HTC Wildfire :: Adding Files To SD Card - Folders Setup
I'd like to start getting my music and pictures etc., on my Wildfire. I've got an 8gb micro-SD card. Question is how does the phone read the card? Do I have to set up folders on the card such as Music, Photos, Videos etc., or do I just pile all my files on the card and the phone then sorts out what's what?

Motorola Droid :: Safe To Remove SD Card Files - Folders
I'm not trying to remove programs necessarily, but more trying to clean up my SD card. I don't know if this makes a difference, but I am rooted. I have a bunch of folders on my SD card that I'm not sure where they came from or what they are for. If anyone can tell me what I can delete, I'd seriously appreciate it. Here's my list: .tmp (directory) albumthumbs (directory) amazonmp3 (directory - I've never used amazon mp3) Android (directory) Clockworkmod (Directory) Cracked Apps (I made this, I use this one) (Directory) data (directory) DCIM (directory) DiskCacheIndex14748 DiskCacheIndex16288 DiskCacheIndex21523 DiskCacheIndex35119 DiskCacheIndex37034 DiskCacheIndex68357 (not sure what type of file, but the icon is a blank sheet of paper)

HTC Droid Eris : Sd Card Folders - Access Other Folders With Saved Data
I usually view email with attachments from my pc because I usually lack the time to download the attachment. Today, I had some spare time so I tried to download an attachment. It downloaded fine but when I went to view it, I received a pop-up box to save it to the sd card. After pressing ok, I was told the save was successful but now I can't find it. Aside from pics and videos, how do I access other folders with saved data?

HTC EVO 4G :: Adding Music In Sub Folders / Contents Not Shown Properly
Can anybody show me how to make (correct) music folders for my Evo? I made a folder called 'Drake' within my Music folder on my SD card, and when you go to the music app and than the library, both his albums show up (So Far Gone and Thank Me Later) that I've created. I made a folder for 'Kanye West', I made two folders for his album (Good Ass Job and Late Registration) but the album folders aren't showing, just the MP3 inside. What happen to my folders? Did I do something wrong? I did everything for 'Kanye West' folder the same thing for Drake, but only the Drake folder and the content within it are showing up properly.

Android :: Samsung Vibrant - Files - Folders
I recently bought the Samsung Vibrant phone. I am a little intimidated by it but trying to learn things, but have two questions I need to find answers for quickly - for business reasons. I found out how to put a file on my computer, but not how to name it...i.e. clients...that type of thing.... AND the guy that talked me into this said that I would be able to access my home computer with this phone so if I needed to send a file while away from the house, I could do that. BUT I cant seem to find that. AND LASTLY...there seem to be a lot of aps on the phone already that I done want or wont use, but the TMobile guy (who uses a blackberry) could not seem to figure out how to get rid of them. ALSO...for anyone looking for some cool covers for the phone...decalgirl.com has some great skins for the phone AND the Realook screne protector is wonderful...changes nothing and cant tell it is there, but do follow the directions as to the water to take all dust out of the air.

Motorola Droid X :: Moving Files Onto Folders
My issue revolves around trying to use apps like the default files app preinstalled on the Droid X, Astro File Manger, or Estrong File Explorer. For some reason when I move files from folder to folder or copy and paste files into different folders the actual files appear to be there but when I go into the actual applications where the files should be they aren't there. Example: I had put a few self made ringtones and notifications onto my SD Card via the USB cable that came with the droid from my computer to my Droid X. I made a seperate Media folder on the Card and put sub folders in that like I was supposed to. All the correct files appeared where they should once I disconnected and looked on my phone. New ringtones were in the ringtone directory through accessing them through settings, notifications where there, etc. Now when I try moving one of my ringtones into my notifications folder via, Astro file manager or Estrong File Explorer or the files app that came with the Droid X is moves the files into the folder and you can see it moved by actually viewing it in the folder you just moved it to. But when I go into my settings, notifications tones and look for the file I just moved there...it's not there for me to select, but it is when I look at my file manager. I've tried this in the music folder, ringtone folder and notifications folder and they don't appear in the actual applications where I moved them to, but they appear in the file manager as being there. Am I doing something wrong. I don't understand why this is happening.

Motorola Droid X :: Picture Files Not Showing Up Folders
I downloaded a picture from the web onto my X. I used dropbox. The problem I'm having is I can see the picture when I go to phone files. I copy and paste from dropbox to my picture folder. The picture doesn't show up in the gallery. So just to be sure I copied the picture to a folder called background, its still not there in the gallery. Weird thing is when I go back to the phone files, and look for it. Its there in the gallery folder AND the background folder, but STILL not in the gallery! not sure whats going on there? I just want to make a picture a background thats all. It would be nice to just go into the phone files LONG press a picture and have the "Set As" option. This option only seems to be available in the gallery.

Motorola Droid X :: Files - Folders Missing In Explorer
I have a Droid-X and am having a peculiar problem. When I connect the phone to my PC with the USB, I try to browse the files on the "DROIDXRemovable Storage" directory, but only some of the files and folders are showing up. If I download and save a file on the device, it doesn't show up at all in explorer. I've even tried copying a file to the device from windows, and as soon as I disconnect and reconnect, the file is gone in Explorer even though it shows up fine on the device's file manager. Does anybody know why these files and folders are missing when I browse in Windows Explorer?

Samsung Galaxy S :: Deleted All Folders - Files - How To Recover
I purchased an unlocked and unbranded Samsung Galaxy S i9000 from Amazon. After playing around with it for some time, installing all sorts and getting to know how to use it I decided I would perform a factory reset to "clean" it before continuing to use it "properly". Before performing the factory reset I navigated to "My Files", selected delete, then selected every single folder and file and deleted them. I then performed the factory reset. Now I am missing 4 images which were available as wallpaper in "gallery" and probably several other files/folders. I thought the factory reset would return the phone to its original state and reproduce any folders/files I may have deleted in the process. I thought they might be stored in a hidden "partition" or similar which I had no access to. Anyway my questions are how can I restore my phone to its original state and which other files/folders would have been present initially but have now been deleted by me?

Android :: Writing To SD Card - Deleting Files On It - Number Of Files Relevant
I wrote an app that downloads web sites and all their assets (images/stylesheets) to "disk" and therefore stores lots of small files on the SD card. Sometimes it fails to delete large amounts of files and afterward the file system is r/o. To analyze that behavior I tried to do the removal of the files by hand and then go from there. But that already failed. localhost:~ mkamp$ adb -d shell mount [.. some mounts ..] /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 /sdcard vfat rw,dirsync,nosuid,nodev,noexec,uid=1000,gid=1000,fmask=0711,dmask=0700,codepage=cp437,iocharset=iso8859-1,utf8 0 0 --> R/W Last login: Wed Mar 18 19:41:49 on ttys005 localhost:~ mkamp$ adb -d shell rm /sdcard/newsrob/a* [.. minutes of silent deletes ..] rm failed for /sdcard/newsrob/a2aade03616c28b30_113.png, Read-only file system localhost:~ mkamp$ localhost:~ mkamp$ adb -d shell mount [.. some mounts ..] /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 /sdcard vfat ro,dirsync,nosuid,nodev,noexec,uid=1000,gid=1000,fmask=0711,dmask=0700,codepage=cp437,iocharset=iso8859-1,utf8 0 0 --> R/O now The log contained nothing but the usual gc output and random WiFi status changed mumbo jumbo. Anybody else seeing this behavior? There were 6.500 files in that directory. Might that be the problem? I don't access the files with queries, I always have the exact name.

HTC Incredible :: Custom Boot Animation / Adding Files
I followed all the instructions on the other really long thread. I am having one issue though. I installed SDK and the drivers, that all went perfect. The only issue I am having is with the actual bootanimation.zip. I am thoroughly stuck. After I download a bootanimation.zip it shows up in winrar with 4 files (loading, eye, android, and the desc.txt) I know it has to go in tools. I am just not sure how? Do I add each folder or is there a way to add them all? I also know the name has to be bootanimation.zip. I tried a few different ways and pushed it to my Inc. But I cant get it to boot with the animation.

HTC Wildfire :: Put Stuff On SD Card Over WiFi?
I've only had my HTC Wildfire a few days but it seems like the phone I've been wishing for. One question though - I'd like to put stuff on the SD card over WiFi - rather than plugging in the lead. Is this possible? I know it can be done as Tune Sync does it - but this maybe an exception. It's on the same network as the Wildfire can get out I just want to be able to see it from my Windows 7 PC.

Android :: Adding Bookmark To Saved HTML Files In Browser
I wanted to be able to use my Google bookmarks on my Droid. I found a program that imports them to the phone, but it replaces everything and I didn't want all those bookmarks in my browser. I exported my Google bookmarks to a HTML file and stored it on my SD card in the download folder and named it bookmarks.htm. I then went into the Droid browser and typed the following URL: content://com.android.htmlfileprovider/sdcard/download/bookmarks.htm I then created a bookmark of the link. Now, I open my browser, click on the bookmark, and all my Google Bookmark sites are displayed as links in order listed under their categories.

Phone's relatively new so I don't care about the existing photos and whatnot and do I create specific folders myself i.e. mp3, pics, etc.

Motorola Droid :: Cleaning Up SD Card / Leftover Folders From Uninstalled Apps
Anyone know if there is an app (or PC program) that will scan the SD card and determine what folders are no longer needed that are left over from uninstalled apps? I have installed/uninstalled tons of apps and I still see folders on the SD card from apps I know that I no longer have. I have deleted the ones I know are safe to remove but there are some with names that are a little less descriptive of what they were for. I know I could just google each folder name and probably figure each one out individually but I thought there might be an app for it.

Sprint HTC Hero :: Memory Card Swapped / Zip File With Stock Folders
Just got this phone last week, and besides the battery life I'm quite enjoying it. This weekend I was visiting some friends I haven't seen in a long time, we had a few beers and then got a bright idea. My friend has a work phone with an 8GB MicroSD card that he doesn't use. So, we swapped memory cards. Now I'm 4 states away and just now realized that I should have copied the folders onto the new card. Anyone have a zip file with the "stock" folders and info for these phones? I tried searching but it seems I have a rather unique twist to a common issue.
