I remember seeing apps in the market that you could install to have your Droid look like the Hero or iPhone.Specifically the lock screen.I was just wondering if there are any apps yet to make your Droid look like the Incredible? Not just the lock screen, but in general.
Just rooted my Droid 1 2.2 BGR22D but now what? Where do i get free apps? How can i custom my phone and optimize my performance without burning the think out? and what is the purpose of rooting my droid? I catch on to things pretty dam quick so i just need a jump start.
Just curious, I ordered a new Droid X and it will be here in couple of days and I wanted to know if I can either uninstall my paid apps from my original Droid and then install them onto my Droid X or is there a way to move them over to my new X. I only have a few paid apps. Documents to Go Pro, Weather Bug Elite, Remote VNC Pro, but didn't want to have to pay for them again, if they can be moved over.
I haven't paid for any apps yet though I have bought smartphone apps in the past, plenty actually (former Crackberry user). The thing that I love about the Android platform is that there's so many choices for anything you can think of in terms of everyday use and the free versions are actually good and well maintained.
With that all said and done, what are some apps for the Motorola Droid that you feel are worth my money? So far I've considered a few...
1. Beautiful Widgets (Love the clock look + it has weather which I like and toggle buttons for wi-fi/gps/etc) 2. Abduction (free version is fantastic so just to support the developer I'm considering getting the paid version) 3. GDE/Dxtop, haven't decided which I want, but I will be trying them out individually before I decide on a purchase, the moto droid forum seems pretty split on which is better/more stable.
Ok, I'm surprised I am having to post this. Mainly due to I am not computer illiterate. However, I'm having difficulty transferring pics from my pc to my Droid X. It either will not show up on the phone when I copy them onto the phone or it crashes my pc. How do you get pics onto the droid? Any good apps for assisting with this? As well as any good apps for viewing and managing pics and albums on the phone?
So my droid took a "swim" and I will be receiving an Incredible from Asurion in the next couple days. My question is, will the apps that I have purchased for my droid transfer to my Inc? Clearly I don't want to have to pay for them again but if I have to I will.
I can't find a way to access the internal 8GB storage from the phone to put files there, or to open/use files there, for that matter.I can see it from the PC if I mount the Droid, but can't from the phone itself.please point out the obvious thing that I'm missing. I've tried Astro, Root Explorer, and the Files program that came w/the D2, none of them appear to allow me to access the 8gb storage.
Just wondering what apps you guys have uninstalled fromm your rooted droids... I'm really getting annoyed by some of these apps like google talk storage, alarm clock, and calender launching themselves when they have no business at all running. And even regular apps do this which baffles me why people make apps that launch themselves I wish we had user acccount control I bet someone will make this type of app for rooted devices one day.
Does anyone know how to set which apps start when the phone is turned on? Mine always has a lot of stuff running that I don't use (e.g. Corporate Calendar and Voice Dialing) and I would like to keep these apps from starting at all. Even when I kill them with the task killer they automatically open back up at some point. I'm just concerned about battery usage.
Is there any way to remove the factory apps that come installed on the droid or any way to keep them from coming on. For example the corporate calendar shows on when check to make sure no apps are running so I have to hit the kill apps button to stop it until it decides to come on again. I have no use for this and some other apps that came installed
Well I have issues. I always think that my phone isn't running the way it should or could. I have installed many apps and uninstalled a couple. But I have noticed that my browser will force close about every other time I use it.
my phone is a little slow so i was going to format it. i know my contacts and calender will auto download once i login to gmail. but will my apps download or do i need to write them down and redownload? i was told they are on a cloud and will auto downloan within the hour. who knows. this is why i ask
This is hard to explain, but all the videos i show for the droid x shows that when you finger scroll through screen left to right and you get that little thing that pops up on the bottom where you can tap the dots to take you to certain home screens.in that same video i see that the phone arrow for apps and contacts icons move out of site while the dots pop up. until you let go then the navigation dots dissapear and the phone arrow for all apps and contacts icons slide back up.The same thing for deleting an app, when i see someone in the droid x video tap and hold and drag down to bottom to delete the phone, contacts and all apps moves out of the way.
