Motorola Droid :: ChevyNo1 1.1Ghz ULV Caused Slow Loading To Boot Loop

Sep 28, 2010

Currently I am running Blueberry Liquid Frozen Yogurt 1.6, with Slayhers 1200 Kernel. I set it up last night and I've been using it very lightly and now I have about 50% battery. Just for kicks and giggles I decided to try ChevyNo1's 1.1Ghz ULV Kernel to see what would happen as I have heard very good things about it. And when I flashed it and upon Reboot the boot animation loaded extremely slow. And when it finally got to the Droid Eye it went into the dreaded boot loop. So now I pose these questions to the Root Gurus, did I do something wrong? Should I choose another kernel? And how do I go about choosing the optimum kernel to maximize performance? With LFY 1.6 and Slayhers 1200kernel I can get a 1339 on Quadrant, and a Short Bench of 316-466, and a long bench of 579-585. And a native bench of 945.77. This is all with SetCPU set to Ondemand.

General :: Factory Reset Caused Boot Loop On Lenovo A830

Sep 28, 2013

I had to install a new firmware for my Lenovo A830, and I did a factory reset. However, it caused my device to reboot all the time - I can't even access the recovery mode. Here's the boot logo of the recovery after which the phone reboots. Here's the image: [URL] .......

It appears for 2-3 seconds, and the device reboots again. Also, it doesn't matter whether I press the combination of keys for the recovery mode or pressing the power button - I always get this boot logo. The only way to shutdown the phone is to remove the battery.

Maybe to reinstall the recovery mode somehow? Or to clean up the whole internal memory from PC? The only thing is that because of the constant reboots I can't access USB (just for the 2-3 seconds until the next reboot).

Motorola Droid :: Slow Home Screen Loading

Sep 7, 2010

I'm Running 2.2, CyanogenMod 6.0.0, using a Chevyno1 LV 1.0 ghz kernel with FRG22D.My home screens take forever to load after i do anything, from checking a text message, to reading the news on an app. It takes about 4 or 5 seconds to have all my widgets and icons load up. I'm OCing it to 1.0 ghz and it still loads slow. My phone performs fast overall except for this. I have five screens on my Launcher Pro home, and each one has just one widget. Is there anything I can do to speed it up? Can I clear any caches?

Motorola Droid :: Cricket Boot Loop

Oct 23, 2010

I have a DROID that has been flashed to cricket. I woke up this morning and the phone was working just fine. I went to turn on music and noticed all of my music was gone. I started my anti virus to see if maybe something there was causing an issue, and during the scan my music showed up. My phone started running really slow and some pop-ups started showing up stating that "whatever the name was" application has not responded with three options "Force close, wait, and report" When I got frustrated enough to pull the battery, I started getting a boot loop. In the past I get the loop anytime I pull the battery, but if I let it run for 3 or 4 boots, the phone works just fine and I go on with my life. This morning I was not able to get back to "just fine" And the phone has been in an infinite loop all day. I have had it charging, I have tried disconnecting the battery and all the options the forums online have stated.

I can boot into recovery, and about every 6-10 boots the main screen will come up after the eye. I get the main screen with my lock code, the time, notification that I have a voicemail, and "no service" with 0 bars. I get that for about 3-10 seconds, and the phone reboots starting yet again at the white droid symbol screen. While in recovery mode I have been able to navigate around the recovery screens. When I try to do a recovery though, I get "Error: nandroid exited with status 20" if I try to do a backup I get the same error just with status "36" I have no idea where do go from here. I have read that if I flash the SPRecovery it will fix the boot loop, but the biggest thing I am worried about here is loosing my Cricket flash. I do not know how all of this stuff works, so if I am calling the Cricket "flash" wrong, please by all means correct me. If I can flash the SPRecovery while keeping my provider's "flash," or whatever you want to call it, are there instructions on how to do this flash of the SPRecovery? I have recently gotten my entry code in fast enough to get the background to show up. I have a loader app loaded and it showed all the icons at the bottom of the screen, but after a few seconds the phone went back into a boot loop. It showed the correct background, but it didn't show any of the applications loaded. I have let the phone reboot twice since starting this response, and got the same result. The second time I got my code in, I was able to see apps on the background, but a few short seconds later, the phone freezes and shuts off again. I see that I am making progress, but it has been hours so I am hoping there will be a quick answer to help me here.

Motorola Droid :: Rebooting It's Own - Stuck In Boot Loop

Jun 19, 2010

My Droid keeps rebooting on it's own. It stuck in a boot loop. I have tried to do a wipe and restore a android backup that I made last week but it is still rebooting. As soon as the phone tries to mount the SD card reboots. I have also tried to restore it to a plain vanilla backup that I made right after I rooted my phone.

Clockwork see the SD card with no problems and can read and write to it. Also Win 7 can see the card when I put it in my laptop. This seems to have started after I used MotoTorch Flashlight and had to do a battery pull on it because the phone locked up.

Motorola Droid X :: Phone Locks Up And Goes Into A Boot Loop

Aug 5, 2010

So I got my X yesterday. about 20 minutes in to downloading my apps the phone locks up and goes into a boot loop. I was having a mini panic attack right there in the middle of Sam's club! I finally get into the menu and perform a facotry reset. Problem solved? No It powers back up and as I'm going thru the activation process, the phone reboots again! WTF! I wait for it to come back on and I finally get it activated. Well as I'm going thru the menu checking the settings it reboots AGAIN. So all in all last night it randomly rebooted about 15 times while I was doing something different almost everytime.

Motorola Droid :: Stuck In Boot Loop After Downloads ROM's

Jun 12, 2010

Just like I did to root, I followed this forum and DroidReview YouTube videos to install ROMs. I installed ROM Manager and downloaded a few (free) ROMs. I made a back up of the stock ROM or whatever you want to call it. For both ROMs, after it downloads, installs, and boots, it gets stuck at the Droid and Droid Eye phases. It goes from saying 'Droid', to the eye, to a black screen, and then starts it over and over again.
Thankfully, I was able to figure out how to restore the previous backup I made using the recovery/nandroid menus. what's going on with my Droid (or me)? After two tries, I'm guessing it's not the specific ROMs and something else is going on. All help is appreciated! I really want to get this sorted out! Thank you!!!!!

The only thing I have access to is the recovery console and the big endless loop. So at no point the phone turns on to the point where the PC will detect it as a device.

Motorola Droid :: Loading ROMS And Boot Looping

May 12, 2010

I'm using the ROM Manager but I have had this issue too when using the nandroid methods.

When I install just about ANY ROM other than the Cyanogen ROM I have issues with boot looping. Its very odd. If I am running the Cyanogen ROM I have no issues at all. I get the boot loop immediately after loading the ROM. No applications have been installed yet, and I have not even had the chance to do any restores using Titanium Backup.

The latest ROM I attempted was the Steam Dark Edge 1.2. Before that I have tried the Bugless Beast (Prior to 1.0) and with both I have boot loop issues. Also the same with the latest Ultimate Droid and Smoked Glass. So it must be something I'm doing or not doing.

If Im in the ROM manager I choose the option to allow the wipe. I have also booted into the Clockwork Recovery and manually wiped 2 times and attempted the update and again, boot loop.

When I am doing the ROM install from ROM Manager, the phone is running Cyanogen at the latest version. I don't remember ever installing a custom kernel but with all of the ROMS I have messed with over time I may have however that should be cleared with the wipe correct?

Motorola Droid X :: Stuck In Droid Red Eye Boot Loop After SPF

Sep 13, 2010

so I've been into rooting for a few months now. I started on the Droid and moved onto the Droid X. I got my X to 2.1 rooted, then 2.2 rooted, then the 2.2 rooted deodexed post on the forums here. I wanted to move onto FlyX, but wanted to run it clean and not over the deodexed version I had installed. Unfortunately I hadn't made a nandroid backup of the base 2.2 version. So I decided to start COMPLETELY over by flashing the SBF like I did orginally to upgrade to 2.2 (because I had a theme). Now, everytime I flash, it just stays in a bootloop that starts after the moto logo. It will show Droid, explode to the eye, and start over.I've reflashed about 3 times, and taken out the battery several times for each flash. So...any ideas or am I pretty much boned?

Motorola Droid :: Droid Is Stuck In Boot Loop

Mar 12, 2010

First time post here, hoping for some advice. This is the situation: as of late, my Droid would occasionally reboot itself. Didn't think much of it (new phone, new system. Wasn't expecting perfection). However, tonight (while updating an app from the market) the phone froze, rebooted and got stuck in 'The Red Eye of Death' loop. I tried pulling out the battery and sd card several times. No luck. After googling and reading various postings (this forum and others), I started to notice that a lot of the issues revolved around 'rooting'. I have a sense of what rooting is however I have no real interest in it (warranty, wait for update, etc.). But apparently, I have a rooting problem. I'm able to get to the recovery mode (power up while pressing 'X', etc.). The choices I get are: 1.reboot system now 2.apply sdcard:update.zip 3. wipe data/factory reset 4. wipe cache partition. But under all that is 'E:cant open /cache/recovery/command droid'. When I run 'sdcard update' option, I get 'No such file or directory. Verification failed. Installation aborted.' My first question is: what is it trying to update to? I was already at 2.0.1. Has the phone somehow reverted back to 2.0 and is trying to get back to 2.0.1? And if so, why is the update file missing? I think I have four options. The first is to return the phone and wrestle for a new one (and not a refurbished one). Although, this may be the easiest route, there's a lot of work I've put into my phone already; files, settings and apps that I don't want to lose. Plus I just don't want to deal with a Verizon rep if I don't have to.

Second option is to try 'wipe data/factory reset'. Again, don't want to start from scratch. However, I find this option more desirable than the first because I get to keep my 'new' phone, which I've already grown attached to. My only concern with this though, is that I read a post where someone tried this option but his phone then became deactivated and he couldn't re-activate using his original numbers. So that's a potential risk. Third choice putting the sd card into my laptop, download and install the 10mb 'update.zip' file, and recover from there Four: the Droid 2.0.1 sbf file / RSDLite solution posted elsewhere on this forum. So my ending questions are: In regards to options 3, if I took this route would I be in essence rooting the phone, or is rooting more than just manually updating your phone? And did the 'Droid sbf file' come about because the 'update.zip' file doesn't always work? Just need some advice to help me make my decision. Just want my good ole Droid back.

Android :: Super Slow Apps Caused By Large Number Of Unending AsyncTasks

Aug 11, 2010

I have no idea, but my app is stalling sometimes completely (not responding to touching the screen) I thought I was following all the rules for threading, but my app is apparently slowing down the Sprint EVO! I have never used an app as slow as my own. I don't get an ANR dialog, though I think I probably should get getting one. I have no idea how to make this application run like every other app I've ever used -- Not freezing. Is it not a good idea to have one HttpClient and keep a static reference to it for all Activities that want to use it? I used to create a new one each time, and thought that changing it to one sped it up. None of my AsyncTasks ever end. If I go to Activity A -> B -> C -> D the first time it will be smooth. I can press back but when I get back to A, its completely frozen, not responding to anything. That when I took that screenshot. I really have no clue what I am doing wrong. Should I manually kill my AsyncTasks on Activity.onPause()?

Motorola Droid :: Boot Loop "catch" - Start Up?

Nov 16, 2010

A friend has been having a ton of trouble with her unrooted, stock 2.2 droid, and today it started boot looping. If she let it loop a few times eventually it would "catch" and start up, but it was a deteriorating situation.

Said friend asked me to root the phone for her and install a more stable ROM/kernel. I agreed, rooted it, and everything worked fine until I restarted it to see if the looping was fixed. It immediately started looping at the M symbol. I tried letting it loop a few times and also pulled the battery and let it sit for 15 minutes, but all this to no avail.

I've tried everything I can think of as far as software goes, including trying to restore to the backup I made, using clockwork to install LFY, and using the RSD Lite method to flash the phone. No matter what I try, it still loops at the M symbol.

All this makes me think that there's a hardware issue involved here. However, before I tell her the phone is shot, I figured I would see if anyone here had an idea.
