1 week in to my wildfire and I'm struggling with sync. Somehow I've managed to sync with my outlook (on XP) but this is done whilst the HTC synch software (3.0.5387) shows no connection to any phone when plugged in. Also when syncing it chews memory on the laptop.Gmail on phone seems to have now been disabled (despite having my gmail contacts and outlook contacts synced via laptop)

I am not happy with the sync thingy or it's attempt to use itunes. I wanted to get away from itunes/ Apple altogether.I have had a go at media monkey but it is a long way off filling my needs.But I have found Sony's Media Go.Media Go: Download - Sony Media Software and Services Inc.It is not perfect by a long shot but at least my Wildfire can use the playlists it creates and does a nice job on getting my podcasts in some kind of order.
The thing I miss most from my itunes/iphone setup is play count and ability to manage the correct placement of folders on the wildfire.Please can we have a discussion on your setup on this matter and what you peeps use for your media management.
This is one of the first problems I encountered when I used HTC Sense to Sync my contacts with facebook. This is what it was like before I synced with facebook.

After Syncing, there DP is up, aswell as email address etc. It also changed the number to

I've found a solution. Go to a contact with the 44xxxxxxxxxx number. Ensure the contact is still linked to facebook
Menu > Edit
This brings up the Edit screen
Scroll down, Then add.
On the Drop down, select Phone > Work
Now, providing you only had one number for that person, you should have two fields. One called Mobile with their number this format 07xxxxxxxxx. (If its in the +44xxxxxxxxx format, then change it to the 07xxxxxxxxx format)
Press on the top field (the original one), then copy all.
Select the field called work, then press on the field, hold, and paste.
Now press Menu > Save.
Now press and HOLD the field called Call work, and set this as your primary number.
Once primary number is on the field called call work, you can now go to Menu > Edit.
Now delete the Field labeled Mobile
Go to the field called work, then change the label to Mobile.
Menu > Save.
This will now stay as your contacts primary number.

i have around 3k messages on my phone at the moment.i needed them deleted, the bulk deleting thing wouldnt work at all, just froze. so i started to delete them one by one. them research on here that you could get apps to delete the convos for you.i downloaded 3 of them. im inpatient.all three didn't work. my phone repeatedly froze and then i couldnt access the messages at all.i Uninstalled all 3 from the market app page thing. ive managed to access my messages once since, afater turning the handset on and off repeatedly.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have just got an HTC Wildfire, but unfortunately I am having problems connection it to my home WiFi network. I am connection to a EDIMAX BR6574n Router and I have the following configured:
SSID Visible
WPA2 AES Passphrase Encryption
Wireless Access control (limits devices by MAC address) have disabled until I can get connected
I have even reset my passprase incase I have forogt it (unlikely). The problem I get is when I try to connect I see the WiFi in the corner of the screen briefly with full bars, but it has a ! next to it and then it disconnects.
I just bought the Wildfire and have got the hang of it.
My problem: I did not put off the sync feature for facebook and now my calender and my contacts are filled with hundreds of people i never interact with. and i somehow cannot erase all the hundreds of birthdays of those people in my calender. the only option i think is to do a Reset. does that delete all my contacts in my sim too? )
I just got a HTC Wildfire and I cannot setup HTC Sync on my phone. Does the Wildfire doesn't support PC connectivity via Sync?

I explicitly mention "a calendar" and "a HTC Android device" since this seems to be a general problem.I installed HTC Sync 3.0 and managed to get Outlook Calendar items from Outlook to the HTC Wildfire. Frustratingly HTC Sync creates a new Calendar on my phone called "PC Sync". So all the items go there. Since this is a new calendar not a single calendar item from my phone goes to Outlook. When I move or create appointments in this new category, they also appear in Outlook. Though this category issue is annoying, the most annoying is that these appointments do not appear in Google Calendar. The new category is simply not there. I suspect "HTC Sync" is a special local category like "My Calendar" is.HTC obviously doesn't quite understand what "synchronization" means and what customers want. Unbelievable that HTC creates its own category where by default there is only one-way synchronization. Not to speak from synchronization from the phone and Google Calendar. Does anyone have an idea how to get Outlook and Google Calendar synchronized via my HTC device?

The notification then pops up on my phone asking which connection type (charge/sync/disk drive), i choose HTC Sync and press 'done'. A window then pops up on the phone screen saying 'unable to find HTC sync on your PC. Please make sure HTC sync is installed and opened on your computer...' HTC sync IS installed and open, i have downloaded it today off the HTC website.

How do I stop this? I have looked under Accounts & Sync > Google > - here it only gives 3 options "Sync calendar", "Sync contacts" and "Sync Google Mail". Under each one it says "Select to sync all" and if I press any of them it just updates & syncs. There is no option to remove the things (contacts) that I would not like synced!

I know it is possible to sync opera desktop version with mobile version but it does not open a few pages correctly on some of the sites i use and i am not too keen on the pc version of opera, its trying to do too much.
Surely i would have thought googles own browser should be able to sync with google mobile browser.
I have a question about HTC Sync. Am I correct in saying that you can't sync google contacts with HTC sync? That you can only sync the ones labeled as Phone? I have a rogers htc android phone and I have been testing the sync functionality of HTC Sync. From what I can tell, HTC sync will only sync contacts created as phone contacts with outlook/windows address book. And will not sync the google contacts to outlook. Is this because the google contacts are saved on the gmail servers and are already synced anyway? Does anybody know of a way to sync google contacts through HTC Sync? Or am I right in assuming that it cannot be done?

View 7 Replies View RelatedFor the past few days, the Data Sync symbol is in the status bar constantly. When I go to Menu>Settings>Accounts and Sync>Google>Sync Contacts, the Syncing symbol is rotating and every 10 seconds or so at the bottom of the screen I will get a red excalamation point and note that states "Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly." I then cancel sync. What is going on? The one thing I can say is that constantly trying to sync drains battery life VERY quickly!

View 2 Replies View Relatedi am running captjager 1.6.2 and everything has been running swimmingly up til now. it is set to auto syn every two hours, when it starts to sync and the little loop icon appears in the notification bar it just hangs there....forever or until i cancel sync and resync manually then it will finish the sync. is there a fix for this that anyone knows of? if not i will be switching back to stock, this has become annoying and probably is killing my battery.
View 2 Replies View RelatedCurrently if I add/modify a contact in gmail it will sync without issue to my phone But if I happen to add a contact onto my phone or change something on my phone, that contact is not being synced to my gmail contacts (it stays on the phone, just doesn't go into gmail as well). Thoughts? I currently only sync 'My Contacts' from gmail to my phone not sure if this matters or not. I don't see an option to sync the other way as I did when using Google Sync on my blackberry.

When I hit the "phone" button on my HTC wildfire it brings up all my contacts on both my SIM card and in the phone memory. Is there anyway that I can see just the SIM card contacts as it shows up all of my contacts twice! When I hit the HTC people button it will just bring up a list of each contact only once, but this takes a few seconds to load.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI bought myself the HTC Wildfire about a week back. I have a few questions regarding the wallpaper and the lock screen resolution.
The Wildfire screen resolution is 240x320. What should the ideal resolution be for my lock screen and wallpaper images?
When I set a 240x320 image as wallpaper or lock screen it appears very pixelated. However, when using resolutions of 640x480 and above, the wallpaper looks great but the lock screen is still pixelated. Also, when selecting the lock screen image I can't select the whole thing. Parts always get cropped.
Somehow the HTC backgrounds that are present on the phone don't look as pixelated although they are of a lower resolution.
I bought an HTC Wildfire. And I cant turn its internet sharing option on . I also did download and install drivers and applications of htc from htc official site.

I have a 1 day old wildfire and have an annoying problem with my apps and widgets disappearing from the main screens. The apps and widgets that go are the one I put on it myself. It then replaces them with the one that are on the phone from new.
