View 5 RepliesDoes anyone know how to disable the stock dialer? Before 2.1 you could download a dialer and make it the default. Now, with 2.1, that is not possible. So the large "phone" button on the home page is is still the stock dialer even though I have downloaded Dailer One.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWe want to disable the default dialer application and install our own dialer application on phone. We want to know how we can disable the default dialer so that it doesn't listen for missed calls, incoming calls and also it doesn't gets launched by other application for making calls instead our application gets launched. Only our dialer application should be listening on it. We want to use same format as existing content URIs supported by default dialer in our own dialer application. Is this possible? If yes then how we can achieve it? We don't want to delete the call log application code or we don't want to remove it from build. We want to have default dialer in device. Our dialer application will be installed later may be by downloading from Internet by end user.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've come from using a G1 and the Sense Dialer is horrible. Is there any way that I can get the stock Android dialer back?
Or failing that are there any decent dialers in the market which are similar to the standard one?
I have an HTC Rezound. But this issue goes deeper than just the Rezound or even Sense phones.
I installed a dialer app that I *LOVE*...it is faster and more usable than sense, and even themeable. It works perfectly. The problem is that for incoming called, Sense keeps rearing it's fugly head and forcing me to use it.
I have tried disabling various processes and that damn app still comes up on incoming calls. How to make the fugly Sense dialer go away for good without having to root? I do have ICS installed.

My freind rooted his US Cellular LG Genesis with Gingerbreak. He got exdialer so he thought he can delete the stock dialer, but since he did that the phone has no.service... He has no backup for that stock dialer or a nandroid, and the phone is on stock 2.2.2, so looking for lg stock dialer apk from 2.2.2.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a Galaxy S3 i747 that I recently rooted. I use TWRP, ROM Toolbox Pro, and have a backup of everything. While in App Manager, I accidentally sent my stock dialer to user apps. I see the icon in my app drawer so I know its not uninstalled. But I cannot get to it in ROM Toolbox under user apps to switch it back. Since then I cannot connect to the network as expected. I flashed CM 10.2 to see if that would solve my issue...it has not. I can receive incoming calls and SMS but cannot call out. I was also unable to flash Gapps.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was erasing some stuff with titanium backup and I delete intentionally the people app, because I didn't want my phone list on the google account; however deleting people app has broken somehow the dialer too and now I can't use it anymore.
I tryed to delete totally the stock dialer and installing a new one downloaded from google play store but it still doesn't work (I couldn't see while calling).
I tryed to download and use the .apk files from kitkat but none of them works.
My phone is a Moto G and it's rooted.
I want to keep sense, but want to use the stock Android picture gallery, music and dialer app. I don't want to download ANOTHER program, I just want to use the stock android version of it. Switching the home screen back to the default launcher (from sense) does not change the gallery, picture or dialer app.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThe lack of BT voice dial is really annoying, I was looking for a solution and found, maybe, this. It doesn't look perfect (still have to activate through phone, not BT)...has anyone tried it?Might be worth $4 if it works since I don't see when real VD is going to be added to Android.
View 10 Replies View RelatedBeen running Rubix since 1.6 release. Recently updated to 1.8.9. Been running it for a day then decided to theme it. I put Buyers Beware on it and ran it for half a day. Ran great!! Saved a backup and then flashed back to my bare 1.8.9 backup and installed Sinful Blue theme. Ran this theme for a day. Last night I noticed that my Settings menu was missing. It wasn't there. Couldn't find it anywhere. Opened spare part to look at battery info and it forced closed. Then I noticed that everything in spare parts FC'ed. Fed up I flashed back my good Buyers Beware backup. Once rebooted there was no service. Funny, unlocked the phone and there is no dialer. It says that application isn't loaded on my phone. Also my contacts app is gone. Gettin' worried. Flashed back to my bare 1.8.9 backup and everything works great. For kicks and giggles I rebooted recovery and loaded the Buyers Beware theme again, the one that worked great when I first installed....NO DIALER AGAIN! Back to bare 1.8.9 I go.

View 5 Replies View RelatedEverytime i open up the dialer on my x it works fine in the sense of letting me dial a number. However, if i switch to the favorites or contacts tabs at the top my phone will exit out of the dialer back to the home screen. I hope this is something that can be fixed over an update. Btw if i go directly to contacts from the home scrren it works fine.
View 20 Replies View RelatedI have just gotten this phone and am very aggravated by the Voice Dialer. I use a blutooth headset, and use that because I work outside and my hands are usually sweaty or wet. The issue is that it's awful. It hardly ever hears me correctly, and without any warning it calls the wrong person! Very annoying at 7 in the morning, or 10 at night when you start dialing random people.I tried a different method, saying "open contacts" and it still dials random people. The Google Voice App understands me perfectly when I use it for texting or email. Why can't this Voice Dialer? Is there a way to replace the Voice Dialer with something better?Or is there a way to force it to confirm who I want to call?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI had to call in to the automated system and enter my jury ID number and pin. The ID number is 9 digits and the pin is 4 digits. When punching these numbers in using the stock dialer, the system I was calling kept messing up. It didn't prompt me like it should, and when it read my entries back to me, they were wrong. The system would report that I'd entered 88 when I'd entered 80 or something. I tried this 3 or so times before I started to think my phone was the problem. I called back with another phone and it worked fine (it was some old Motorola phone but I've actually interacted with this system using my iPhone 3G in the past just fine). I called the system back with my X and, this time, punched in the numbers slowly (half a second or so between key presses). This time, everything went swimmingly. I haven't replicated this on other automated systems, but it's clear at least one of them has a problem with the X's stock dialer when it's used quickly. Anyone have a similar problem?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI use a bluetooth, and people typically can hear me quite well, but not the voice dialer. I am wondering if there is a way to get the voice dialer to prompt you to choose the contact instead of dialing directly. It's annoying when I say "Dial People's Gas" and it calls "Cheryl" I guess I am looking for the good ole voice promts that ask you "Call People's?" and you say yes or no.

View 13 Replies View RelatedOn my Droid 1 and Fascinate, I am able to program in my Voice Dial password and long press 1 on the dialer keypad to call voicemail and have my password entered automatically.I can still enter my password in the X's Menu, Settings, Call Settings, Voicemail Settings, Voicemail Number. However, the dialer that comes up when I press the shortcut icon I have setup in my LP dock brings up the Blur dialer? Whatever it is, the voicemail password does not get entered automatically and I have to still manually enter my password.Does anyone know how to get the VM password to enter automatically, or to disable the Blur dialer and get the stock Android dialer back?
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen i first got the droid in Nov , it was stunned that the dialer didn't dial by name.
I downloaded superdial, which has this capability, but it is running a bit slow.
Does anyone else have some comments on other dialers that can do this.
By this I mean that if I want to call DAD, I type in 323 and it brings up DAD in the address book. I have 700 contacts, and cant try scrolling to find names!
Could someone post the following dialer as is below or in white for me?
