Motorola Droid X : Onstar App - Requested Item Could Not Be Found When Try To Download It
Oct 28, 2010
I have been trying to download the onstar app from the market, but my market can't find it. I am able to find it with appbrain, but it says requested item could not be found when I try to download it.
Other people seem to have no problem with it, so I can only figure it has something to do with being rooted. Has anyone else had this problem, or is there a way to get the app without going through the market?

It's pretty cool that Chevy is supporting the Droid right out of the gate with it's new Chevy Volt remote control app.
Go to the Chevy OnStar demo web page to install the app.

When you go to the App to download, it says it's not found. Any one else have this issue, or know what's wrong? I've tried syncing it too.

K my frustration level is definitely climbing.I've checked and don't see anything related to this specific issue.I'm following the step by step instructions on RootYourDroid. Have tried both the custom recovery image (adb shell is what's getting me that message) and the busybox instructions. Each time, in the adb window when I try either option I get an "error: device not found" After doing some research, I found info saying it likely had something to do with the debugging drivers. So I uninstalled them, reinstalled them and went through that whole process again. Tried both the busybox and custom recovery image steps. Still getting the error message.
Anyone have any experience with this issue that might be willing to sling some help my way?

I've seen articles about OnStar support for Android coming, but it seems like it's only targeted to the Motorola Droid (at least the demo): OnStar Mobile Experience - Smartphone Application for Connectivity and Control of Your Vehicle Anyone hear if it will be supported on the EVO as well, and when that might be?

The title basically says it, there are a handful of apps that I can not figure out how to re-download through App Brain or directly through the Market after installing the 2.2 update. And a few others, but those are the ones I paid for and would like to have now.Are these not compatible with Froyo? Or does anyone have an explanation for why they would be showing up as not found in the Market?

Ive been trying to reroot my droid and get it back to 2.2, i get it to rooted 2.0.1 no issues but when i try to go from there to 2.2 I always get errors in SPrecovery, when i try to do install from SD card i get error 30, when i try to do a backup i usually get and error. I got the backup to go through once but when i try to restore I get error 20. in SPrecovery when I select /mount SD it says SD card can not be found.
In Droid root helper I've mounted renamed installed busybox and flas, ive flashed the recovery, unmounted, synced, rebooted.
seems to go through fine.
then I put the rom I want Kangerades (http://androidforums.com/roms-droid/117131-7-7-10-rom-froyo-kangerade-5-0-9-a.html) green one, I put it in the root of my SD card, reboot to recovery, backup (try to, usually fails) wipe cache, then i try to install ROM from SD card keeps giving error. ( ive tried without wiping cache, with out wiping data and withou wiping both)
and tips? is their something im doing wrong? (first time I rooted and went to 2.2 I had much less issues.
I have also wiped my SD card completely and reinstalled everything (tools etc...)

I switched to blueberry kangerade today, and downloaded the goodies folder that contains a bunch of boot animations and live wallpapers, but the app that runs the kangerade scripts to change the animations and the live wallpapers keeps saying that the zips are not found. i've tried changing the location of the zips to the directory where the app expects to find them and still no luck. is there another way to get the wallpapers and boot animations to work?

I am trying to download mp3 files from my file server onto my Droid. Everytime I try to download a song I get the error message Download Unsuccessful. I thought it was a problem with my server but all of my computers can download from it, and I just went and got my mom's Droid ERIS to test. It could successfully download mp3 files from the server. This is ridiculous, why wouldn't my Droid be able to download these files but the ERIS can? Is this a case of Droid DOESN'T?

For the current application/widget I'm creating I have not set any permissions yet, altough the apk files I have already generated (for example this one: http://code.google.com/p/workregistrationwidget-android/downloads/det...) on install it notifies the users that it requests both SD card access and phone state access. The application source is available here: http://code.google.com/p/workregistrationwidget-android/ Can anyone have a look and tell me what I do wrong or is it just a bug?

All actually I have two problem right now with gps provider. I have samsung spica so maybe this is something in a hardware.
1. location's accuracy is always set to 0 - can anybody explain it, is it phone specific? or something Im doing wrong.
2. I created activity that starts service in same thread and the service requests location updates every 15sec or 20meters so gps are going off for that time and when I have activity in foreground and bound to service I can see location update if I move 20m.
but when I turn my mobile into sleep mode or start another foreground activity it seems like gps is never back so i dont have location updates.
this is strange because before I set 0s while requesting updates and it worked fine - probably because gps was always on.
so again is this something Im doing wrong? should I run service in separate thread? I just run out of ideas!

Somehow when I select icons and menu items now, it's bright red.I'm pretty sure it wasn't there before.Where can I change that back? What was the default color?Even if someone doesn't know the answer, can someone at least select any icon on one of their home screens and tell me what color the background turns.Argh, there's got to be a way to change it.

I just established a socket connection. I am not understanding is it my coding problem or server problem.

I'm having problems trying to use files after moving them.
Example:
I took a bunch of pictures at an event, the created a folder for that event and moved the pictures into it. I can still open the pictures one at a tiem by navigsting too them, but the galleary app still shows the thumbs, but cannot find them.
Example 2:
I downloaded an mp3 for a ring tone, and while in the downloads folder the music player found it and I was able to set it at a ring tone. But I tried to create a ringtones folder, and then music could not find it, and just playing it by opening the file would not allow me to set a ring tone.
So how does this work? I have seen references here to folders called Media and ring tones, but I see nothing like that in the file system on my phone. Where does one put music if they want to actually use the music player?
Is the DCIM folder the ONLY one that works with the photo gallery? Is the Downloads folder the ONLY one that works with the music player?

I am using Android emulator with AVD of Android 2.1 and I have the following problem: Trying to load a URL in a WebView using webView.loadUrl causes it to open in the browser instead.Note: I am talking about the initial opening, not the issue in which links from the WebView open in a browser, though, perhaps it is somehow connected.I've tried several things:I've removed <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.INTERNET" /> from the manifest. That actually made it work correctly, i.e, load the html into the webview. However, as one would expect, the only thing it loaded is "unable to connect the internet" error page.I've debugged the project to make sure and indeed at loadUrl function, it opens Android browser. The CatLog at this point is as such:05-23 22:54:06.858: INFO/Activity Manager(51): Starting activity: Intent { act=android.intent.action.VIEW cat=[android. intent. category.BROWSABLE]dat=http://m.walla.co.il/ErrorPage.aspx?ReturnUrl=/Default.aspx
cmp=com.android.browser/.BrowserActivity i've tried downloading a real sample project ("Hello Android" book source files, project - BrowserView). However, it didn't work just the same. I've created a new project and followed the directions at Google's official tutorial of using WebView and got the same result.I haven't find anyone else complaining about it. Why does it happen?

I rooted my 2.1 ESE81 Droid using SP Recovery method but decided to stop at installing busybox. Well, I found out that DroidExplorer requires it so I went ahead and started the process of installing it, but for the life of me, I cannot get adb to recognize my droid again. It worked fine when I initially used it to obtain root, but now that it's rooted, whenever I try any adb commands I get "error: device not found". I have the Motorola 4.2 Consumer Drivers installed, I have the Droid set to enable USB debugging, just as I did when I got the phone rooted. In fact, it was just after I rebooted the phone after installing su and Superuser.apk that the error started happening. I can run su and get the # prompt from the terminal emulator on the phone and everything, I just can't get adb to connect to the dang phone. I've been reading on other forums that some people found that the device ID's in the android_winusb.inf file under the AndroidSDK/tools folder are not the same after the phone is rooted, but I don't know about that. This is really baffling. I'm thinking of copying the busybox binary to the SD Card and just copying it using the terminal emulator on the phone and just running the rest of the commands there instead of trying to do it through adb. But, I'll want adb working no matter what.
