I am using the default application for email on the 2.2 OS. When I receive a link on my yahoo mail account I am unable to click on the link so it will open. Is this a bug in the software. I don't recall if this worked in 2.1

Home with my new Droid. I have successfully setup my Hot mail and G Mail accounts but having all kinds of trouble with my Yahoo mail account. Receiving error that states "User Name/Password not correct". Anyone have success setting up their Yahoo account on the Droid?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just pulled the battery to do a reset last night after a lockup and today I'm getting notifications everytime I get a new email. it never used to do this and i figured it was just cause I didn't use the gmail. now I'm thinking that it just might be one of the background tasks that I was always killing. I recently switched to home++ and I didn't use the built in task killer all day. so I guess my question is, does anyone know which background task would control this so I don't kill it? also, is there a place to go in the settings to change the led color for email alerts?

1. I said yes to the upgrade on Friday
2. Set up and turned wi-fi on
3. Turned the location feature on
After Yahoo email stopped working I deleted the account from EVO and set up Yahoo email again. It downloaded the emails for the last two weeks but it stopped downloading messages on 7/01/10 the last "good" day before the update I accepted.
On Froyo, you have to manually format Yahoo Mail a bit differently to make it work:
imap.mail.yahoo.com
smtp.mobile.mail.yahoo.com
This has been working for me for weeks now but suddenly it is giving me "incorrect username or password" error.
I remembered from my G1 days a way to sync the E-Mail app up to Yahoo's free (not PoP3) servers so I gave it try on my new BH2 and it works just fine:Here are the steps:
1. Enter Yahoo ID and Password (hint, just use your "username", not the whole joeblow@yahoo.com
2. Select Manual Setup
3. Setup IMAP
4. Incoming server is imap.mail.yahoo.com
5. Port is 143
6. Security Type is "TLS (if available)"
7. Leave IMAP path prefix blank
8. Hit next
9. SMTP Server is smtp.mobile.mail.yahoo.com
10. Port is 25
11. Security is again TLS (if available)
12. Check Require sign-in
13. Verify username and password
14. enjoy
To Sync up, you CANNOT be on WiFi (dunno why, maybe Yahoo has a deal with T-Mobile?).One other note: if after rechecking all your settings and it still says "invalid username/password" try going onto your Yahoo Account and change your "Location" to ASIA ! Weird I know, but for some reason, some people can't get this to work with US-English as their Yahoo Locale (not talking about your phone's settings here, all on Yahoo site end!).
When I first got my Moment, I couldn't get my Yahoo email to work under the "email" app.
I tried the following settings and it miraculously worked! I've been getting my Yahoo email on my Moment flawlessly for the past month: Go to manual setup > IMAP account and change to these settings....
INCOMING
Imap server - imap.mail.yahoo.com
port - 143
security type - TLS (if available)
OUTGOING
SMTP Server- smtp.mobile.mail.yahoo.com
port - 25
security type - TLS (if available)
* check Require sign-in
However, my Yahoo email just stopped working on my Moment yesterday (it won't load new emails into my inbox on my phone)! It keeps telling me "username or password incorrect".. WTH!
Is anyone else having this issue recently? Could this be a new change that Yahoo made?
Does anyone else have any ideas of what the next step could be to resolve this? I'll bet my turkey that if I called Sprint Tech Support they would refer me to Yahoo, and if I called Yahoo, they'd refer me to Sprint!
Also, if you are using the same settings that I've been using and it is still working okay for you, please be so kind as to advise- so I know that that setting above is still working, and it is more likely just an issue with my Sprint Account.
I have a little droid/yahoo mail question. I bought my droid from verizon about a month ago and was able to set up my yahoo mail without a problem (thanks to this site) by buddy got his droid last week and we can't get yahoo to work for him. Have they changed something?

The stock email apps gives me this error message: Authentication failed. Please verify your username/password.
I know im not putting in the wrong email and password, because I logged into my email just perfectly on the computer. And I am NOT connected to wifi when I try to login
I downloaded yahoo mail. It was working fine until this morning. When i tried to login it gave me an error message SSL certificate-check date and time error
Also on the stock email app, does have the ability to add more than one account? I never been in the stock app because it won't let me log in. I would love to continue using yahoo mail (if it ever starts working again) but I only have about 25mb left of memory. And the reason I prefer to use that app instead of the stock email is because it allows to add more than one account.
I go through Set up Email, type in my email address, password and then click next. It doesn't work. I then go back and hit manual setup, but I don' the answers. I'm assuming it's an IMAP account?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI was able to get the work around yahoo email thing to work on my phone but now I have a new situation that's driving me crazy. So at one point, I replied to my yahoo email using the droid and now it seems that it keeps sending the same message over and over and over because my yahoo sent folder shows like hundreds of copies of the same email. Funny thing though is that the person I sent the email to only got the first email and hasn't received the hundreds of dups or they might have and maybe it's been going to the spam folder.how to make this stop?

What is happening is I keep getting the emails over and over no matter how many times I delete them. I dont understand what I am doing wrong. It works but I delete the emails and they come again and again. I had to delete the account to stop the endless loop.
View 8 Replies View RelatedAnyone noticing their Yahoo notification not showing up in the bar when they receive email? I get the sound, but there is no icon displayed in the bar. When I pull the bar down, I see the message title, but the icon does not appear.
Also, I've noticed on the Messaging app, that the Yahoo icon is missing the purple Y. The icon is just a generic looking envelope. Something has changed with the account. Battery pulls or logging in or out of the account have not helped either.
Cannot find a working link to the Chrome extension for this.

Well, i have putted to be notified in 1 hour if i have new emails the problem is the phone didn't check the emails and didn't have the notifications. only if i enter on the "Mail" application i have the new emails.. if i didn't enter, this didn't check the emails. What is the problem?. I have APN droid installed and i have deactivated the 3g 2g gaps. But i have configuration the WIFI to stay connected always.

The problem is that local anchor links (<a href="#link">...) are not working correctly. When the link is clicked, it becomes highlighted, but does not scroll to the corresponding anchor.
This also does not work if I use the WebView's loadUrl() method to load a page that contains anchor links. However, if I load the same URL in the browser, the anchor links do work.
Is there any special handling required to get these to work for a WebView?

Droid X newbie but not new to Android. I've had a Droid for a year (almost) and my work phone just got upgraded form a bb to an X. I'm having trouble with the stock email program being able to send email fro my personal account. I use pair networks for my email hosting. I am able to set up the account to work fine on K9 mail, but not the stock email program. My corporate exchange email doesn't like K9 mail for some reason, so I don't want to use that for personal email if I have to. I notice on K9 mail, there's an option to check to not login for outgoing mail, but on the stock email program, it always asks for user name and pw in the outgoing settings. I have tried leaving them blank, but to no avail.

I could not get Touchdown to work either until I discovered my Microsoft ISA server, in front of my Exchange 2003 server, was not setup right. Once I got that setup ISA Server 2004: Supporting Both Basic and Forms-based Authentication with a Single External IP Address and Web Listener (v1.1) the sync started working greatThe benefits of Touchdown are immense and I am no longer interested in Froyo handling of Exchange email. I am an IT guy and will recommend this program to all my android folks.
View 3 Replies View RelatedUsing the stock Messenging app with the universal inbox. I have a couple of IMAP accounts setup and push turned on. Something odd happens to the Messenging app that prevents it from getting mail. It will hang quite often to the point where no mail is received at all until it gets unstuck (sometimes up to a half hour). If I go into the email account, it shows the spinning arrows as if it is trying to sync, but it just spins.
At first, I tried all the usual troubleshooting. I removed and re-added the e-mail accounts. I turned push off and on. I rebooted. I tried just about everything I could think of, but this has been going on since I got the Droid X. I made sure it was set to sync even when wifi is off. I'm not sure what is causing it to hang, but I removed and added each account and it's still happening. Eventually, I'll get the emails but sometimes it takes a half hour or more before it frees itself up. I can't even use a Task killer to kill the messenger app because when I open it back up, the arrows are still spinning.

Always just re-entered my account info, but wanted to try restoring it the last time I wiped, and could not get it to work. I restored "Accounts" and "Account and Sync Settings 2.2" and all my Gmail accounts are present, but when I launch the Email app or look at Settings>Accounts my Exchange Email account has not been restored. (I also restored Email 2.2 (only option was Data restore). This was going from one CM nightly to another, so I'm restoring data from two ROM s that are virtually the same. Any advice appreciated - I can add the Exchange Email account back manually, but wondered why I can't restore it. What am I missing?
