LG Ally :: Blue Screen Says Fastbook Mode Started Udc
Can I fix it? It has a blue screen that says fastbook mode started udc_start(). If I can fix my phone I'm done trying with this rooting stuff.

So I don't own a captivate, but I do own another Galaxy S phone, the Vibrant.The vibrant forums, people aren't really responding to the blue tint. So i'm wondering if you guys on the captivate have noticed that everything that should be white, such as a white broweser window, is actually tinted blue?If this is your first smartphone you won't notice probably, but if you own a prior LCD smartphone, try putting your screens next to eachother. Does the Galaxy S look blue?

when ever i get a text or call the blue lock screen pops up and STAYS like that unless i dismiss the screen or look at the text, how do i make it like idle or dim? HTC Desire :: Using Camera And Screen Started Flickering
I was using the camera this morning and after a few seconds the screen started flickering, it then turned a shade of purple and the view split so the bottom of the picture appeared at the top. I rebooted the phone and it was fine for about 30 seconds and then did the same. Second reboot and it appears to be ok. Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue? All software is as standard the phone has not been rooted (yet).

Motorola Droid X :: Phone Started With Negative Screen
Not sure what I did, but on powering up, I had trouble getting it to turn on. Maybe I double pressed the powere button after the power on had started, but as soon as the droid eyeball screen came up, all images on the screen were in negative. This continued through the home screen loading until I turned the phone off and restarted, getting normal colors.

Sprint HTC Hero :: GPS Notification Icon Started Popping Up At Top Of Screen At Random / Fix It?
A few days ago the GPS notification icon started popping up at the top of my screen at random without me even running an app that requires GPS. I have tried to kill any app that potentially uses GPS with taskiller, disabling GPS all-together, and rebooting my phone to get it to go away. The only temporary solution I have found is to enter and then exit google maps. That works for a little while but then, bam, out of nowhere the little satellite icon appears again. I don't mind if it is just a little glitch and my GPS isn't actually being accessed, but if it is, that is a serious hit to my battery life. I haven't noticed a dramatic change in battery life since it started happening but I do seem to get less time out of the phone. Has anyone else had this problem and if so, is it a big deal and how do you fix it?

LG Ally :: Way To Keep Screen On?
On the X-Scope browser there is a setting that will allow you to keep the screen on if the charger is plugged in. Is there a way to do that globally? I'd like to have the screen on while I'm driving and my Ally is in the vent mounted cell holder. Would be VERY handy.

Android :: Handle Screen Orientation Changes With An Activity Started Within A Tab's Activity
I have a TabActivity, and each Tab corresponds to its own Activity. In one of them, in the onCreate method, I use startActivityForResult to show a dialog (specifically, Bump's BumpAPI activity). code:............... The problem is that when the screen orientation changes, it tries to create the tab's activity again which makes another BumpAPI dialog, resulting in multiple stacked on top of each other. Do I have a hook into the started activity to cancel the previous one when the orientation changes? A workaround seems to be to add a button that when clicked, starts the second activity, but that adds an unnecessary step. Also, I can't fix the screen orientation for the entire tabActivity because some of them require typing and users may want to use their physical keyboards.

LG Ally :: Installing ROM - Recovery Screen
I downloaded the velocity 0.3 and I tried to install the ROM but when it goes to the boot it shows an exclamation mark and the android robot thing. Then it goes away and reboots the system again. Its also the same when I try to access recovery mode via ROM manager. I read somewhere it's the signature for the ROM is missing and to change the settings manually but I can't get to recovery screen.

So I cracked my screen and just need to know how to go back to the stock rom and unroot so if Verizon agreed to replace the phone they won't know I tried to mess with it root-wise. If anyone has done this before please post your experiences. My friend cracked his screen twice and had a rooted phone and had it replaced twice, so I know it can be done.

LG Ally :: Where To Get Replacement Screen For Phone?
I have an LG Ally with a shattered screen. It still works fine, but the glass is broken and it isn't very pleasant to try to use the touchscreen. I already replaced the phone with an HTC Incredible, but I would like to try to repair the Ally for my fiance to use. I'm experienced in small electronics repair, but I am having a heck of a time locating the part. It just isn't coming up on any cell phone repair sites. Does anyone know of a supplier who would sell a replacement screen for this phone?

I was doing a restore from another thread back to v6 and everything was going smoothly my phone went to a screen that says Downloading do no unplug...so after the software on the pc kept telling me no connection i would just keep trying again and after so many attemps it didnt let me retry anymore...so after trying hard reboot removing battery etc. this screen remains....

LG Ally :: Screen Stays Black After Call
So when you normally make a call and the screen turns black when you put the phone next to your face. When you pull it away from your face the screen is supposed to come back on. My Ally's screen refuses to light back up. If I slide the keyboard out before the call ends the screen will come back on. If the call ends before I do that I have a black/dead screen for a random amount of time. This happened on stock rom and Velocity.

LG Ally :: Tried To Flash ROM And Now Stuck On Android Screen
I tried to load velocity using ROM manager and it would boot, but it got force quit messages repeatedly before I could do anything else so I tried holding volume down, home, and send together and it flashed a screen quickly with the little android guy and a progress bar and then after that it won't go past the android logo. I tried using the LG-utility to flash it but it gives me errors and it wont flash it. What can I do besides run the thing over and get a new phone from insurance?

yesterday I accidentally changed the settings on my ally and I set it so I could see the status of my sent messages. I took it off earlier today because it wasn't what I wanted. Now after 3 messages I have a grey box on my screen that says "Message received by (person's number)" and it doesn't go away unless I turn my phone off and back on again. Then after a few texts, it pops up again and won't go away.

LG Ally :: Changing Lock Screen Clock Font
Thought some others might be interested in doing this if they haven't already. First off, you need root access to do this, and I am not responsible for any damage you may do to your device. 1. Download any font to your SD card. Make sure it is a TrueType font (most are) but double check anyway. Check out dafont.com for a huge selection of fonts. 2. Rename this font to Clockopia. Make sure the "C" is capitalized. 3. Now, open up Root Explorer (or any other file manager with root access) and navigate to system/fonts/. 4. Long click on Clockopia.ttf and copy it. 5. Paste it on your SD Card somewhere and rename it to something like Clockopia-Original. This way you always have a backup. 6. Now, long-click and copy your new downloaded Clockopia. Don't paste it anywhere yet. 7. Navigate back to system/fonts/ and press the "Mount R/W" button. 8. Long click on Clockopia.ttf and press "Delete" 9. Paste the new Clockopia in its place. 10. On the new Clockopia.ttf, long click and press "permissions". Check all the boxes under "Read" and the user box under "Write".

LG Ally :: Skyfire Black Screen After Uninstalling Stock Browser
Not sure if this has been asked before (didn't see a thread on it, anyway), but I uninstalled Android's default browser (Browser.apk) after reading from this post that it was safe, as long as another browser was installed.Afterward, Dolphin and Opera seem to work fine (although I hate Opera, but that's another story). Skyfire, however, just comes up to a black screen, and doesn't do anything else until I decide to exit.Is Skyfire just an overlay of features onto the stock browser, or could something else have disabled it?Also, is there a place/way I can re-download/re-install the stock browser? I mean, I guess I could re-flash my ROM, but that seems a bit excessive.

I have a very noobie question but here it goes. Is there anyway to change the song (as in skip it to the next) on Pandora when the screen is locked? I've been hooking my Ally up to an AUX port in my car and wanted to know if there was an easy way to keep changing the songs while on the road because I lock my screen with a touchcode and find it a big bother to keep having to turn my phone back on to change the song.

LG Ally : Screen Switched To Landscape All Icons - When I Slide Keyboard Out
I got my phone rooted and got velocity on the phone, but i noticed some issues within the first few days. the 50% bug seemed to get worse, before i could do the airplane thing and it would be good for about a week, now when i do it it will last less than a day and i cant get more than a day of battery life with not using my phone much at all, before i could get about 2 days with regular use. when i slide the keyboard out an the screen switched to landscape the all the icons and widgets would disapear then re-appear about 15 seconds later, it does the same thing when closing the keyboard. some times it gets stuck and just flashes the screen with no icon or wigets and the only way i can fix it is rebooting the phone. the flashlight app that comes with it works perfectly but when i close the app the notification lights keeps flashing and changing colors it wont stop untill i reboot the phone. everything else seems to be working fine for me. p.s. the ad blocking in the apps is a very nice addon

This widget was the first glimpse to me of the awesomeness of ANDROID.Within the first couple weeks of having my droid, I began getting annoyed with the Lock Screen while I browsing the web (probably sponging up info from this forum).I then thought, " well,I wonder if there is any way to modify this.. Some app that would disable the lock screen." Low and behold, someone else was already tackling this problem! I found ScreenModeWidget suggested somewhere on the net and searched for it in the market.It wasn't pretty but it did it's job and I loved it. The only problem with it was that the volume and the camera buttons would involuntarily turn the screen on. This almost made it useless. Especially if you wanted to throw your droid in your pocket.Well it seems like Sam finally figured it all out and has released Screen Mode Widget Lite and Screen Mode Widget Pro. I went straight for PRO to show this dev some love so I'm not sure how different the lite version is (I believe it just has an ad one the setup screen). But I can tell you that the PRO is flawless on my Droid.It has 3 different modes: Lock Mode operates your phone like normal Unlock Mode allows your screen to come back on without swiping and Screen Stay will keep your screen on continuously. He added protection for the volume and camera buttons (clutch!) and it has a very handy and simple widget to toggle between modes.Again, to me this is a must have app. It is something I have been looking for since I got my Droid and I am not the only one... I think it took quite some time for the dev to get it right so I would encourage people to donate, it's only like 1 buck! Hope this helps some people

HTC Desire :: Prevent Screen From Going Into Sleep Mode
I want to use the Smart Alarm Clock (same as the Sleep Cycle alarm clock for iPhone), but my Desire goes into sleep mode automatically. Can only pick a time between 15 sec to 30 min. The Smart Alarm Clock doesn't work properly because it requires that the screen is on during the entire night. Is there an application or something else than can disable the sleep mode when I want it?
