Motorola Droid X :: Panorama Assist Camera

Sep 30, 2010

I recently upgraded to FlyX and just today to RubiX, but I was too lazy to SBF to stock before upgrading (I just added it right over). I realized that doing so didn't fix the camera Panorama assist FC issue in FlyX, and I was wondering if there was a workaround. I have but 2 questions:

1. Does rubiX have the same camera FC issue? If not then I may consider SBF-ing and redoing everything.

2. Would downloading a stock 2.2 camera.apk and replacing the one I have fix the issue?

Android :: Good Panorama Camera App

Aug 29, 2010

It is unclear to me why there is no good panorama camera Android application except for what some phone vendors provide on their hand set. Why is this? (By panorama camera ap, I mean one that takes subsequent pictures as one pans, and stitches them together semi-seamlessly. All the ones I can find just stack the pix end to end or cuts/pastes the images with no regard to blending the pixels.)I had a good on my previous Nokia 5800 Music Express (Symbian S60V5) and I understand that there are several on the iPhone.What's the deal? Not enough power on the chip? The JVM not fast enough?

Samsung Fascinate : Access Panorama Mode From Scene Menu In Top Left / Camera Tips

Sep 9, 2010

Here are a few tips with the Fascinate camera:

1. You can access Panorama mode from the Scene menu in the top left. With Panorama mode... you will be guided by a green box, when you get close to take the next snapshot, move very slowly... especially when the green box is almost centered on your screen. This will produce better pictures with less blur.

2. Turn on Anti-shake and Auto-contrast in the settings menu. Turn on Grid if you'd like extra help with taking better photos.

3. Long press the shutter button to auto focus before taking the photo. It's a two-stage button that will take a little bit to auto focus, but it's better than not doing it before taking a photo.

Motorola Droid X :: Camera VS HTC Incredible Camera

Jul 17, 2010

So I spent the last hour or more in my backyard in 107 degrees taking pictures of flowers at stock settings with both phones. NOT an easy task I will tell you that. My back hurts, but besides that... I did my best to show the best quality of BOTH cameras, because they are both great. I realize that not everyone will agree with me, or will think I messed with something in my pictures. But these are all completely stock settings, not messed with at all. I only touched the flash on/off button.

My decision is I like the X camera better, it is easier to focus, and much snappier. Plus designated camera button! I found on the Incredible while the pictures look great on the phone itself and in gallery, that as soon as they were uploaded the colours looked washed out and not as great. I know this is due to the AMOLED screen. But both overall great. My decision is the X though.

Android :: Eclipse Code Assist - Speedup

Oct 16, 2010

If you are using the JEE edition of HELIOS (3.6), the assists can be speeded up by turning off JAX-WS assist in the edit/advanced preference (Window->Preferences->Java->Editor->Content Assist->Advanced. It also appears that the assists cycle through a list of suggestion sources, starting with a different one each time, which would explain why the assists are not always slow.

Android :: Eclipse Code Assist Not Work In Ubuntu 9.04

Sep 22, 2009

I just switched from Ubuntu 8.10 to Ubuntu 9.04 and noticed that Eclipse Content Assist isn't working anymore. I tried the following variations on Ubuntu 9.04: Eclipse 3.4.2 or 3.5 (cleaned / reinstalled) with ADT 0.93 and Android SDK 1.5r3 Using Sun Java 1.6. No combination works. I've reinstalled everything a bunch of times. I have another machine with Ubuntu 8.10 and Eclipse 3.4.2 with ADT 0.91 or 0.93 and Code Assist works for all those. I just refuse to develop without code-assist and I know lot of people would agree with me on that.

Android :: Content Assist Not Working In Eclipse For Android

Aug 3, 2010

I've been working in Eclipse programming for Android for about a year now. I suddenly have an enormous problem. Here is the error: "Content Assist" did not complete normally. Please see the log for more information. java.lang.NullPointerException

I go to Help>About Eclipse SDK>Installation Details>Configuration>View Error Log and it is nothing but a blank page. No errors at all. I tried researching online. The most relevant pages I could find are
http://forums.adobe.com/thread/455543 and
http://www.themorphicgroup.com/blog/2009/10/27/content-assist-did-not-complete-normally/ and
http://www.airtightinteractive.com/2010/01/fix-for-flash-builder-content-assist-did-not-complete-normally/

All of these pages say to close FB, delete the .metadata folder, restart FB, import/export some SWC file, and/or delete some file with "flexbuilder" in it's name. None of these work and I see nothing on my whole machine with any of "Flash Builder", "FB", "flex", or "flexbuilder" in it's name. As a desperate last resort I deleted all traces of Eclipse, Android, Adobe anything, and Java from my machine. Absolutely no difference what-so-ever. Besides exhaustion and heartache for me. The content assist features seem to work fine in java files (for now anyway). It seems that only .xml files are affected.

Android :: Eclipse Content Assist Not Working With Android

Nov 5, 2010

I'm not sure is this is a problem with my installation of Eclipse (Helios) and Android SDK or something else but Eclipse Content Assist doesn't propose Object Methods for Android classes. For example, if I create a simple program and add a Button btn, when I go to use the btn method setBackgroundResource(int) with Content Assist (Ctrl + Space) or Word Completion (Alt + /) neither of them have any proposals. If I type btn.(Ctrl + Space), Content Assist lists; equals(), getClass(), hasCode(), Notify() wait(), shows none of the Button methods!

import android.app.Activity;
import android.os.Bundle;
import android.widget.Button;
public class HelloWorld extends Activity {
@Override public void onCreate(Bundle icicle) { super.onCreate(icicle);
setContentView(R.layout.main);
Button btn = Button(this);
btn.(Ctrl + Space) } }

Motorola Droid :: Using A Different Camera App?

Oct 20, 2010

My camera is stuck in the Negative Mode setting. I can't swipe from the left to pull out the camera options and the menu softkey doesn't bring up anything either.

I didn't notice this till about after a week or so using LFYv1.71. However, it seems that I am the only one using that ROM that's experienced this prob. Truth is, it could have been like that a while. I have a great 15mp camera, so I rarely need to use the mediocre-at-best 5mp camera on the Droid. But when I wanted to take a pic without the good one at my disposal, I found my prob.

While I'm searching for a fix to this it made me wonder, "Are there replacement camera apps, much like there are for the browser and messaging apps?" Well, of course there are. Many, in fact. Most seem to be paid apps, but if it's a truly better option, just might be worth it.

So what camera apps are you guys using, or could you recommend one?

Motorola Droid X :: Camera Starting By Itself

Oct 10, 2010

I've had my Droid X since launch and been lurking here for awhile, I haven't had any real issues until now though...

Yesterday, my droid x started randomly opening the camera application without anyone or anything even touching the phone. It's maddeningly frustrating. It wakes the phone up when the screen is off, which kills the battery faster, it randomly pops up when I'm web browsing or writing a text. Has anyone else experienced this, and if so, was there a fix other than taking the phone back to verizon? I haven't gotten the phone wet or dropped it or anything.
