire) and it received okay but when i tried sending a music file, it said sending and receiving but never came through, not even 1% of it.. but screen stayed on receiving part for ages before i got fed up and cut off.

Motorola Milestone :: Milestone Using Battery In 7 Hours - GPRS/3G Data Running Etc
My Motorola has begun to behave strangely. I think they lost the battery too quickly, so I have yesterday installed Netcounter and a Task Manager to see what it may be due. Since yesterday, it downloaded 53 MB of data, including 28 MB today. It's too much, because I have hardly used it for anything but standby. There obviously mail pops up on it, but I read them on my PC. I have not used Google Maps, Web browsing or other things. WiFi is off, but my battery is at 50% (this morning at 7:30 am, it was at 100% - now 4 hours later it's 50%). Last night the Milestone was warm on the backside, but not where the battery is placed, but closer to where the sender/radio is placed. Conclusion: Some programs must be running all the time, 1 hour ago I closed all programs using Task Manager. But now, all these apps seems to be running (according to task manager): *Netcounter Phone Portal Calendar *Handcent SMS **Alarm Clock Music Settings Email (ikke google mail) Maps Media Gallery Bluetooth file transfer Smart Alarm clock Messaging Facebook (jeg bruger ikke facebook widget) MyBackup Corporate calendar (ikke google kalenderen, men en kalender der kan synkronisere med outlook) **CalWidget *Gmail AK Notepad Photoshop.com mobile Practically all programs. I have only used programs marked * ** = programs I can understand if they're running, i.e. widgets Why does all my programs start? And which are using the Internet? I looked at settings -> about phone -> battery usage: android.process.acore: 71% Facebook: 6% display 5% Android system 5% Phone idle 4% Cell standby 3% Google 3% Android os 2% Cell Standby should be >90% since I've not using the phone today. Any ideas? Should I erase all and restart? Or is it because I have not updated yet (still running the 2.0 version from out of the box)

I am unable to use Gtalk, gmail, Maps, Market, Email (all pre installed) using GPRS/EDGE (Vodafone Live) on my Milestone. But All of these works with Wi-Fi connection. I installed Meeboo Messanger, this is also not working with GPRS/EDGE. I called Motorola Customer care, they are saying that I have to take a DataPlan from Vodafone and should ask Vodafone to activate all GPRS/EDGE settings on my mobile. So I took a DataPlan (200 Rs. 100 MB), Vodafone People are saying that all available setting are already activated on my cell. But I am still unable to use any of them above. Every time no network connection found error is coming.

Motorola Milestone :: Milestone Camera Photos Are Half Black
When i take a photo in the dark just using the flash with a close up photo of an object. Half sometimes 3/4 of the screen is black, i have a feeling its and app because i sent it back to motorola and the re-flashed the phone, it was working fine until i restored all my apps using "my backup pro" and now i have the same problem as before.I need to find out which app is causing the problem.I also find that the camera doesnt work at full flash capacity because when i press the camera button to focus the testing flash is alot brighter than the flash it uses to take the actual photo.

Motorola Milestone :: Milestone Doesn't Take Permission To Connect To 3G Internet
I just got a milestone yesterday, and I was fascinated by it. The only thing that kills me, is that it doesn't take permission to connect to the internet. I used to have a Nokia, which always had to take my permission first to connect to 3G internet network. But with the milestone, it doesn't, and I get charged for every single 1kb used I just lost what is equivalent to $10 USD in the last 5 mins for just trying to open Google and download the SlideME app. is there some kind of hidden tasks that uses the internet or something ? One more thing, today morning, I opened facebook after recharging my credit balance with 20 USD. And guess what ? They're all gone too for just opening the home page! if I have an active internet connection, how can I close it ?

Motorola Milestone :: Pop3 Email Crashing Phone Milestone
Everything seems damn fast and it's so simple to set up. Only problem is that I have set up my work e-mail (which sits on a server and is a POP-3 account I think!...can you tell I'm not technical?!?!) using the in-built client on the phone, trouble is that it keeps crashing and has to do a force close on me pretty much every time. I've looked for this same topic in the forum but cant find anything which answers the issue. Is the next software release likely to fix this bug?

Motorola Milestone :: Milestone On Telus Able To Receive Text Pics?
My wife and I both got Milestones about a month ago. So far so good; we're trying to keep up with the kids on technology. Anyways, we discovered we're unable to receive texts with pics, but are able to send them to iphones users (who can receive them). I asked about it at the Telus store, thinking it was a setting or something, and she said "smart phones can't receive pics by text, you have to email them". Doesn't really sound right... The choice to send a pic by text is an option in the menus, and it seems from reading the forums here that at least in the US, it's possible with the droid. So is this a Telus issue? No big deal, we're just wondering what's up. Even our daughter with a non-smart phone can send/receive pics by text.

Motorola Milestone :: Mount Milestone Under Linux Without Media Cradle?
I've got a Motorola Milestone and would like to mount it to my Linux (Suse 11.2) without the use of the media cradle. With the cradle, you pop the phone on, connect your USB cable to the cradle and to the computer, and -- very important! -- switch your cradle from "charge" to "sync". Then your Milestone is immediately recognised as a USB mass storage device and all is fine. But without the cradle? The phone charges from USB but won't talk to my Linux. There is absolutely nothing in the syslogs, so it looks like the phone is not behaving as a USB-enabled device. It seems from the above that I should switch my phone from the charging mode to sync, but does anyone know how to do it?

Motorola Milestone :: SetCPU - Milestone Overclock Best Practice Settings
I have now been using the overclocking function for over a month and would like to report on the settings found to be most effective. I use a combination of apps to achieve excellent battery consumption (1 1/2 days generally). 1. Screebl, set to 15 seconds. 2. Milestone Overclock, set to custom 1000 MHz @ 69 vsel 3. SetCPU general 1000/500 with charge 250/1000 and sleep 250/500 Ive found that the 125 MHz setting does not push enough juice to the radios and i sometimes get glitches with the touch panel/ dialler when SetCPUs ondemand governor is waking up to a call or 3g connection. Also, the lowered vsel value of 69 seems to save a half day's battery as opposed to standard 1000 MHz/ 72 vsel offered by Milestone Overclock. Screebl is a must for anyone who doesnt have it, as its simply the most effective battery manager out there. Would like a five seconds option though

Motorola Milestone :: Connecting To Bluetooth Modem With Milestone
In my quest to have a 3G connection on my new Milestone I first tried to connect to the AdHoc network running on my iPad but I found out that Android phones couldn't connect to AdHoc networks (see Enabling WiFi Adhoc on Milestone ?)...I'm now finding out that they can't connect to Bluetooth modems either...is that correct ? I saw messages saying that PDAnet enabled BT DUN but that's probably only to let other devices connect. I put my iPad AT&T microSIM card in the Milestone using an adapter but Amazon sell the Euro version so it means no 3G in the USA, either with T-Mobile or AT&T.

Can one of you Milestone owners please tell me if you are able to use Bluetooth Voice Dialing since updating to 2.1? In other words, can you pair a BT headset, then hold or double-tap your headset button to initiate a voice call on the Milestone? If so, how is it working? Motorola Milestone :: Milestone Bad Accuracy With Google Navigation?
I just got a milestone and tried out the google navigation, it pegged me int he right city like 4 seconds which is good, but then proceeded to say its only accurate to 5000m and said I was on the edge of town, when I was in fact in the center as a store, is there a way to improve accuracy? does it get better when you go into big cities? Can I change the tracker or something? Does it help if I leave the maps on quicker? I only left it open for about 15 seconds, someone said that the gps tracker is very slow, is there a way to change it? I am planning on rooting this phone very soon so let me know.

My phone keeps rebooting, and vibrates continuously. - Droid Forum - Verizon Droid & the Motorola Droid Forum the phone is instantly booting and vibrating.. here is what caused the problem: I have installed GOT firmware 2.36.0 from G.O.T. SHOLS_U2_36.0 released for UK and Central Europe G.O.T.'s Blog with their open recovery. i've installed all hacks with busybox and it works for me for few weeks. Today i wanted to install app2sd hack. I got to GOT menu, i've split SDCard and install app2SD. After i rebooted my phone it starts to vibrate when "android" screen appears. of course before that i did nadroid backup, but restoring it never helped. And here is what i've already done: I flashed my phone with GOT firmware again, didn't help.. Then i download original sbf 2.36.0 file for central europe with original bootloader 90.74 flashed it to my milestone by rds lite, erase all user data and reboot. phone is still vibrating, sometimes android welcome screen appears (with vibrating all the time) and then reboot again..I tried reboot without sd card, without sim card, i formated sd card back to only fat32, but still this same..

Motorola Milestone :: My Milestone Is Auto-answering Calls
Since I installed "Car Mode" (it should set all calls to speakerphone when enabled), I'm having troubles with my cellphone it's auto-answering all calls and setting to speakerphone (by "didn't work" I mean it keeps auto-answering calls and setting to speakerphone) I'm not sure car mode is the culprit (I installed some other similar programs, but I think it's likely it is) any ideas on how to revert that on the system.

Did you guys notice how the speaker on the Milestone/Droid gets dirty, it's like a magnet for dust and lint, and once it's in there, it won't come out.I just found a little trick to clean it out: 1- Just grab a little amout of "fun-tak" or any other sticky putty. 2- Push it into the speaker hole, and the dust will come out with it when you remove it. 3- Rince and repeat I was so glad to finally get it clean, that I had to share it.

Motorola Milestone :: USB Only Charges The Milestone Before Windows Boots
I have a Milestone with Android 2.0, bought in the UK and unlocked. I have a desktop PC and a laptop, both running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. If I conenct the Milestone to the desktop, it charges via usb just fine. If I connect it to the laptop, it only charges BEFORE windows boots up: the moment the log in screen appears, it stops charging. I tried installing the drivers from the CD and from the Motorola website, but to no avail. I tried switching off and on the phone several times, but nothing. The only way to charge it with the laptop is to leave the laptop in the bios screen or in the Windows boot up options screen! This seems very weird to me. I can connect and charge other usb devices (Nokias, Iphones, external drives, etc).

Motorola Milestone :: Update Milestone Failed
My phone is not rooted. When I select check for system updates, it does everything normally, I select install now, the installing icon appears, loads half way and reboots. When it starts up again, I get a pop-up saying that the update failed! I repeated this process a few times and I give up. Is there any other way to update my milestone?

Motorola Milestone :: Milestone Photo Not Sharp
I have a Motorla Milestone and I'm experiencing some problems with the photo quality.When I try to take a picture the camera focuses and seems to be sharp.I then take the picture and the first second it appears on the screen the quaility and sharpness looks OK.A second later I can see there is some extra "blur" added and the picture gets an unsharp look.I have tried different settings but they all seem to give the same result.Do I have a defective unit? Or is this a wrong software setting?I hope someone finds a solution because these pictures look even worse than 3.2MP shots from previous Nokia mobile.
