Motorola Droid X :: Way To Fix Dark Screen?
A girl at work spilled her drink of water by my phone and of course it got wet. I did the whole sit in rice for 3 days and hit it with a lite blow drying. After I turned it back on everything works perfect (can text and receive calls, ect) except the screen is so dark I can only see it (hologram type effect) in super bright light and tilted at an angel. And even then its barley visible. To my surprise yesterday the screen lit right up back to normal and I almost died, but by that night its back to dark. I have no insurance and have about 8 months left on my contract. I talked to some verizon people and the best scenarios for me would to be A) Buy another Droid X from like craigslist and switch everything over. Cheapest I seen in my area is $375 or B) Ad a line and get a new Droid X w/2 year contract for $200 and switch the info over and pay the data fee on the old one I cant use I'm not asking so much for help on those options, but more if anyone knows any tips to maybe fix the screen (if it is a screen problem and not hardware). It just sucks because it works perfect and it did come back on so I know (kinda) that it must be capable of doing it again.

Motorola Droid :: Screen Goes Dark When Dialing
This may be just me or my combo of applications but, When I enter a number on the touchpad and press dial the screen goes dark and will not come back or accept input unless I put the phone to my face or otherwise cover the the light sensor. Even pressing the power button does not bring the screen back . I have forced the 2.1 update and have not noticed this behavior before. Not a big deal but is annoying if you dial a wrong number.

HTC Droid Eris :: Getting Screen To Come Back On In Dark
Forgive me if someone else has asked this, but I searched the forum and couldn't find an answer.I understand that the proximity/light sensor turns off the screen when the Eris is next to your ear to prevent "face dailing", etc. And, I understand the screen comes back on when the sensor senses light. Ok, that works fine.BUT, what do you do if you are using the phone in the dark? When I pull the phone away, the screen will not come back on because it does not sense light. For example, trying to delete a voicemail if you're using the phone in the dark. I've tried every button to re-activate the screen, and the only one that will work is the "End" key. And that obviously ends the call.

Motorola Droid X :: Dark Vanilla Lockscreen ModMod
I am not a big fan of the stock Droid X lockscreen, however I do like the regular Vanilla Lockscreen. Over on XDA I found some dark vanilla lockscreen sliders and decided to mod them for my Droid X. As of right now I haven't added a vibrate icon with the right slider. Sliding from right to left will either turn sound on, or turn on vibrate mode. Also they are only supported in portrait mode. Also I am not responsible for any and all damage this may do to your phone/device, neither is wjddesigns.com.

Motorola Droid :: Notification Bar Is Dark Transparent With White Clock
For anyone who didn't see this already over at alldroid, there is a new ROM that I am using that is pretty sweet, its a 2.0.1 rom with 2.1 apps similar to that of the bugless beauty but it doesn't move the /system apps to /data and the notification bar is a dark transparent with white clock? home screen rotation works too. It is a very nice rom and I think very quick, as quick as the version .5 of the bugless one I was using. He is also coming out with a version with wifi tethering but said u can install it separately and it works. I haven't tested that out yet. All in all its a great rom and I am definitely sticking with this one because the theme applied is super slick!

Android :: How To Get Screen All Dark But Still Touch Sensitive
I want to get the display as dark as possible but I also want the display to remain touch sensitive. So I can't turn the display off, otherwise it wouldn't react to touch anymore. And I use WindowManager. LayoutParams. screenBrightness to get the screen as dark as possible. And I put a layer colored black over the entire display. That works, but at night one sees that the screen is still quite strongly illuminated.Does anybody have an idea of how to get the screen even darker?

Android :: How To Find Out Screen Status Active / Dark?
I've dug through the documentation but couldn't find a call that would fit: Is there a way to find out the screen status (Active/dark)?I've got an app that implements the relevant data processing and backend server connectivity through a Service that I keep running on a reduced activity level when the user puts the device to sleep (using end button), or when the screen timeout hits. In the app code, I can follow this status change, because it triggers calls to overloaded onStop() and onPause() methods of the app's subclassed Activity. This way, I control active/reduced ("sleep") activity levels of that Service. Everything's cool and dandy in this scenario.Enter an AppWidget that's using this Service in a similar fashion, with functionality implemented in a subclass of AppWidgetProvider. This changes the game - I have found no way to determine when to set the Service to the reduced ("sleep") activity level from that point. The app's Activity has long paused, and I keep the Service at active level, as the widget needs updates from the Service similar to what the Activity needs when in front. With the AppWidget on the home screen, I want, and should (re: battery life), drop the Service's activity level when the device enters sleep mode. The most elegant way to handle this would be to detect whether the screen is dark, right inside the Service.

HTC Droid Eris :: Why Google Nav Display Dark In LS Mode?
I have noticed an irritating condition with Navigator. When I turn it to landscape mode, the screen darkens to unreadable. I can turn it back to portrait and it immediately re-appears. This only happens when I pick it up - It can be laying in the seat in LS mode and be perfectly visible, as soon as I pick it up, it goes dark. If this is a feature, what is the benefit?

HTC Incredible : Optical Track Pad Doesn't Work In Dark?
Last night I was hammering out some emails while watching TV. The only light in the room was from the Inc and the TV. I could not get the track pad to register my motions. I attempted to angle the phone to face the TV but still got no response. I'm thinking this is a design failure. An optical device shouldn't be on a phone if it can't be used in the dark. Seems to me that the light sensor would affect the track pad's sensitivity based on the ambient light. Is there any work around to getting the track pad to work in the dark?

Motorola Droid X :: Locking - Screen Time Out And Screen Fade Out
Is there any way to change when these 3 things happen separately? Can I make it so my screen fades earlier but still takes just as long to go completely black? Is there a way to extend the time between total blackout and locking? Is there a way to turn off auto screen lock all together but keep the auto fade out and auto black out? I am always able to remember to manually lock the screen and the auto lock is annoying but I still like the power saving of the screen fade and black out.

Motorola Droid X :: Bubbles On Screen / Even When Screen Protector Removed
So I recently got a set of screen protectors and put one on.All was well just noticed a few bubbles and so I tried to work them out. They weren't going away, so I figured I would try again so I removed it and to my astonishment the bubbles were still there. It's like they formed under the screen somehow when I put the protector on, they were absolutely not there before. There are 2 in the center of the screen and a few along the edges. At first I just thought it was a water spot but I cannot wipe them off.The ones on the edge of the screen I can"push out" to the edge to almost make them disappear. When you touch them with the pads of your fingers you can feel a slight "bump" in the screen (very minute but still there). They bubbles are easily visible when the screen is off and almost go away when the screen is on but you can still tell they are there. Is this a defect in the phone or did I cause this trying to install the protector? I didn't push down hard on the screen, just applied the protector and they appeared.

Motorola Droid :: Touch Screen Works On Half The Screen
I bought a new droid for $20 haha lucky i think until i notice that the touch screen only works for the middle of the screen to the left so if yu cut the screen into thirds only the middle and left work assuming that yu cut it from top to bottom with the lights at the bottom for the home button etc. I opened it up cleaned all the flex cable with alcohol and waited for it to dry and it still does the same thing so my question is = do i need a new digitizer or is it a software problem or something that i dont even know?

Motorola Droid : Static Screen Protector Like That Covers Whole Screen?
I'm currently using the phantom skinz line and although I like the body protectors I think the screen protector has reduced some of the screen's clarity/sharpness. This wasn't an issue with the static protectors I got from verizon. The only reason I replaced the verizon ones is because they didn't cover the buttons along the bottom of the screen. Anyone find a static protector they like that covers the whole screen?

HTC Desire :: Camera Quality - Images Too Dark And Saturation Lacking?
I'm quite pleased with the camera as long as you have good light - good amount of detail and sharpness for a camera phone. But I do find that the images are often too dark and lacking in saturation, while being too contrasty. Thankfully, there is plenty of info in the camera image files that can be pulled out. There are some sample comparisons on DPNow.com here if you are interested: HTC Desire smartphone camera still photo quality? - DPNow.com Discussion Forum.

Motorola Droid :: Partial Touch Screen Failure - Replace The Droid
So my beloved Droid is finally starting to show her age. Part of the touch screen has failed on the very right side of the screen as can be seen here: The phone is still fully functional other than this and appears to be one of the better units out there (runs perfectly stably with 1.2ghz ulv kernels, gets great battery life and has a bubbly keyboard). Having this portion of the touch screen go out does cause a few major problems though: -Search hardware button no longer works -Can't use notification blind in landscape view -Can't hit backspace on portrait on-screen keyboard -Many software buttons (like the ones in maps) can't be used in portrait I have already visited my local VZW store and was assured they have replacement Droid 1s in stock.

Motorola Droid :: Charging Droid With 3rd Party Chargers / Screen Wierdness
I've noticed some odd behavior when using a wall charger for an Amazon Kindle 2. The moment I plug in the charger it's as if there are fifty phantom fingers touching the screen repeatedly. I've heard others report similar behavior with various other non-moto chargers.the Kindle charger charges the Droid just fine, as does my Blackberry charger that I use at work. I just plug them in and immediately turn the screen off. I've been using those for 2 weeks and haven't noticed any ill effects as long as I turn the screen off immediately after plugging in the charger. At first I thought that any standard USB micro charger with the proper voltage should work without any issues. That is obviously not the case, but it leaves me wondering what causes the odd screen behavior. Are some chargers just not shielded properly? Is it EM interference activating the touchscreen? Or is the moto charger just special somehow? Maybe some EE type out there can figure out or explain what the deal is with this.
