Motorola : Droid X Manual - Is There Supposed To Be One Included
Jul 19, 2010I found the stickied PDF here, but was the droid supposed to come with an actual manual? All we have is some warning type booklets with ours.

View 8 RepliesMy camera key is loose, English, and wiggle. Looks cheap to say the least. Especially when compared to the rest of the structurally sound phone. I don't remember my first droid being this way.
View 9 Replies View RelatedHow is the backlight for the menu, home, search and back buttons supposed to work? When should they come on?Sometimes they come on sometimes they don't, I really can't quite figure it out.
View 4 Replies View RelatedThere have been multiple threads of people saying they are experiencing sound popping when using the 3.5mm jack, most of them say its on Pandora others will say that it happens on all mp3's or a few mp3's that otherwise sound perfect when played on their computer. To test I want to see if its a defect in hardware or if it just another Droid Does problem. I always consistently experience sound popping with my Sony headphones while playing Home by Michael Buble. If you go to youtube and search "home buble" play the first search result in high quality and turn the media volume to maximum. Listen in about 45 seconds and let me know if you hear popping.
View 22 Replies View RelatedI've successfully done most of the steps to manually deodex. However, when I get to the last step, it says Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.7600] Copyright (c) 2009 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.
C:UsersSteven>adb shell
'adb' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.
This is what the last step says to do: (and I get stopped with the above message)
Open a command prompt, and do the following:
Code:
adb shell
su
stop
mount -o rw,remount -t ext3 /dev/block/mmcblk1p21 /system
cp /sdcard/done_app/* /system/app/
cp /sdcard/done_frame/* /system/framework/
rm /system/app/*.odex
rm /system/framework/*.odex
mount -o ro,remount -t ext3 /dev/block/mmcblk1p21 /system
reboot
Any leaked manual yet?

View 1 Replies View RelatedJust got my Motorola Droid. I've loaded up all the Google stuff as usual and all is well. What I'd like to do is create contacts from WORK and keep them separate from my personal stuff (GMail Contacts, etc). Can I, and if so, how? Secondly, is there a user guide for this beast other than the dinky booklet that came with it?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI just manually updated to 2.01, and everything went fine on the upgrade, no errors. Seems rather zippy, however now when I open the keyboard and the home screen shift to a horizontal layout, all my home screen icons (and widgets) disappear. On all three home screens. Everything is still there in the "all items" menu on the bottom. I'm not getting any kind of crash indicator, or force close or anything. A reboot brings it back, at least until I open the keyboard again. It's pretty consistent, although it seems I can avoid the problem by not opening the keyboard when it's on the home screen (only doing so when in an app). Never saw this with 2.0. I've googled around and seen other folks having similar problems, but no fixes mentioned, and none specifically referring to 2.0.1.
View 19 Replies View RelatedSo I rooted my Droid and Superuser Permissions appeared. I looked up how to unroot and it just said to manually update to 2.0.1 (I was obviously up to 2.0.1 already) and I did, and I was hoping Superuser Permissions would disappear, but it didn't.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI think I'll root tonight. Btw, a lot of the guides and threads I see are pre-ota2.2 so i don't know if that's the safest way. So I am going to root using the D2 method here. As I take it there isn't an easier method for the DX right now. Then from there I 1. Select bootstrap recovery 2. Reboot Recovery 3. When the recovery loads, move down and select "backup/restore" select backup. 4. Press camera button after backup to reboot. 5. Find a theme. Put on sd card. Right? Do I need to select bootstrap recovery every time i want to install a new theme before I hit reboot recovery? I know I need rom manager regardless, is it better to backup on RM or Koush? Or both? Titanium backup will save all my apps, even paid apps correct? Is there anyway my titanium backup can be erased? And so all my contacts are automatically backed up to my gmail account or do I do that myself?

Me and my brother both just imported new phone, me the milstone and him the nexus. Im pretty new to android, but isn't 2.0 and 2.0.1 supposed to have speech to text? I installed text to speech and it works, but when i go to run something that uses stt (like in handcent) it just says "rencognizer not present." Any help? tts and stt would be awesome for sneak texting
View 4 Replies View RelatedI manually installed the FRG01B update yesterday. And since doing so, I have noticed a ridiculously steep drop in battery life. Do I need to be running FRG22? Is that available to download manually, if so? I also know that I don't have the version of Facebook that was causing battery drainage. ATK didn't seem to help at all (it might have even made it worse). Is there anything I can do to vastly improve battery life? It would be great if I could get the phone's battery to last at least 24 hours. I already uninstalled ATK, by the way.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI'm on my 3rd Eris - replaced each one for the silent bug. This one hasn't gone silent yet, but the soft keys (home, menu, back, and search) don't light up. Major PITA when using the phone at night. When I took it back to Verizon, they said the buttons aren't supposed to light up. Now I'm second guessing myself. So, can someone with an Eris check it out on your phone and see if the buttons light up? Is there a setting for this that I'm missing? BTW - This last replacement shipped with 2.1 installed and hboot 1.49.
