Anyone know of a "skin" type case, plastic or otherwise that goes on the back and will lock or prevent the keyboard from sliding open. I have no intention of using the keyboard.

Just wondering if anyone has tried the otter box case for the droid over a phantomskinz or invisible shield skin. I want to get the otter box but I might not always want it on so I wanted to put it over my skin that is already on the phone.

View 45 Replies View RelatedAfter trying a few of the clip on cases, I hated how they ALL affected the smoothness on the slide out keyboard. If you look closely to whats happening, they force the sliding motion to happen at an awkward angle which causes resistance and I am sure is not good over time. Anyway, after no real satisfaction, I am just going to stick with the verizon screen protector and naked everywhere else.

It bent the plastic piece up on my phone and I had to snap it back in place, Now it is loose where it was up. I am going to be buying another case from best buy and returning this one to radio shack. Kinda irritated and annoyed.

This transparent Plastic thing is evil, by which I mean I can't get it off. I'm afraid to take a screwdriver to it because I don't want to risk scratching the phone (that was why I got the case in the first place). Does anyone have experience with "incipio" plastic case? Do you know how to get it off safely? Can I take it in the store and have them do it?

i went to pick up my phone and felt that the bottom right portion of the phone where the mic is on the front had some play. Its not noticeble unless you actually touch that part. And now that i know its there its bugging the heck out of me. I would like to know if anyone has this same problem. Or is there a way to fix this? i would really like to know.It's never been dropped or banged.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI was really hoping to save 55% off the cost of the Tmobile Gel Case but alas it was not to be. When my wife saw the case installed on the phone she said "what the heck?" That's because the case fits the Vibrant unevenly. And it doesn't wrap around the bezel fully.
Here is my review:
The Amzer "Silicone Skin Case" is completely unacceptable to me in terms of fit, feel and function. The Vibrant is a top of the line, expensive and amazing device deserving of quality accessories. This case is basically junk and not commensurate with the quality or value of the Vibrant.
First the fit: It slides onto the Vibrant easily enough (too easily in fact - it feels like it might fall off) and the cutouts are all lined up with the camera, USB, etc. However, the case barely fits around the bezel and it fits the face of the phone unevenly so you can see the bezel on one side but not the other side. The last point about the fit is that the phone feels like it could pop out of the case if you squeezed the sides; this is a very unsettling feeling. A case should make you feel more secure not less and it shouldn't detract from the quality appearance of this device.
Second, the feel: The case feels much too thin along the sides, the corners feel nice and thick as they should be to protect the phone. The sides however offer little in the way of protection. It just feels cheap and not nearly thick enough to offer much protection.
Third, the function: I bought a case to protect the phone from damage in the event it is dropped. I want protection around the bezel and the sides and back of the phone. The Amzer case only seems to protect the Vibrant on the corners where this case is thicker. I feel like if I dropped the phone and it landed on the side there would be little to prevent the phone from being damaged.
Needless to say I was disappointed when I tried the Amzer on my Vibrant this afternoon. So much so that I immediately called Amazon to arrange for its return. I have the Gel Case from Tmobile which by comparison is vastly superior although 55% more in price.
In this case you get what you pay for. And I do not want to skimp on protection a device as valuable as the Vibrant. Let's see, save $6 on a case for a $500 phone? No way, not when it's ugly when installed, feels cheap and insecure in the hand, and offers less protection. The Tmobile case fits snugly, wraps evenly around the bezel, is thicker to better protect the phone in the event of an impact.
I give this case 1 out 5 stars. The Tmobile Gel Case gets 4.5 stars.

View 21 Replies View RelatedI had my X sent to me through the mail, which I've never done before. Always I've bought my phones in a store so the phone unboxing and set up has always been done for me. Since there was no instruction booklet I was left to my own devices. There was a little piece of plastic in the back that was marked pull or lift, so I did, thinking it was some sort of protection for the inerds while shipping. Pulled it completely off and then put the battery in. Now I think I've come to realize, that was to make pulling out the battery easier.
My question is this, is the sole purpose of that piece of plastic for pulling the battery out, or is it also protective layer between the phone and the battery? Should I get it replaced? Or am I fine leaving as is and it just being a pain to pull the battery out?

View 6 Replies View RelatedSo I noticed some (protective) plastic on the back of the sliding screen today. I gave it a little flick to see if it was meant to stay, but it peeled right off. Seems to be part of the plastic films put on before shipping. Can't believe I haven't seen this in over 2 months (of course I rarely slide it open).Sliding mechanism is much smoother now and certainly not loose.It has also opened up a whole new Droid Feature: It is so shiny and reflective on the back of the slider now, if you get lost in the woods and are out of cel reception, you can use the back of the slider to reflect the sun and signal the rescue plane while still playing your favorite game to pass the time Droid does Survival tool!

It's very minimal, just a little bit of give that you can't actually see but if you press against it there is a slight clicking noise from the plastic edge moving slightly.
