Motorola Droid :: Back Up Before Root Phone?
Jan 4, 2010I just rooted my Droid using the NON ADB root/superuser method. My only question is should I have backed up my phone before doing this? Just in case anything goes wrong.

Sep 23, 2010I was running CM6, but I had heard some people saying they were getting even better performance from stock 2.2, so I thought I'd give it a try. I downloaded a 2.2 ROM using ROM Manager and it said I could get a rooted or non-rooted version. The only option I was given was to select Superuser Permissions, which seems to be an app but I don't know how to use it. I know for sure I don't have root anymore. How do I get root back? Is there an easy way to simply restore from the nandroid backup I did prior to this? I don't have clockworkmod recovery anymore. I tried to reflash it but I can't because I don't have root.

Jul 15, 2010This is my first android device and i'm loving it... but one thing that irks me is the use, or lack thereof, of the back button.
As I am navigating menus and options in the Settings, I cannot simply go back one menu using the back key. For example, if I go to Settings->Battery Manager->Battery Profile Options and want to go back to the Settings screen, I cannot.
Pushing the back button does nothing and I can only go back to the Settings menu by going Home, then re-entering.
Another quirk regarding the back button is when reading emails. Using a regular email account such as Hotmail, I cannot simply read an email and go back to the inbox using the button.
It makes navigating the phone very tedious.

I had that baby rooted and themed up nice I am wondering since I backed it all up with rom manager and titanium backup, themes and all if I root the replacement and put my old sd card in will it be back the same? Or can I use the old one to some how get it back to they way it was?

Aug 23, 2010So I switched to the 2.2 leak and decided to do the .sbf method to get 2.1 back because I thought 2.2 was a bit buggy for my tastes. Unfortunately, when I had gotten 2.1 back on my phone, I could not activate. It simply said it cannot do it. I tried switching back (again) to 2.2, same problem. Tried manual user activation via ##7762726, still nothing.
