I have a HTC Magic (Rogers Canada). And, I see how the Dream (G1) rotates the home screen. can the Magic do that as well? Also, anybody know if it's possible to rotate the screen to the right and not just to the left? Shouldn't the acceleromater detect all the different rotated modes (even upside down?). that'd be cool
Unless I have the keyboard slid open, the home screen doesn't rotate.Apps do, but the homes screen doesn't. I have the auto-rotate open selected in settings. Also, when in my car dock, everything shows in landscape except when I am in a call. The call still shows up in the portrait. It is kind of annoying and lame
Home screen used to do landscape immediate and always. Now it doesn't do landscape at all unless I slide the keyboard out and it pops into landscape immediately. Then when I close the keyboard it goes back to portrait even when I'm holding the phone in landscape. Not sure how to fix this, help please.
I just bought the Nexus One unlocked for AT&T and really like it. 1 wierd thing is that when I rotate the phone counter clockwise, the screen goes to landscape just fine; but when I rotate it clockwise it does not go to landscape "the other way". And, if I'm holding the phone 'normally' and rotate it 180 degrees ('upside down') it doesn't follow. My youngest daughter delights in telling me that her iPhone does this with no problem. What's up with that?
As we know, we can rotate a bitmap through 2 ways. The 1st way is: Matrix mt = new Matrix(); mt. postRotate (degree);Bitmap bitmap = CreateBitmap(src, 0, 0, w, h, mt, true); canvs.drawBitmap(bitmap, 0, 0, paint); In this way, we always need create new bitmap for every rotation, it is not good way for high performance game or app.The 2nd way is: canvas.save(); canvas.rotate(degree); canvas.drawBitmap(bitmap, 0, 0, paint); canvas.restore();In this way, we avoid creating new bitmap frequently, but the rotation bitmap is distortion, the bitmap quality is worse than first way.So, Is there 3rd way to rotate bitmap with high performance and good quality? Your any comments are really appreciated!
I've checked the "orientation" box in the "sound and display" settings menu, but the Home and Menu screens will not auto-orient when my X10 mini pro is rotated. It only works when the keyboard is slid open - applications don't seem to have this problem. This is a recent issue, probably in the last couple of days. i've tried reinstalling the software via PC Companion and SEUS, in addition to a "factory reset," but they haven't solved anything. Is there something wrong with the accelerometer or is it a software issue that can be resolved with the next software update (2.1)?
Just got my lovely new phone today but I can't get all the screens to rotate. The box that says 'Auto-rotate screen' is checked but, on some screens, nothing's happening. What am I doing wrong? Or does it only do it on certain screens?
My EVO screen won't rotate back to portrait from landscape. Auto rotate is on.That labyrinth game teeter doesn't work either, the ball only moves side to side not up and down.Everything is running crazy slow too.
I have a Motorola DroidX phone and since yesterday, my screen will not rotate.I've gone into settings, (made sure that 'auto-rotate' is checked).I've also powered down the phone, taken the battery outthen powered back up.Still no rotation of the screen.
Are there any 3rd party apps out there that rotate the screen 180 degrees? I can't seem to find any. Most times, I find it easier to use my Cliq if it is upside down (such as listening to music and charging.)
I was wondering if there is a way to turn down the sensitivity for landscape rotation. Sometimes when I just sit my phone down on my desk, even if I only turn it a little bit, it goes landscape. It's kind of annoying because then when I pick it up, I have to turn it landscape and back to portrait so the accelerometer picks up that I'm turning it. It seems too sensitive at times.
here is another 2.2 problem I am having, this one is kinda bothering me.I am using a program, need it to rotate horizontally, I turn the phone, nothing happens.I shake the phone, nothing.Shake it again, finally the screen rotates. If I start some apps with the phone upright, the app opens sideways.I turn the phone sideways, turn it back upright, nothing. It takes several tries before the screen rotates properly. Im sick of having to move the phone all over the place if I need it to rotate.
my mobile's accelerator has stopped working, so turning on/off auto-rotate feature is of no use to me. Is there any application or widget that manually rotate screen or at least gallery so that I can view picture in landscape mode. Go Launcher Ex allows to rotate homescreen and app drawer but doesn't rotate any application. I just need an app to view pictures in landscape mode.
is it possible to manually rotate the screen or fix the current screen orientation (with a key/button)? because it really annoys me having taken portrait pictures that cannot be viewed (with the media gallery application) in a portrait fashion on the milestone. this is because it always rotates the portrait picture back to landscape when rotating the milestone from landscape to portrait. right now there is no way of properly viewing portrait pictures on the milestone other than tilting your head (holding the milestone landscape and tilting your head along).this cannot be the way it was intended to be, right? or do I have to get a different viewing software which allows you to choose screen orientation? is there such an app?
Sometimes the screen auto-rotates when I don't want it to if I angle the phone slightly. I am constantly toggling it on and off. To do so of course, I have to go into settings, then display. Does anyone know of an app that I can add the toggle switch as a shortcut on my desktop? It is kind of a pain to go through the settings each and every time. I would much rather just hit it easily on my homescreen.
My home screen doesnt always rotate automatically. Sometimes I have to slide out the keyboard, slide it back, then turn the phone to vertical and sometimes that doesn't even work. I have selected auto rotate and it still does this.
My hero doesn't rotate in calendar entry mode.I thought it did last week when I purchased it.Has something changed or do I just remember wrong?I've been starting to get accustomed to entering events from the phone, but the keypad is too difficult for me in portrait mode. Is there a way to force it into landscape when doing calendar entries?
I can't seem to rotate properly an image on the entire screen. The problem is that when the image rotates, you can see the background in some areas. I want the image to fill the screen also when it rotates. Here is the layout.I start the animation in onResume. As I said, the image rotates but there are background areas when it does rotate. I've tried using images much bigger than the screen but still it doesn't do what I want. I don't care that outer regions of the image are not visible. I just want the rotation to fill the screen. I guess ImageView sets its width and height initially and then, when it rotates, it uses those dimensions. Is there a better way to do this?
My Desire; which i have had problem free for 3 months; has just developed a problem with the screen rotation. Initially it wouldn't rotate so i checked that it was set to automatically rotate in the screen and display menu which it was .
I then tried to recalibrate the screen which kind of worked in that it now allows the screen to rotate to landscape if held sideways, but when i put it the right way up, the screen stays landscape.
I have Swype which i thought might be interfering so i removed the program and rebooted but still nothing.
When I am responding to a text, the screen will not rotate. If I initate a text, it will rotate for me when I rotate the phone, but, when someone sends me a text, and I turn the phone to landscape to get the larger keyboard to send with, it will not change.I do have it set to rotate, as it will rotate if I try to do so when sending.Anything I can do about this? I've tried rebooting the phone a couple of times.
