Motorola Droid 2 :: Deleting Phone Contacts Without Deleting From Facebook
Sep 19, 2010
I recently synced my Facebook contact to my phone so that I could have their Facebook pic as the pic on my phone. I do not want to have all my Facebook contacts in my Phone. I tried deleting them from my phone but it says that I have to delete them from Facebook in order to do so.
So i just got the phone today and i love it, but my facebook friends got added to my contacts and I'd rather not have them there. Is there a way to remove them other than manually deleting them one by one?
I downloaded an emulator, and was told i could put games on my phone. in the process of trying i must have hacked my phone. ask me how i have no idea. my android has been deleting the contacts off my phone and when i try to import them they never stay on my phone. its pretty annoying. if some one could point me in the right direction, i am new to the forum and i just want my phone to be back to normal and stop running slow.
I have a customer with a Droid Eris stuck at the boot screen (3 dancing green droid guys) and it wont go past that. I can boot it into Hboot, I've done a factory reset, didn't work. The customer said they deleted all their contacts from the phone, charged it then the next day it was stuck like this.
how google accounts work. I got a phone previously owned by a family member and all his contacts are still in the phone. I was wondering if it is possible to delete all the contacts on the phone but not affect his google account contacts? Also, if i reformat the phone, will this delete all his google contacts?
When I set my phone up it loaded every singe contact from my GMAIL contacts onto my phone. I don't necessarily want all of these clogging up my phone, but when I go to delete them from my phone they also get deleted from my contact list in GMAIL. Also the same with emails. If I delete them on my phone, they get removed from GMAIL inbox.
My old blackberry would give the an option of "delete from phone" or "delete from phone AND gmail".
Having an issue where anytime I try to add a new contact manually for a new phone number or create it using the "create new contact" feature via an old text message by that phone number's owner, my phone automatically deletes it within seconds. This happens only when the sync settings under settings-->accounts & sync-->background information are enabled. The new contact gets deleted regardless whether I add the new contact BEFORE enabling sync or whether I add it WHILE sync is enabled.
I bought my moto droid about a week ago, but loved it until two days ago . The problem is it keeps deleting my pictures and ringtones, they just go away randomly over the pass two days. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Whenever i enter a new contact they stay in my phone for about a minute and then i go back to my "people" page and they have disappeared (i see them for a second, then they disappear) They are contacts i have entered manually. all of the contacts show up on my gmail page. but they arent on my phone. I have tried it with syncing on and off. same thing happens. So i am just trying to get some info on this before i try a factory reset(dont really want to)
My week old phone seems to randomly select contacts and deletes them from my phone. I have to then log onto the website and go into the synchronisation page and rummage around in the contacts trash to restore them and then re-sync..
I have the Google Sync selected within the Data Synchornisation settings but I have auto synchronisation turned off.
Do I need to change my sync settings or is there a problem?
I am seriously considering deleting the Facebook (FB) App from my Android handset. First off, I have a quick question:
I'm using the Sprint HTC Hero (CDMA) which has still not upgraded to Android 2.0, 2.1, or whatever the lastest update is. I'm assuming we're all using the latest FB App, correct? Android is great, and far superior to the iPhone / iPod Touch in my opinion when it comes to the operating system and multitasking. However, with one exception:.................
When i type a email address it seems the phone copies it somewhere, not in my contacts list. ive typed in some bad email addresses and now they will show up on a list while typing in a address that starts with the same letter. i cannot find out where to delete the bad email adds.
why my S4 is deleting all my contacts from it. I have my contacts synced with my gmail contacts and this has been the case for years. I had a Samsung Infuse before this and have never had a problem. I've had the S4 for about 3 weeks now and this hasn't happened until yesterday. And since yesterday it has happened 3x's. At first I thought it was a Trulia app (realestate app) that I was using to try to call some realtors. I'm not sure if it was a coincidence but the first 2 times I was on the app and my contacts disappeared. How I recovered them was through the contacts recovery feature on Gmail. I would be SOL if I were out and needed to call someone on my contacts list immediately and without access to my laptop.
I know there are a few threads similar to this but I didnt see one that really answer my question. Basically when you press on PHONE and the dialer with the keypad and the contacts/call history shows up. Basically, that screen have my FACEBOOK contacts and my PEOPLE contacts. And because of that I have like 1200 contacts...some I dont even talk to like that and some dont even have phone numbers but its there. I dont know how to get rid some of it. Basically, I want to know how to get rid of some of the FACEBOOK contacts. Or if I cant do that, is there any way to have the PEOPLE contacts show only when you press on the PHONE button? I have tried LONG PRESS....EDITING the facebook contacts.
When i got my new phone, all the contacts were transferred over from my previous phone. I also have all my contacts in Google. When Google sync'd to the phone it created a duplicate of all the contacts. Is there a way to delete all the phone contacts so that all i have is the google contacts, which is what i use as the "master". I know i can reset the phone to factory defaults but i have a lot of apps, music and pictures on there that i would prefer to not have to try and backup and reload.
I have a lot of contacts loaded from my SIM. TouchWiz doesn't provide any way of selecting multiple contacts for delete operation, I have to do it one by one, this sucks! Any apps in Android market that can help out with this?
When I go into a contact on some I have multiple numbers for them which is fine. But when editing within some contacts it lists 4 or 5 'google contacts' for that person. Some of which don't even have a name and/or number. How do I delete these extra google contacts?
I got HTC Sync set-up to sync up my outlook calendar and contacts. ran it through, and other than truncating address fields to 25 chars, it all worked fine. But then I ran it again, to cehck it was all ok giong forwards (ie expecting no updates), and it:Deleted 32 of my 200 contacts (seemingly at random) from Outlook - left them on the phone. If I manually replace them oon Outlook then duplicates are created on the phone on next sync. Altered 3 recurring appointments (birthdays, 3 out of about 40 in my calendar) in Outlook so that instead of running from midnight to midnight (ie all day events) they run from 23:00 to 23:00, and hence show up over two days. Claimed to have updated a handful more contacts, though I can't see what may have changed. how to avoid? Number 2 is particularly odd. I'm guessing it's something to do with daylight saving, but why only 3 of 40? I've checked the settings against other non-affected appointments, and can see no difference!
