Motorola Droid X :: Use Titanium Backup To Delete Apps That Are Safe For Delete Like Amazon.mp3 Etc?

Jul 23, 2010

Last night I donated and am just waiting for the paid version now, but I have a couple of questions:

1. What exactly is "freezing" an app? Will it remove the app from the app drawer? Will it just prevent it from running?

2. Can I use Titanium backup to delete apps that are safe for delete like amazon.mp3, etc?

3. If I "freeze" an app like backup assistant will it still be on the phone so that it doesn't brick if I do a reset?

4. Can I delete or freeze things like crap ringtones so they don't show up when I am setting a ringtone?

Motorola Droid X :: 2nd Click Of Home Button As Sleep Button?

Nov 2, 2010

I like being able to wake the phone to view the lock screen using the home button at the bottom of the phone, but is there any way to make it so that a second click of that button, or a click of one of the others down there, will make it sleep again? Having to press the power button up top is just an inconvenience.

Motorola Droid :: Designate Camera Button To Become Power Button?

Apr 21, 2010

I tried searching for this but couldn't find a thread that discussed it. My power button appears as though its been jammed. I dropped my phone on its corner where the power button is but I don't think thats what the problem is. Anyhow, recently my power button responds but I have to really press it hard and it as though the button is jammed cause it doesn't depress as far.

My question is that is there a way to designate the camera button to become the power button? I know on some phones you can make different buttons do different things and I was curious if this was possible on the Droid.

Android :: ListView With Delete Button?

Sep 20, 2010

I am trying to bind a list view to a List. This works ok when I create an activity that extends ListActivity and I have a text view in my layout file (i.e. the activity is binding to the default listview in the activity). However, what I would like to do is have a ListView that contains an image button (to further perform the deeltion of the row) and the text view to illustrate the name of the item being bound.

The layout file
The activity class

I have played around and cant seem to get it to work, as soon as I add a ListView / image button to the layout file my code crashes. I've also found a few examples through google, but none seem to work!

Change Action Of Delete Button

Nov 22, 2012

This is a question about the new Swype beta. Everything about the newest versions of Swype Beta are amazing. Being able to change themes, and some function changes, etc... EXCEPT for the back/delete button action. This is the only thing that sucks. Where as you used to be able to HOLD the delete button and delete whole words, you can only delete one letter at a time unless you highlight the word using the swype key which can become aggravating.

My question. How hard would it be to go in and change the action of the delete button? Would it be a simple smali edit or even a simple xml edit.

What I want is:

And everything works except I can't focus row delete button with trackball (although it's working with touch).

Motorola Droid :: Can't Delete Email

Apr 3, 2010

I got this one email that I cannot get rid of. Someone sent me an email on Facebook that also showed up in my Inbox for my Comcast email account and I cannot get rid of THAT email! I have gotten and deleted up to 200-300 emails since then from facebook and that stupid email remains in my inbox! When I try to click on and open the troubled email, my stock email on the phone force closes! I cleared the cache, thinking that was part of the problem and that did nothing for me. The email was a notification for an event. I was able to delete it on my facebook account and its not showing up anywhere else but on my phone's email account. Its kinda like it IS deleted but for some weird reason its still showing up.

Motorola Droid :: Unrooted Droid But Super User / ROM Manager Won't Delete

Sep 10, 2010

I searched on how to completely remove both of these and one method was using Terminal Emulate. When i tried this method and typed in su to start the process it would say "permission denied". Do i have to reroot my phone again in order to get rid of these two apps? I'm doing this in order to take my phone to verizon. Do you guys think its necessary to make it perfectly clean of any "rooted" things? It is now unrooted it just has those two icons!! so frustrating. read somewhere else that if these icons are still there that i am still rooted...is this true? also I do not care if i lose everything... I just want my phone restored to factory settings so i can take it in to verizon..

Motorola Droid :: Delete Stock Launcher Is Using Another

Aug 19, 2010

I've seen this type of comment a few times lately and it's got me wondering if I should take the time to delete the stock launcher. I'm using LauncherPro.

From Chevy:
"If you DO use another launcher, use my tools to DELETE the stock Launcher2 (it will back up to SD). Otherwise, it will still take resources even though you don't run it."

That being said, how do I delete the stock launcher on CM RC3? Root Explorer?

Motorola Droid :: Figured Out How To Delete Favorites On AOR

Dec 3, 2009

Anyone using A Online Radio wondering how to delete stations from the favorites tab? There have been multiple posts about this on the developers site.I read their instructions multiple times on their forum post and after 2 days of thinking about it, I finally figured it out. They say that you're supposed to scroll through the list, and as you scroll, the entries will highlight. Then you can select delete from the menu you get from the droid's menu button. After many failed attemps at normal drag scrolling with my finger, I finally thought of trying to scroll with the direction pad on the hard keyboard.Open up to the keyboard and scroll down with that dpad, and items will highlight. You can then delete from the menu. Not hardly the best interface. check boxes and a select all would be much easier. But hey, at least now I can manage the favorites tab.

Motorola Droid X :: Groups Delete From Contacts

Jul 25, 2010

so I created a group and misspelled the name in the silly "Contacts" application. So, I deleted the group and created a new one with the name properly spelled. Yes, I could have renamed the misspelled group, but I was in an unusually stupid frame of mind. The group doesn't show in "Contacts" on the phone, but it does in Handcent and elsewhere.I know how to NOT screw up again, and that's to NOT use the "Contacts" app every again, but how do I truly delete the group that I already created?I went into Handcent and went to send a message to a group, and the deleted group appeared there. I also went to to the application that I downloaded called "Group Ringtones" and it appeared there as well. It doesn't appear in GMail though. I didn't expect it to appear in GMail, but it wouldn't have surprised me if it did.
