View 1 RepliesThat goes without saying but it appears that it flashes the bootloader so I would hold off on doing it if you like root.It could mean that we cant flash sbfs anymore, it could mean that we get a locked down bootloader and it could mean nothing,I am getting this from looking in the file and could be completely wrong though.
View 32 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to revert from a ROM back to stock and save my apps (non-root ones of course). I have titanium backup, but once I am back to stock I won't be able to use it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I got my phone, it was on Froyo 2.2 when I received it. How do I unroot my phone back to that?
View 1 Replies View Relatedso I took the leap the same night the froyo leak was out. I was on rooted 2.1 and followed the steps of intalling the ota and then re-rooted and installed the leaked froyo.I tried most of the fixes, but would rather wait for the "real" Froyo OTA. My question is simple, do I have to remove the effects of the OTA (downgrade the hboot) before I re-flash to a stock 2.1 or will the 2.1 reflash take care of that?
View 6 Replies View RelatedWould the process just require using the RUU to flash back to stock and waiting for the update? I am currently all the way rooted and running the Cyanogen nightly.
View 19 Replies View RelatedI have froyo running but I have had to change keyboard back to stock. I had the keyboard with the mike key on 2.1 but this kb does not seem to function on froyo. How do I now speak texts and emails a function I loved before.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo long story short...and a lot of work later.
I rolled back to 2.01 sbf and got the update to 2.2 and it failed. I rolled back to ESE81 (2.1) sbf and got the update...and it failed. I ended up getting FRG22 off another forum and i am updated.
Now I want to find a FROYO SBF file so I can wipe and get a clean install of Froyo.
Do you think one will make it's way into the wild?
All files needed are available on my web site: Android - whiterabbit.org unless you still need to root your phone or downgrade to 2.0.1, the files needed for that will be linked to from those guides. The purpose of installing this way is to use the original OTA updates from Google, and only modify them enough to have root access. When you are done, you will have a system that is capable of installing the next OTA (gingerbread) when it arrives. Hopefully we will be able to patch it in the same way to keep root. This is only for people who don't want to run custom roms, but still want to have root.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI see ChevyNo1 has some Froyo Kernels for overclocking. Which ones should I download, I am not sure of the differences between low voltage and ultra low voltage.
Also are these the best Kernels for overclocking, or are there better ones?
Had the dX for about a month now, still running the stock 2.1 OS and have not upgraded to froyo yet, i played with a friends phone with 2.2 OTA but he has had some issues with the phone since OTA and i am concerned about upgrading with the whole bootloader deal and not being able to do what i want with the phone. currently with the dX i have it rooted with universal androot with recovery and thats about it.
I am new to the dX and i have been reading alot, but i have a few questions because there doesnt seem to be a clear answer anyhwere on what the best route to go is. i am coming from a rooted custom rom'd and OC'd eris so i am familiar with the processes and how to modify android.
Here is what i am looking to do
Froyo
root
overclock
recovery
custom rom/theme
remove bloatware
deodex
From what i have read i have 2 options, 2.2 leak and OTA
Is there is a leaked 2.3.15 and is that the best option over the OTA ?
What does the OTA offer that the leak doesnt and vice versa
I guess once i figure out what version of 2.2 to go with i can take the rest from there. i have been looking at the team black hat app is this a good idea ?
root
deodex
koush recovery/bootstrap
nandroid
flash rom/theme
Also, after coming from sense i hate the moto dialer, personally think its terrible no easy way to just call someone wiht out dialing a million things, is there options for a custom dialer like the sense dialer ?
Been away from custom roms for a while. Is there a stock ROM to go back to if I ever needed to bring my Droid back in for service?
View 6 Replies View RelatedNeed to get back on 2.2 froyo. I'm on 2.1 now, rooted, with the universal root 1.625 beta. I'm also running the black glass theme on top of this. ROM manager and bootstrapper are already installed but when I try to load 2.2 , I get an error "installion aborted".
View 9 Replies View RelatedI still have not received the ota 2.2 update for my motorola droid. I used to have my droid rooted to droidmod I think, I started having some problems (this was months ago so I'm sure everything was fixed) and I unrooted and went back to stock 2.0.1 and then used the ota to update to 2.1. So I am waiting on froyo and I was just wondering if I update and don't like it will I be able to flash back to 2.0.1.
View 14 Replies View RelatedSo I just purchased an incredible (couldn't resist lol).. And now I am trying to sell my droid on ebay (if anyone is interested let me know!), but whenever I used RomManager to revert back to stock image. I get an error and it fails. I have already ported my number over to my incredible, so I can only use wifi. So what other way is there to go back to stock so I can wipe the device and sell it. Or is there some other way that I am not thinking of? Something on the phone, like stock image I can flash through clockwork recovery and be done? (if so anyone have a link?)
View 1 Replies View RelatedCan someone point me in the direction of the best way to go back to stock 2.1 on my motorola droid. Without losing all my things. Im just wanting to go back for right now.
View 18 Replies View RelatedWant to flash back to stock and update to the "official" 2.2 Can I do this in short order or is it fairly troublesome?
View 13 Replies View RelatedI am not planning on doing this, but this just popped into my head. If you have installed a custom kernal while rooted, and you want to flash back to 2.2, do you need to install the stock kernal.
View 5 Replies View RelatedFor the Droid X i want to try to use the froyo update that was leaked before however, I am worried about as to whether or not I can flash back to the stock OS. I see how to do it for other phones and know how to do it for the original droid with much help however, I do not want to do the update until I know there is a way to revert back to 2.1 Also I am using the leaked NON ROOTED 2.2 update if I get an answer on here. I do not like to root only because I am a noob.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter using rom manager to install a new theme, m wondering how i can go back to stock BBV.04 w/out the theme. How would i go about that?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI want to completely unroot and go back to stock.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm a beginner to this rooting stuff. I used z4root to root my D1.. and then i used Rom manager to download bugles beast v0.5 . I did this basically to test out Rom's and see if i liked the whole concept. however, i wanna get back to factory settings, as if i never rooted.

View 4 Replies View RelatedEveryone is always so concerned about unrooting, removing su, removing busybox, etc., and so-forth. Well, finally an extremely simply solution. Almost too simple. Go to the Market and install SholesMod Updater. Sure it's $5, but it does it all for ya. Just install the application like any other, then open it. Select "Stock 2.0.1 (No root)" and let it do it's thing. And no one is the wiser. Hope this puts some minds at ease.
View 49 Replies View Relatedcurrently on RubiX focused. say i wanted to return back to stock like 2.3.15 deodexed or even odexed. would i reboot into recovery, clear data, cashe, system, mount then apply the zip? just want to make sure this is right so i dont brick again
View 6 Replies View RelatedI went back to stock 2.01 using DM Updates (I'm lazy) and now I have two problems:
1) I'm missing the Market app
2) I'm not receiving OTA updates (says system is up to date) Anyway to keep going without wiping?
Does anyone know how to get the stock wallpaper back once you have changed it?
I could never get it back when I was stock, is that possible now?
I updated to Ultimate Droid Extreme V7 and my phone worked great for a few days and is not bugging out. So I want to put my phone back to the stock ROM and get the verizon 2.2 update. How the heck do you do that?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've changed my Moto Droid to the Droid Incredible, I will miss and keep Moto Droid in my heart. (It also made me realize iPhone was just a platonic relationship). I'm selling it off to offset cost. It's already deactivated, I've been trying to use the Rom Manager to download a stock image but it keeps failing, apparently it doesn't want to use Wifi (tried in airplane mode too). Even then the version it downloads is rooted. I'd like to reset/wipe the phone down to 2.1 or 2.0.1 and a way to make sure OTA will work when it gets activated. How can I do this?
