Motorola Droid X :: No Check Box To Choose Recipient

Oct 1, 2010

So I added a "corp" email to my X. However, when i compose a new message, or reply to one, in the TO: field, there is a "+" icon, click it and it will bring up names. NOW - If you SEARCH for someone, say Mike. when it finds them all, there are no check boxes. you can only select the contact. When you Do, it drops you back to the new message, but the contact is NOT in the To: field. Its just blank. If i Scroll to Mike, and select him, I get a set of 2 emails for him, which check boxes. I select the one i want and press done. Now i get dropped back to the email, and Mike is in the to: field. WHAT am I doing wrong, that I cant Search for someone and add him to the to: field. Long press just brings up delete. Is this why BB still wins corp email?

Im sorry if this is a newb question, but I cant figure it out.

Eventually I want to make some of my contacts have individual ringtones, but I have to jump over this hurdle first.

Motorola Droid 2 :: Choose Widget Menu Options

Nov 21, 2010

when I long press on my homescreen to add a widget (say Pandora's widget) I have to scroll through a TON of crap. 5 different beautiful widget options, 7 calendar pad pro options, 6 contact widget options, 6 folder organizer widget options, etc. Most of those I know I will NEVER EVER use. How can I remove them from my "choose widget". My phone is rooted, and one app I used, pure calendar, gave me the option of which "choose widget" menu options to show. So I know it exists somewhere.

Motorola Droid :: List Of Popular ROMs And Choose One?

May 3, 2010

So, I've been reading all the posts on how to root and as a Linux power-user I'm good with all that. I've seen reference to a couple of ROMs, but no comprehensive list of them or what they do. Is there such a repository or list somewhere that would allow me to look through a list of popular ROMs and choose one?

Another question, that might pre-empt the 1st... I like the stock 2.1 DROID, the only things I really want to be able to do are to overclock and remove a couple of the stock applications that I have no desire to look at. My reading indicates that I might not even need a custom ROM to do this, is this accurate?

Motorola Droid X :: Choose Different Skin For Flip Clock And Calendar Widget?

Aug 30, 2010

I just downloaded this, and really like the sense-like look, but can't find where and how to choose a different skin for the flip clock and calendar widget? Default is nice, but I'd like to tweak it just a tad, and it says it's skinnable.I just haven't figured out how.well, as usual, as soon as I posted I went back and played with it some more, and it looks like you have to configure it as an app, then install the widget. Correct?

HTC Droid Eris :: Recipient List Displayed Before Opening Message

Jan 13, 2010

I currently have my work Groupwise e-mail forwarded (using a rule in Groupwise) to my Gmail. Only problem is that many folks at work use group distribution lists to send out e-mails. Many of these lists have hundreds of recipients. When I open these e-mails on my phone I often have pages of recipients to scroll through before I ever get to the message.

Motorola Droid X :: Check Update

Oct 30, 2010

I have a DX running the 2.2 OTA. I rooted my phone but did nothing else (no deodex, no custom anything.) I did rename some of the default apps to disable them but backed up before. Now, here is my question. I want to check for updates (I know where are none, but I keep hoping there will be to fix all the little bugs Froyo seems to have) and I get a "Check for update was not available at this time." I get this EVERY TIME.

Could this be a problem from rooting? Is anyone else having this issue? And yes, I did disable the wifi only updating in settings, so it isn't that.

Motorola Droid :: Check Book / Finance App?

Dec 14, 2009

on my old phone (palm treo 755) i had a checkbook app that i used daily. i have tried several finance apps on the market, but none seem to do what i want. i have tried the following:
checkbook genius
easymoney
checkbook
dgmoney
with the old program i could create budgets, set up future payments/deposits, show & hide transactions from the transaction list (ie hide cleared items) and display acct balance on a specific day the apps i've tried so far do make decent checkbook registers, but i miss the flexibility of my old app. anyone know of or have experience with another app that could do all this? i have no problem paying for an app that does all this.

Even though I believe I have it set up to automatically check email and to receive notification when it arrives, I only get new email when I manually open the app.

Motorola Droid : Reality Check For Root Pros?

Feb 16, 2010

I've been a member here since I got my Droid and this place is great. Quickly I've seen a great divide since the Droid's been rooted and that divide has the tech geeks on one side and the noobs on the other. When the Droid came out everyone wanted this phone to help the Android software to grow as much as possible and were way more helpful.

I am in the middle of the noob/geek divide because I've scoured all the forums/youtube videos imaginable before I rooted. But the tech geeks need to realize is that the noobs need to be able to enjoy their phones just like you so the buzz about Android continues to grow.

Instead of bashing people for rooting with SMu (which i do understand why) help them by showing how to go from Sholes to pete's THE EASY WAY because noobs don't have time to scour these forums and don't get the terminology with rooting the hard way. If they screw up later then they will have no choice but to learn how to fix it themselves and in my experience, people only change/learn when they HAVE to not when they WANT to. Other than that, this is the best Android forum around.

Motorola Droid : Notification Times / Want To Check Facebook And E-mail?

So it's almost bed time here on the east coast... It's interesting enough to hear the "Droid..." notification (changeable, I know) every time a FB friend posts, I get a TXT or an e-mail. Problem is, I don't want to receive these at 3 in the morninig, nor do I want to turn off my sounds in case of a call or TXT that *is* important.

Any way to tell the Droid exactly when I want it to check facebook and e-mail? Old LG 10000 allowed you to set the times it checked for e-mail.
