HTC Droid Eris :: People App And Mail Settings

Jan 30, 2010

I have both a gmail and an exchange email account and have the contacts from both nicely synched in the people app. HOWEVER, if I select a particular contact from the list and toogle along the bottom to look at the "mail" option, it only shows emails from them that came in to my exchange account. It never shows emails from any of my contacts that originated from my gmail account. All the other options work great for text messages and updates etc, so I am not quite sure how to resolve this so that I can see gmail emails too.

Motorola Droid X :: POP3 E-Mail Incoming Mail

Jul 22, 2010

I tried to set up my pop3 e-mail on my phone last night and I keep getting a "username or password is incorrect" error message on my incoming email. I am able to send e-mail from the phone. The funny thing is that if I check my email from my PC and empty any e-mail's that are in my inbox, then try to check for new e-mail's with my DroidX (knowing that there are none) I do not get any errors. The errors only occur when there are e-mails in my inbox.Didn't have any problems with this setup with the incredible.

Motorola Droid :: Mail App For Non-Gmail E-mail

Nov 12, 2009

Any word on if Google plans to open up the e-mail app that gmail uses for other e-mail accounts (hotmail, yahoo, etc). I don't want to forward my mail to gmail nor do I want to switch everything over. I would just like the functionality of the gmail app that came on the phone for other e-mail accounts as well.Anyone know of any updates coming that might address this?

HTC EVO 4G :: Backing Up K9 Mail Account Settings?

Jun 28, 2010

I've got ALOT of accounts set up in K-9 Mail. It normally takes me about an hour and a half to re-set them all up. I've tried this method linked below, but It didn't seem to work for me. I would install K-9 Mail, then import the exported files. I also tried Installing it, setting up one account, and then importing the files. Both cases, it doesn't seem to import any accounts. Issue 549 - k9mail - Enhancement: Ability to export/import account settings. - Project Hosting on Google Code. I have both Titanium Backup (Paid) and MyBackupPro, and I can't seem to figure out how to backup the account settings in those either.

HTC EVO 4G :: Way To Fix / Change Unread E-Mail Settings?

Jun 9, 2010

Using a Yahoo-based e-mail that I linked up to the Evo. The e-mail on my phone doesn't update at all with what I do on the computer with the e-mail. So I can read and/or delete the e-mail on my computer and it still keeps it as in my inbox and unread on the phone. Thus, the phone can say I show 200 unread emails even though I've read them all. Is there a way to fix this or change the settings?

Nexus :: 2.2.1 Mail Asks Suspect Security Settings For Exchange

Sep 27, 2010

I use nexus one, otherwise known as a google phone, and just got the 2.2.1 update. Upon updating I got a request for a security update for the Email app. It wants to be able to:

1. Erase all data (perform a factory reset, deleting all of your data without any confirmation)
2. Limit password (reset the types of passwords you are allowed to use)
3. Watch login attempts (monitor failed attempts to login to the device, to perform some action)
4. Force Lock (control when the device locks, requiring you re-enter its password)

Call me paranoid, but this, especially no.1 seems suspect. Why would an email client need this extreme set of privileges? My spidey sense is pinging louder than a gaydar next to a drag queen. Can anyone confirm if this is a legit update or if I just downloaded a trojan horse of some sort?

Sprint HTC Hero :: Cannot Connect To Exchange E-mail Because Of Security Settings

Aug 7, 2010

Like many other people, I have the issue where I cannot connect to my exchange e-mail because of security settings. I was able to resolve the issue the first time by using Lockpicker. I had to reset my phone, root, and install fresh rom again. Now I am trying to use lockpicker again, but it doesn't work anymore. I have tried everything I can think of and have searched extensively. Touchdown can connect, but there is no way I am paying for that when I was able to get the stock email app working the first time.

Motorola Droid X :: Gmail Not Getting Mail

Just received the Droid X a few days ago and went through the standard setup with my existing gmail account. All worked fine for a few days but now I notice that I get no notification of any type for new mail unless I manually press the sync button.I thought that the gmail was a push like SMS and as soon as new mail arrives it notifies me (yes notifications are on).I just tested it by sending an email from my work address to gmail. Nothing on the phone but it does show if I log in via a regular computer.

Motorola Droid :: POP3 With Yahoo Mail Plus

Apr 22, 2010

I can't seem to find a good email set up on my Droid. When I got my droid I set up my email for POP3 since I have Yahoo Mail Plus. I do not want to use imap for many reasons. It set up no problem, put it constantly pulls old messages from the server or ones that I deleted off the phone (not the server) days earlier. So then, I switched to having gmail pull my yahoo mail via pop3. That solved the old message issues, but if anyone know about gmail, you can't set the frequency by which it pulls from the server. I would always get my email anywhere from 30 minutes to and hour and half after it was actually received. So today I tried the new imap set up. It works except I have a computer at home that's pulling the message via POP3. When it does that, it marks them as read on the server. Because of that I don't get notified of new messages. When the Droid syncs with yahoo, it shows that the message is already read.

Motorola Droid :: Better Mail IMAP Application?

Nov 8, 2009

just got the DROID and my biggest complaint right now is with the Mail application (not the Gmail one). I have it set up for IMAP for my home email, and I can not move messages from my inbox into another folder. Can you actually do that? If so I haven't been able to figure out how.If you can't, is there a different Mail application for Android that will let you do that?It seems like a common enough feature that you would think it would be there.
