I picked up a Droid X today from a local NJ authorized VZW dealer, not a VZW company store. It's my first "smart" phone and I hope it will be worth the extra $30 a month that I will be paying. So far I love it!Anyway, the guy told me to charge the phone all night long.I played with the phone this afternoon and the battery completely died at about 7pm. I plugged it in and checked it at 10pm and it was at 100%. Should I keep it plugged in all night long? The paperwork doesn't say to keep it charging after it's reached 100%.View 4 Replies View Related
Have any of you found that it takes a really long time to charge the phone to 100% battery? Maybe i'm coming from a sidekick and it was short to charge fully but is this true for you guys too or am i just not used to needing this long to charge a phone up?View 2 Replies View Related
My Droid Eris will charge from about 20% to 100% in a matter of 1-3 hours- it's always quite fast! Last night, my phone was at 20% when I went to sleep at about 12am and when I woke up at 6am it was only at 40%. The phone felt very hot. I took it off the charger and put it in another plug. It is now 4pm and the phone is only at 80% and at times feels hot. I checked out the cord and there are no lesions or breaks or any visible problems w/ the cord. I'm not sure what's going on- any thoughts? I'm going to take it to the VZW store to obtain an understanding. It's only been 3-4 months that I obtained the phone.View 2 Replies View Related
My replacement Inc will be here on Tuesday. What is the recommended amount of time to charge the battery the first time? When I was talking to Tech Support when my first Inc was having problems he told me it was best to charge a full 24 hours the first time. I don't know if I can wait 24 hours after receiving my Inc before checking it out!View 9 Replies View Related
i just got my Droid today so I decided to join this forum to keep up on the news on it. I was just wondering how long I'm supposed to charge it the first time before using it.View 6 Replies View Related
I know there are several posts about battery life this technically isn't one. I'm just curious how long a full battery charge takes?
My phone is currently "off" and plugged in. if i click the end button the little battery chart shows that it is charging because the meters are still climbing up. does it ever tell you that your battery is full?
I recently got tablet called Acme TB02 with ics 4.0.3 and I have some problems with it:
1: random reboots
2:long battery charge time(about 12 h) and very fast drain(30% in h)
3:touchscreen problem- I touch one place and some times it reacts in different place of screen.
The internal meter says it is due for charge long before its out of juice. Battery Left widget will give accurate voltage levels, but it too is fooled, even after proper calibration.View 15 Replies View Related
Maybe I just text like a high school girl but it seems one day of use and some surfing the web and facebook and its pretty much dead everynight. not a huge deal since it charges in the car and when im at home but I remember back in the days when a phone lasted days...View 49 Replies View Related
My friend complains that his droid doesn't even last him 5 hours and all he does is text a lot. Is this a common issue?View 26 Replies View Related
I picked up my X at 8am this morning. I've been on it all day long, but I'm noticing that my battery won't gain a charge even though it's been connected for a couple of hours. Am I doing something wrong or do I have an actual issue? I tried AC and USB power and pulled the battery and it's still at 50%.View 10 Replies View Related

How much time does Battery Left say your stock batteries get when fully charged?Mine says 10:43. I'm curious if it is different for different people. (I've drained my battery a couple of times, so the widget says it's "accurate.")View 24 Replies View Related
and I can't figure out what the hell it is? Unplug everyday @ 6:30am, it is now 12:00 noon. Usually battery is around 70 to 80%, but today is @ 50%. I can't figure out what's going on. I don't believe I've done anything much different today than any other day. ETA...I downloaded and installed 2 apps last night from the market...GPS Status (but it and GPS is off) and Microsoft Tag Reader (also is not running).View 7 Replies View Related

I rooted my Moto Droid the other day to 2.2. Now when I plug it into my computer, it doesn't seem to charge. Yesterday I plugged it into my notebook and work desktop and it was at 50%. Left it there for a while, came back and was still at 50%. Tried it while mounted and not mounted. Yet, I Plug it into CLA and Home dock all the time and charges fine.View 6 Replies View Related
I was at work yesterday. Up at 3:30 AM, at work at 4. Phone was on entire time. At about noon the battery was at about 50%. I was very excited about this. I put my phone down for 20 minutes, came back and it was down to 5%? Drained the entire battery yesterday and let it charge overnight. Haven't seen any problems. Didn't have anything like this before the update. I did a reboot and took battery out as well to see if it was a false read, but nothing...View 2 Replies View Related
I had a problem with my last phone with the battery losing the amount of charge it could hold because of the way I charged it. What should I do with the Droid out of the box to ensure this doesn't happen?View 5 Replies View Related
Does anybody know a good portable chargers that you can feed some AAs or ones with their own battery that you can charge?
I am talking about something similar to this:
ThinkGeek :: Turbocell Charger
Turned off live wallpaper and battery lasts twice as long period. I still have Beautiful Home Weather but the live background is now off and I can get through two days on one charge. I know this is not rocket science but question yourself if you need a live wallpaper or better, much better, battery life.View 10 Replies View Related
I manually installed the FRG01B update yesterday. And since doing so, I have noticed a ridiculously steep drop in battery life. Do I need to be running FRG22? Is that available to download manually, if so? I also know that I don't have the version of Facebook that was causing battery drainage. ATK didn't seem to help at all (it might have even made it worse). Is there anything I can do to vastly improve battery life? It would be great if I could get the phone's battery to last at least 24 hours. I already uninstalled ATK, by the way.View 15 Replies View Related
My battery keeps on over heating when i charge it. My battery started acting funny this week when i plugged it in to the charger and it would charge stop charge stop continuous. Should i take it up to Verizon and see what they say.View 13 Replies View Related
This has been an issue that's been bugging me the last few days now. The stock wall charger that came with my Droid X is the 5PN5504A, which has an output rating of 5.1V, 850mA. My understanding is that the mini-USB interface is an industry standard for power delivery to portable devices, which I take to mean that any charge source should work (wall charger, desktop PC, laptop) as long it has uses an USB interface. So any USB-->miniUSB cable can be used to charge any mini-usb device, regardless of power source, right?
I already have several other mini-usb devices, such as bluetooth headsets, which all came with their own wall chargers. However, I checked these chargers, and they all have different outputs: 5V @ 200mA, 5V @ 150mA, 5V @ 550mA. Because the default Droid X cable was so short, I was tempted to use these other chargers. I plugged in the 5V@150mA charger to my Droid X, and found that the phone does not show it's charging (the lighting bolt isn't there, there's no animation on the battery indicator). So then I switched to the 5V@550mA charger, and it DOES charge....................
i feel like my battery is not REALLY charging all the way, which may be for my lack of life in the phone as well. it only takes about 2.5 hours to FULLY charge from about 3-4% all the way to %100 with a green light. i have the phone ON while charging too so i just expect it to take alot longer... what is the average FULL charge time here?View 5 Replies View Related

I know a lot of people have been experiencing 4-5 hour time periods for charging the phone. If you want to cut that down to 2 hours or possibly less, just follow my fix steps!
1. Plug phone in
2. Turn Phone Off
3. Wait 5 seconds
4. Turn Phone On
Voila! But i still do the turning the phone off to get the full charge thing. Hope this helps you all!
Mine is already on 59 percent for the last 20 minutes, I feel charging is extremely slow on this. Or is it a defect?View 7 Replies View Related
I have been trying to charge this thing for about 4-5 hours now and it still won't get a full charge. I'm using a wall charge because I know that is more powerful than charging through my computer, but even with the phone off it is not getting a full charge. In comparison my Evo, Hero, Palm Pre and iPhone charge full within 2-3 hours, closer to 2 with the phone off. I'm just wondering if this is an isolated issue or more widespread.View 7 Replies View Related
Is this normal?
Often at night before I go to bed I'll plug it in to the charger, and the 'charging' icon doesn't appear. I left it overnight, and sure enough, it didn't charge.
I powered off, rebooted, and it is now showing the 'charging' icon. This has happened before.
I just bought an HTC Desire a few hours ago after having been tempted to get it having seen a colleague's Legend. Anyway, the manual that comes with it doesn't really cover that much, and the only information about that battery I can find is on the beginning where it says that it takes about 3 hours to fully charge it. However, it doesn't mention how long you should charge it on your very first usage: until the LED-light turns green, or more (like when I had to charge my old Nokia for 8 hours the first time)? If anyone would lend a helping hand, I'd really appreciate it.View 2 Replies View Related

I posted a thread about my battery life earlier this week, and I thank all the for the help! Here is another issue I am having that may be related. My phone takes forever to charge. Example: used my phone heavily this morning from 5:30 am till around 9am. Came home, battery was down to 15% or so. Plugged it into the AC charger around 10am, went outside and mowed the yard, etc. Finally checked the phone around 4pm, and it was still charging. Battery was showing 90% or so. Shouldn't it fully charge in around 2 hours or less? I did some research and found some people having charging issues after they upgraded to 2.1, which I did right after I got the phone. I did check with my local RS where I got the phone, and the guy I spoke with has a Hero, and his does not do this. He suggested I go to a Sprint store and have them look at it.View 8 Replies View Related

First of all, I'm hoping this isn't a duplicate thread. I honestly looked through the first 40-odd pages of threads in hope of not duplicating an existing topic but I gave up. Here's what's up. Got my Eris around the first of April. It worked great, even after the firmware update in May. First week of June I dropped it. It had its silicone case on so the outside glass didn't break but the LCD display inside did. Found an OEM parts supplier, bought a new LCD and installed it with relative ease. What I've got going on now is that the stupid thing won't charge. Took it to Verizon and the chick there tried to charge it with one of their chargers and it still wouldn't work. She had to send me a new battery since they didn't have them in stock there and it came today. I popped it in and it's got a tad more than half life left but it also will not charge.View 10 Replies View Related
My question is how long should I keep my new x10 mini charging for the first time? Is it OK to disconnect it when fully charge or should I leave it for some hours in charging?View 2 Replies View Related
I have a sprint GNex. I just started having this problem recently (but before the 4.3 update). I plug my phone in overnight and at some point in the middle of the night an error occurs that make the phone think it is off the charger and has a fully depleted battery. The battery level icon shows no charge and if I pull the phone off the charger it immediately says it has to shut down due to a low battery. However, as soon as I turn it back on it is back to normal with a full charge.View 1 Replies View Related
