Motorola CLIQ : Whenever Reply To Message Off The Home Screen Widget - Automatically Defaults To Home Number For That Contact
Feb 21, 2010
This is more of an annoyance, but whenever I reply to a message off the home screen widget, it automatically defaults to the home number for that contact, instead of replying to the same (cell) number that it was sent from. If I go into the messaging app, it works as it should (replies to the same number).
I'm look for one that I can just scroll thru all my contacts on one of my home screens, you know with out hitting the contacts icon on the screen. Just the way you can do it on sweeter home 2. I'm not looking for one where I can just put my favs on. I'm looking for one that will list all my contacts.
Two things I'd like to be able to do with my incredible.First is reduce the number of homescreens. Seven is really pointless for me, it makes finding the right screen take a little longer and there's just not enough good quality widgets that I need to use. I could do better with 5 and possibly just 3.Second is that when I'm not on a homescreen and I hit the home button, I'd like it to go back to the LAST homescreen I was on, not the center one. And if I'm already on a homescreen, once again pull up the homescreen select menu, instead of going to the center homescreen. It's a waste of a button press to always go to that center screen when pressing the home button.
I just bought this phone off of CraigsList. When I try to launch the camera, whether using the dedicated camera button on the side of the phone or using the icon on the screen, the display goes blank for one second and then goes back to the Home screen.I called Tmobile, and they just had me do a hard reset which didn't have an effect.
I'm using helixlauncher and normally the four apps that id have on the default home screen are now in the quickbar on the bottom. So Im lookingg for a replacement widget that I can put there so its not so empty.
I downloaded a couple of widgets one having to do with battery, wifi, bluetooth, and volume I believe... Well none of them worked and I'm pretty sure I uninstalled all of them. However on the most right side of the home screen it still says Problem Loading Widget.. Doesn't seem to be causing a problem but it is just really annoying.
When I open up messaging on my home screen, it's pretty slow and choppy. I have about 10 threads open with about 3,000 txts total. I delete most pictures and animations I receive, to save memory, but I like to keep my text txts. It's slow when I scroll down through my threads, and it takes a second or two to open up a thread, regardless if it has 10 txts in it, or 2,000. Anyone else have this problem? I should add that it did not improve after the update. I wonder if I'm low on memory overall, but I have 87M free according to my advanced task killer app. I get what seems to be a glitch too, when I get a text message and it appears at the status bar at the top, sometimes it shows the same text three or four times, at random intervals. Sometimes it just shows it once, like it should?
I have a application which will retrieve all the contact details and will display all the available Contact Names in a SimpleCursorAdapter. so once user select a particular name number will be displayed. which works fine. but now i want to display HOME and WORK numbers if available. how can i achieve this?
I am not sure if this came up in one of the topics, but I may have missed it.
For the past week, I noticed some of my contact priority number was defaulting to the number I least call. This morning, while trying to figure how to make priority changes, I noticed it was due to linking it to facebook.
I linked my wife's info with her facebook and the priority number (mobile) pushed it to her home number information she has on her facebook account. So instead of me just going to click on my wife's name or say a command to call wife, I have to scroll to find the number I want to call.
I there a fix for this to let us set the priorities?
This is the only thing I miss from my Blackberry. I know I can add a message icon on the homeccreen but I want to have 1 inbox on my homescreen that displays an unread message count and the inbox includes:
-all missed calls
Is there an app for this? or a way to do it i'm missing? search resulted in unadressed topics.
I am wondering if anybody has found enough apps/widgets to fill all 5 screens? I can't seem to be able to find enough things to yet. Would the performance be hindered any if I was able to do so?woulld it just kill the battery too?
I'm afraid to bring this up as I suspect I might be headed for a replacement phone,For the last week or so, I've noticed my phone seems to be scrolling to the left automatically. The home screen will scroll as well as if I'm in the market for example and trying to enter a search term, the blinking cursor will move to the left. It's more of an annoyance than anything else. The phone still works great, but I'm worried that it might turn into something bigger.
I've been experiencing a problem where the phone vibrates in short pulses and returns to the home screen. The home button also vibrates at the same time. It hasn't happened much maybe 7 times or so since Sunday. Curious what it could be.
Is there a simple setting that will automatically disable my screen lock when I'm at home or at work? If not a setting, is there an app you recommend?
Long version: I'm fairly new to "devices". I got my first, a wifi-only Samsung tablet about 6 months ago and use it sporadically, mostly when traveling, but also it's become my semi-permanent music player at home. I got my first smart phone, a MotoX about 2 weeks ago. Love the MotoX and feel it's exceptionally well designed, easy to configure, and useful, but I have nothing to compare it to other than my wife's IPhone 5.
I have done a web search for this information. I have also searched and scanned around these forums, but didn't find anything I felt comfortable with in terms of how fussy or current the set up steps are or how current the app recommendations are. The two apps I've come across are, IIRC, called "Delayed Lock (trial or paid)" and "Unlock with WiFi".
My question is - today, mid-October 2013 - how do you recommend disabling screen lock while at certain locations. I imagine I'll be using it strictly at work or at home, both of which have wifi I connect to automatically. I might want to disable screen lock while driving, but so far have found my MotoX's Assist driving mode to work very well. I might get a Bluetooth device and at that point would probably want to disable the screen lock while that bluetooth device was connected.
On the car dock the "Car Home" was default to the home key on the Droid. If I backed out of Car Home to get to an app or something, I would just touch the Home key and it would get me back to car home.
I did a search and when you type in .PDF the search doesn't find anything. I'm sure its because of it being a short word.
I have a .PDF I would like to put possibly on one of my home screens as a shortcut. I plugged my Cliq into my computer and put the document in the memory card, but can't navigate to it through the phone. The only way I can find this file is if I open up Beamreader.
I'm developing an application that should add it's shortcut to home screen after installation and remove it after the application is being uninstalled. The application will be preinstalled on the end user device, but still should have an option for uninstall). The task looks very simple but I've faced lots of troubles implementing it. What I have done:
Add shortcut to the home screen using com.android.launcher.action.INSTALL_SHORTCUT on app first launch or on newt device reboot. MANUALY remove shortcut using com.android.launcher.action.UNINSTALL_SHORTCUT................
I'm just starting to get the hang of Sweeter Home Preview 2. And as many of you already know, some widgets (like Beautiful Home) won't update consistantly. I'm going to email the dev my finding so hopefully he can rectify this issue. But in the meantime, you can try this fix/work-around. My Beautiful Home widget has been keeping the correct time for almost 12 hours now ... through many edits, screen changes, and reboots. That was not the case just yesterday. What I finally did was experiment with the "Layer Level" parameter of everything on the screen. What I found was that if the Beautiful Home widget was on the highest level (10), that it will update with no problems. In fact, I have no other Layer Level 10 items on the screen where I'm using that widget.
I have been using LaucherPro for about a month now and really like it. I finally found out how to swipe gesture my dock and all.
Now my problem is that I decided to play with setting a little more and wanted to enable the number of columns and rows on the home screen. I sit my columns to 3 and rows to 1, then attempted to add widgets. However, when I do do I get a message saying that there is no more room on my home screen. I don't have anything on my home screen so I'm not understanding what I am doing wrong. I uninstalled and reinstalled LP and still the same problem.
