Is there any way to save a text message thread? I have an ongoing thread with around 64 messages back and forth. Seems like you should be able to send it as an email or something but I don't see it anywhere. Surely there's a way.
Ringdroid is great is you have the song. But if I download a ringtone - it comes as an MP3 attached to a text message. There is no media icon I can see that I can click/hold in order to have the option to save the MP3. So, how can a save an MPS that comes in attached to a text message ?
I want to add some custom ringtones. Ringdroid and Ring Extender both do a nice job, but you need to have the song in order to make a ringtone. I have downloaded ringtones that came as MP3 attachments to a text message. But, I cannot figure out how to save those MP3's. There's no media icon I can click and hold. If I try menu while it's playing - it just backs me out of it, and if I try menu before playing it I just get the usual SMS reply options.
Does anyone know how to save a text msg. containing a .mp3 file as a ringtone. I had an Env2 and was able to send and receive text msg's with .mp3 and save them as ringtones but can't figure it on my new Android.
I just got my first text with a picture since getting this phone last week. In the message, it says "slideshow" and when I click on the "picture", it gives me three icons at the bottom. The far right icon allows me to "save" the picture, but I don't know where it's saving it to, if at all.

I have a 900+ txt message 'thread' with someone that I would like to export to a .TXT file. Is this possible?
I use Handcent for my text messaging and I have one thread I would love to save. But I can't figure out how to do it.I have locked the individual messages of the thread so I don't loose them in my cleanup but I would love to be able to move this entire thread on to my sd card for safe keeping.I checked for an app to do this but didn't fine one so any idea's?
Sometimes when I receive messages it makes the notification sound and will show message in notification bar but the text of the message will not appear in the text thread. Used to happen every once in a while, now doing it multiple times a day. I use Handcent but I doubt that is the problem because the messages dont show up in the regular messaging either. Just want to see if i am alone with this problem.
I know this phone has been out for like 2 hours some places but hopefully someone can help.
I am trying to get a custom ringtone I made free online from a text message. I can play the ringtone from the text but can't figure out how to save it. I press the menu button and it just takes me back to the text. Any ideas?
I am wanting to save a few text messages on my Droid 2 but I can't find the option to save them. Like on the Droid 1 you can just long tap the message and lock it. I really need to lock these messages. If its impossible to lock text is there an app I can use?
Is it possible to save a picture that is sent to you using the stock messaging program on the Droid? If not what is a good replacement app will let me do this? When creating shortcuts to call or message someone is there a way to get rid of the M (H, W, etc) that is put in the upper left corner of the icon on my screen? I don't mind the little phone or convo. icons in the right corner but the M is just too big and covers up a good bit of the icon
When I set my phone to vibrate, it will only vibrate when I get a phone call, not when I get a text or email. I saw some solutions for the Droid, but not the Droid X. I am not sure if the solutions are the same. Also, when it is on ring, it rings and vibrates, not just rings. Any suggestions? My main concern it getting it to vibrate when I get messages, I am not too concerned about the ring/vibrate thing.
I don't know if its a sign I have a lot of stuff on my phone or what but it annoys me when I click the green messaging icon on the phone and it stalls for a second or two before opening or if I had been texting person A and I get another text from person B, when I tap the green icon it will open back up the Texting thread from person A instead! In that case, I have to exit out of all conversations before I can see the new text coming in from Person B!
Do i forward a text message on the X ? For the life of me I cant figure it out. My friend sends me funny texts with pics and jokes and i like to forward them to my other friends and dont know how on this phone.
This is my first smart phone. Very pleased with it so far. But Is there a setting Im missing somewhere. When someone calls or texts and ur not around the phone to hear it doesent the phone have a setting where it rings every 1 or 2 minutes. To alert you that you have some sort of message waiting. Other than the little tiny green light that blinks when u have a message. My env touch you could set it to alert you 1,2 5 15 30 minutes after initial message.
Just the other day i did a factory reset/themed (revolution)/and added the build.prop last night. well now i am receiving the same text message twice in a row. i restarted the phone and did a back from the other day so that should not have the build prop on it but it is still doing the double text. have any of you had this problem? and is there a way to get rid of the theme othe than another factory reset?
this phone is pretty sweet with all that it can do but my major issue is with texting. I use handcent and every once in a while if I get a text and I unlock my phone and open the message before it stops vibrating ill see the first few words on the preview bar but when the handcent finnaly opens the message wont be there. its happend to me prolly 10 times now and kinda sucks asking people to resend the message. It only seems to happen when I open everything quickly, and also once in a while if its doing a function like closing handcent and I hit the power button before it fully closes the phone will restart which also is kinda anoying.
When I put my phone into vibrate mode (either by using the rocker, or going through settings) my phone vibrates when receiving calls, but not when receiving emails or texts, they just stay silent, so I am completely unaware that I have received anything. Is this actually how Motorolla designed it's phone, or am I making a mistake? I receive texts/emails much more than phone calls, but am not always in an environment where I can have my ringer going off. Is there a way to set my text and email alerts (and any other alerts [voicemail, etc.]) to vibrate when in vibrate mode.
My unrooted droid on 2.1 deleted all my text message threads in the stock messaging app even the locked ones. What I don't get is ALL the picture messages are gone but the dialer storage is 10.6 mb. What the heck? It should be almost zero.
On the Motorola Droid what does the little icon mean next to a text that has a little red clock on it? I can't find it anywhere. Also, is there a way to see if someone received a text message? on my other verizon phones I could. It showed a little check mark.
