HTC Wildfire :: No File Explorer?
1. Is there anything like a file explorer on the wildfire so that I can browse folders and files on my cell phone? Or do I need to connect it via usb to my computer each time and then select to connect in disk drive mode and use the explorer on the computer to browse the folders on my htc? 2. Talking about the htc sync program, I couldn't connect to the computer via bluetooth and htc sync software. Is there a way to do this or can you only sync using usb cable?

HTC Wildfire :: Wildfire Wallpaper And Lock Screen Resolution
I bought myself the HTC Wildfire about a week back. I have a few questions regarding the wallpaper and the lock screen resolution. The Wildfire screen resolution is 240x320. What should the ideal resolution be for my lock screen and wallpaper images? When I set a 240x320 image as wallpaper or lock screen it appears very pixelated. However, when using resolutions of 640x480 and above, the wallpaper looks great but the lock screen is still pixelated. Also, when selecting the lock screen image I can't select the whole thing. Parts always get cropped. Somehow the HTC backgrounds that are present on the phone don't look as pixelated although they are of a lower resolution.

HTC Incredible :: Install An Apk File
I had the Droid X keyboard installed on my Incredible, but I can't remember how I did it. With the update today, the keyboard is not working, so I uninstalled it. I got an apk file that is supposed to work on 2.2 downloaded onto my SD card, but I don't know what to do next to install the app. It's a zipped file. When I click on it (I'm using Linda File Manager), I get 2 folders. Can someone tell me what I should do next to install this keyboard. I can't live without it. It's so much better than the stock and I can't get used to Swype (which I also installed, but can't remember how).

HTC Wildfire :: Unbranded Wildfire Can't Get Firmware Updates
I have an unbranded HTC Wildfire, but it doesn't download any firmware updates. At the moment my software number is 1.14.110.1 and I know that there's an update to 1.25.405.1. But when I want to check for Software updates it says that there are none. What might be the problem? Is it possible that the phone is still branded but without a sim-lock? Because I get T-Mobile start up screen, but use whole other SIM and there's no T-Mobile in the country i'm from.

HTC Wildfire :: Whats Best Video Format To Use On Wildfire?
what's the best video format to use on the Wildfire? I have successfully used 3GP, but, the quality isn't that good.According to the official HTC website, it supports MP4 and WMV, I tried converting an .avi to MP4 using OJO Soft Total Video converter, transferred it to phone, it shows up in the Gallery, but, when I try to play it, it just displays a static picture and plays the audio. Also, the only way to put it off, is to take the battery out as the phone totally freezes!

HTC Wildfire :: Alternative To Itunes & HTC Sync For Wildfire
I am not happy with the sync thingy or it's attempt to use itunes. I wanted to get away from itunes/ Apple altogether.I have had a go at media monkey but it is a long way off filling my needs. But I have found Sony's Media Go.Media Go: Download - Sony Media Software and Services Inc.It is not perfect by a long shot but at least my Wildfire can use the playlists it creates and does a nice job on getting my podcasts in some kind of order. The thing I miss most from my itunes/iphone setup is play count and ability to manage the correct placement of folders on the wildfire. Please can we have a discussion on your setup on this matter and what you peeps use for your media management.

Android :: Failed To Install Apk File By Package Installer
I have some problem installing my apk file in code. Wondering if anyone could find out what I did wrong. What I was trying to do is put a Check Upgrade function in our program. When user clicks it, it will send request to our web server and find out what is the latest version. I use app versionName to stamp a version, something like 2010.11.23. I don't use the version code in Manifest.xml file. So our program sees the latest VersionName is later than itself, it will download the latest one, and then use the following code to install the new apk file: CODE:........ Now looks like, everytime when I changed the VersionName, it will fail to install the apk file. It downloads the file fine. I don't know exactly why. Sometimes, in Eclips, when I hit debug, I got error saying "Re-installation failed due to different application signatures". I don't know if this is the same error caused the installation failed. So, looks like my questions are: Should that upgrade logic work? I am wondering if it has something to do with the VersoinName. What could cause the application signature change? (I did sign our program before I put it on our server, but I always use the same key file for different versionName. )

Android :: How To Install Copy Protected .apk File In An Emulator?
I want to hide some info (encryption keys) in a private area. I know there are a lot of threads on the topic and from what i can tell - it basically comes down to - there's no security just kidding. It seems like the data you have in your private area /data/data/com.company.product/files is only accessible to your application, so it would be sufficient to store anything (like encryption keys for example) in just plain text files there if you wanted. the big drawback of doing this though is that a "rooted" phone would be able to access that area -- therefore, no security. does "copy protection" solve this problem? if I "copy protect" my .apk bundle, I know that that makes it so that it cannot be seen by "rooted" phones in the Android Market, but what about if the .apk bundle got out in the wild (i.e. posted on some website, not via market). Would a "rooted" phone then be able to grab and install the .apk file (and ultimately gain access to the app-private area)? Could someone install the copy protected .apk file in an emulator?

HTC Wildfire :: Apps Work On Wildfire
Applications such as LOOKOUT ANTI VIRUS do work with the wildfire. Most apps may not be available via the Marketplace so you have to download an application called 'APPBRAIN' and 'FAST WEB INSTALLER' (Basically an add on to enable downloading apps via your HTC browser). By installing Appbrain you can download apps which are not available via the marketplace. To install both apps, simply search for them via the marketplace. Once you are done installing, You can go to Appbrain.com via your computer and log in with your Google mail account and install apps. When you click install, it will send the apps to your phone and will automatically download and install. The other alternative is to log into appbrain via your HTC wildfire browser and install apps directly to your phone. (DO NOT TRY AND INSTALL APPS VIA THE APPBRAIN APPLICATION ON YOUR HTC BECAUSE IT WILL SIMPLY NOT WORK) Its as simple as that. Before i purchased my phone i browsed through these forums and a lot of people were claiming apps would not work with the wildfire due to the low res screen, This did put me off a little but i went for it anyway I have downloaded Lookout Antivirus and it works flawlessly. I have downloaded other applications and they all work.
