I just rooted using the One Click method posted above. All went well up to where I rebooted after installing my KaosFroyo v27 I think. My phone is now stuck with a shiny Android logo, flashing over and over. It's been like this for about fifteen minutes now.View 2 Replies View Related

I've entered all of the correct info to connect to my corporate exchange server, but immediately after setting up the account (and on all subsequent attempts to get into that email account), the "Loading..." screen appears with a spinning wheel and never goes away.
End result is that I cannot receive any email from that account nor can I pull down my contacts.
I am connected to my gmail account just fine.
Phone: Samsung Epic
Today I tried to restore my phone back to stock ROM and as I was trying to get into recovery mode and complete a nand restore but it wouldn't let me get in. It would just reboot me back into bootloader. I tried updating my superboot and recovery image to 1.7 and it's just stuck at the loading screen now. Is there anyway to restore it?View 1 Replies View Related
It seems after only a fortnight or so from getting my new Desire (unlocked and unrooted) I've already run into a problem I can't seem to fix. I was running a game (I believe it was Asphalt HD) while on the charger when my screen went completely black and I found myself at the boot screen. It finished booting but then got stuck on a frozen "loading" screen. I restarted it and it worked fine, I assumed it was the app and tried another one. About ten minutes in I got another black screen and the phone started booting again. Only this time it would do the animated logo, then crash and try to reboot again, over and over until I pulled the battery. Only now it wont boot at all, it will simply sit on the initial HTC boot screen indefinitely. It won't turn off the screen or anything, just sit there in a frozen state.
So far I've tried removing the SD and even SIM cards, leaving it off to charge the battery, doing a factory reset from the boot screen, etc. But every single time, whether I turn it on normally or use the bootloader, all I get is the single "switched on" vibration and the HTC screen, and it just freezes there. I already spent quite a while waiting for this phone to arrive, I REALLY don't want to send it back to the store because it was bought through an importer and I'm worried it will take a very long time for any repairs/replacements. I will if I'm forced to but I would much rather find more methods I could try.
I tried the new speed fix and suddenly all my apps stopped loading. so i rebooted, now it got stuck on galaxy s screen and wont turn on. after waiting i got a black screen and the buttons are lit upView 7 Replies View Related
I got my Droid about a week after release, and have really loved it. A few minor issues here or there, but nothing overly worrisome. In the past few weeks, I've noticed when I'm in an app (and it's not just one or two, it can be almost any app - Dolphin, USA Today, Pocket Kingdoms, etc), and I press home, it takes about 3 seconds for the app to go away and my home screen to show up. However, when the home screen does show up, it just shows my wallpaper, and then takes 5-10-15 seconds for the shortcuts and widgets to load.
My home page(s) are not terribly widget oriented at all. When I restart the phone it fixes it for a couple of days, but then starts up again. I've really just noticed it since the most recent OS update. Anyone else 1.) have this issue, and 2.) know a permanent fix? It's really rather aggravating, especially when I'm in a hurry before going into a meeting or something. I can give some more specific information if needed, as far as specific widgets and apps I'm running, etc. I'm using stock 2.1, no mods or anything.
I'm Running 2.2, CyanogenMod 6.0.0, using a Chevyno1 LV 1.0 ghz kernel with FRG22D.My home screens take forever to load after i do anything, from checking a text message, to reading the news on an app. It takes about 4 or 5 seconds to have all my widgets and icons load up. I'm OCing it to 1.0 ghz and it still loads slow. My phone performs fast overall except for this. I have five screens on my Launcher Pro home, and each one has just one widget. Is there anything I can do to speed it up? Can I clear any caches?View 27 Replies View Related

alright well i was running flyx and decided i wanted to restore to a backup i made on 2.1 pre installing a rom. after the backup began it ran through and ended up at the motorola boot screen. stuck! this is the only recovery i have. now when i boot into recovery i get this message: e:can't open /cache/recovery/commandView 11 Replies View Related
So I'm relatively new to rooting. I'm running BB .4, and that went okay. I'm trying to install a theme using ROM Manager. I backup and wipe and it loads into recovery and all that. That runs okay. Then, when it's rebooting, it gets stuck on the DROID screen. Well, actually, it does it once, goes to the Droid eye, and then just repeats the DROID screen over and over. A battery pull allows me to get back into recovery, which lets me restore my back up and then it boots just fine, but I'd really like to make my phone purple. Any ideas?View 1 Replies View Related
I rooted my phone and have been using the 3G hotspot and some overclocking apps. Today I decided to load a custom rom. I did some research and bought Rom Manager and Bootstrap. I did the bootstrap and than rebooted to recovery. Than I installed rubix from the sd Card. I found someone else with the problem here and people told them to pull the battery and get into recovery. When I do that I get a droid with an exclamation mark screen. I cant seem to get into recovery or do anything and I am stuck at the rubix boot screen. It seems my problem is because I did not wipe my date or clear cache when installing... but I can't get into recovery to re-do it!View 6 Replies View Related
I updated this morning, but after the update it stuck at the 'Motorola' symbol after the reboot. I had to reboot the phone 5 times to get it work and it was fine; however, i just installed flash and have rebooted 5 times and the phone screen is still stuck at the Motorola symbol upon restart. I can hear emails coming in and i can turn the screen on and off but no go. Looks like I am going to Verizon.View 18 Replies View Related
I just rooted my droid to froyo (sapphire) and everything seemed to be going smooth until i rebooted the phone from recovery. The motorola M screen came up and then the sapphire came up. After about ten seconds it goes away and reappears and has been doing this for the past 35 minutes. Is this normal? Any clue on what i need to do to fix this?View 2 Replies View Related
Recieved the Froyo update last night. Hit install, every thing went well up untill the reboot. Stuck on Motorola screen. Took out the Battery ,, nothin still stuck on Motorola screen. Took it to Verizon they couldnt figure it out, Talked to Tech support which is really good at Verizon by the way. They were stumped. So in the end they are sending me a Brand new DX, with an extra SD card and Battery. Not a refurb. So I feel lucky at best.View 2 Replies View Related
I've looked through the documentation and I can't seem to figure out how to have the screen blured/greyed when I select an activity that may take a while to load.
This seems to be an Android standard (both the Camera app and the Camcorder app do it when first selected), but I don't see any documentation on it. I even tried looking through the source of these apps on git, but couldn't seem to find it.
For the past 2 hours I have been searching this site and reading about Rooting and Flashing new ROM's etc. and I'm still having trouble. I downloaded Cyanogen 6.0.0 and when the phone re booted it got stuck at the Cyanogen boot animation screen, and when I pulled the Battery and rebooted in to recovery I was able to restore everything and now the phone works again.
So first off, how long should it take after downloading a new ROM to boot back up with the new ROM installed? And how can I save the ROM in to the SD card? And when I go to DL Cyanogen it asks which home application I should use and gives me ADWlauncher and Launcher 2 as options.
I'm kind of new to Rooting and Roms but I keep getting the same problem while installing Roms using Rom Manager. I flash and then I install the ROM and everything goes well until the boot up screen. It gets stuck in a loop of the Droid and Droid Eye animation and I have to restore it. Can anyone help me figure out what's wrong? I am using the Droid with Froyo, rooted using Easy Root.View 5 Replies View Related
I've had a problem off and on with Appbrain getting stuck on "Loading" when I choose an application to update or download. After doing some Googling, I came across the suggestion that Google Talk needed to be running. I have been using Startup Auditor to keep Google Talk from running at all. I modified Startup Auditor to let Talk run and now I no longer have any problems with Appbrain.View 1 Replies View Related
I just bought my Droid X a couple of weeks ago (2.2 and Rooted). It wanted to do some auto app updates and I told it to do them all not sure if it was before or after that that I noticed a red light by the ear "piece/speaker" and the phone was on and a battery level warning came on which I thought was premature. I plugged in the power cord the light went to green and I looked over a few minutes later and it was dead. I could be a little off on what happened when but that's what happened.
It wont power on now and I've tried holding a few different buttons while powering on and still nothing. I did check the settings the other day and it was successfully backing itself up not sure how to use that backup though. I just looked over after typing this post and the Motorola "M" was on the screen but I couldn't get it to do anything so I pulled the battery and tried again to boot it and nothing.
I was in the process of rooting.I've tried everything, looked at different threads from many different websites, turned it off, pulled battery, tried charging it via wall charger, everything. Am I totally bricked?View 6 Replies View Related

Is there a way to see summary of e-mail and calendar events on the unlock screen? Would be nice to see my next appointment on the screen instead of unlocking and having a look.

As the title says: my mail notification shows that I have six emails (that is: the white number in the green circle) no matter whether I have no emails or plenty. When I delete my emails, it still shows six. I've tried rebooting. It used to work OK. Any ideas?View 17 Replies View Related
I tried to set up my pop3 e-mail on my phone last night and I keep getting a "username or password is incorrect" error message on my incoming email. I am able to send e-mail from the phone. The funny thing is that if I check my email from my PC and empty any e-mail's that are in my inbox, then try to check for new e-mail's with my DroidX (knowing that there are none) I do not get any errors. The errors only occur when there are e-mails in my inbox.Didn't have any problems with this setup with the incredible.View 2 Replies View Related
I have an application that uses OpenGL on a GLSurfaceView. The problem is that the initial load takes quite a while processing textures and getting things ready.
What i want to do is have a simple PNG displayed (with a slight animation) while the GLSurfaceView is getting ready. As soon as it's ready to render, i would like to tear down the splash screen.
What is the right way to do this? I've tried ViewFlipper, ViewSwitcher and a bunch of other things to switch between my R.layout.main view and my GLSurfaceView but i can't seem to get it right.
Any word on if Google plans to open up the e-mail app that gmail uses for other e-mail accounts (hotmail, yahoo, etc). I don't want to forward my mail to gmail nor do I want to switch everything over. I would just like the functionality of the gmail app that came on the phone for other e-mail accounts as well.Anyone know of any updates coming that might address this?View 3 Replies View Related
I have two e-mail icons: an "Email" and a "GMail". Both are working and that is the problem. I am getting notifications from both so I have to read and delete everything twice. I can't Uninstall either of them. Is there a fix for this? They both access the same account so everything is just doubled.View 16 Replies View Related
Both of the stickers - the one on my phone, and the one on the battery still have red X's. I have read that this is good. I dropped my phone in a toilet (recently flushed thank god) in the Staten Island Ferry Terminal (see, nothing good comes of traveling to SI!) and grabbed it out as soon as I saw it. I had a plastic case on the back of it. Took it apart as soon as I got my wits about me. And no, I wasn't using it - It flew out of my backpack when I turned around.
It will turn on but has this odd boot up screen. I don't believe rice will get the water out of the inside, and I don't have a screw driver tiny enough. If I bring it to the Verizon store will they know it had water damage from the screen alone? It looks normal almost like the DOS blue screen of death sort. Also, the little tiny green sticker in the lower right hand corner that says VOID - is that a water damage indicator too? I don't recall ever caring what it was.
Its not doing anything thing? Like all it says is HTC and its got like a spotlight on it, I am charging it now so maybe its because I needed to be charged? a little help!View 2 Replies View Related

I'm trying to load 2.2 on my droid
I opened Droid X Bootstrapper and hit bootstrap recovery and got Success!
I then opened Rom Manager Flashed clockworkmod recovery, went to download rom, stock images, and downloaded Verizon Droid X 2.2, I first tried just backup existing rom, and then tried wiping data also, then tried neither of the two, none seemed to help the issue
Phone then reboots, goes to motorola screen then starts to install rom
Then it says
-assert failed: apply_patch_check (" /system/app/AdService/apk" , and alot of numbers and letters)
-Error in (location of file in sdcard)
I have been at this for the past few hours and its starting to annoy me, I just want 2.2 working so I can deodex it and run NexTheme.
I have a Droid X with OTA 2.2 with ROOT.
I would like to try a few ROMS that are out there.
Can someone give me a list of needed programs and apps that i would need to go forward..........AND the order in which i should load them?
I have Titanium Backup and have done a backup with it. I have the full 2,2 SBF on my PC with RSDlite.
I know this has probably been asked a million times but a step by step would be nice (for me at least). I am reasonably tech but am a very nervous person.
I have backed up all the settings for LP on my SD card. I have ASTRO and I see it there, I just have no idead how to retrieve all the files to allo my D1 to re-load LP again.View 3 Replies View Related
I just received a brand new Droid from Verizon to replace my latest refurb Eris because of all the call problems i have had. I figured I could just swap the 8gb SD card I was using in my Eris (because it's a class 6) and put it in my Droid. But when I went to the gallery it started acting really strange. It seems it's having trouble loading all the images, and it's been kind of jumping around and behaving erratically. Is there anything I need to do to my card?View 5 Replies View Related

I have read quite a bit on task killers and decided that I didn't want to use them, but a friend of mine who has a G1 brought up an interesting point. He told me to look at the programs that are currently running. So I did and saw that there were about 7 that were running in the background that I NEVER use. I understand that you don't want to be constantly shutting down programs you use because it will make your phone run slower (can't access them as quickly). But what about programs I never use? I only use the GMAIL ap, so I don't need the email or the corporate email running. I don't have virtual voice mail, so I don't need that... and so on. Right now, rooting is beyond me, so I'm not going to do that. Are there any other options other than rooting to keep these from loading?View 1 Replies View Related
I have a problem with my phone. It started out as the phone lagging and everything and I went to a representative for Verizon and told me to get the application Advanced Tasked Killer to kill all the task so it won't lag. What do i do? get it replaced?View 1 Replies View Related
I still have rooting on 2.1 but every time I run 2.2 (with the superuser icon), I try to run a program like setcpu (y'know because I thought I was rooted) or any other program that requires root. It still doesn't work and says "no rooted access detected". I load up the superuser app no messages or anything just a black screen. I've tried the "update.zip fix" about 20x and still nothing. Am I doing the update wrong or something? Cause reboot in recovery with clockwork mod and hit "apply update.zip".View 3 Replies View Related
