So my birthdays and anniversaries in my contacts' info isn't syncing with the calendar that came with the phone. Is that right? I checked to make sure synchronization is on in the phone settings, but that didn't change anything.
I did a search but cant seem to find an answer. I finally got my work email set up through active sync. Is there a way to get the calendar events to show up on my google calendar? I use calendar pro which I love. I don't know if there is a work around or I am just not knowledgable enough to understand it. A for instance would be that my work email gives me an event or invite...it will show up on the phones calendar but not on my google calendar/events. (my google notification each morning may say "no events scheduled for the day" but phone calendar/calendar pro will show it)
I'm not sure if this is possible, my contacts are synched with my facebook profile which is great. Do you know if the DOB of a contact is synched with the calendar - I can't seem to see this and it would be really handy to have.
i can't seem to find a direct answer to this question, so i will post new. I'm using the original Droid from Verizon, with 2.2 (Froyo) installed. I'm trying to sync my contacts on my Droid with Outlook (Exchange). it sort of works, but not quite right. when i got my phone, i believe the guy at the store moved my contacts from my old Blackberry to my Droid (not sure). I now have duplicate entries in Outlook for all of my contacts; it appears that when the Droid syncs it creates entries in Outlook; but when i change or add entries in Outlook i don't see the changes on my Droid. all i want is for the contacts on my Droid and Outlook to be the same, and changes in one to affect the other.
I'm all about being able to link a contact to their facebook page which shows their pics, etc. However, I have only been able to link a contact to a facebook contact by entering their full name.I have many contacts that I have as nicknames or as Bank Erica, if it's Erica from the bank..Is there a way to link 'Bank Erica' to her actual 'Erica Bxxxx' facebook page? I would assume that you could use email to do this, but have not found a way. Please advise if there is something I am missing or if there is an app that fixes this.
Just activated new Droid X phones for me and my wife. Set up Gmail accounts and imported contacts and calendars from outlook 2007. Is there a way I can keep our contacts and calendars continually synched over the air?
How are you guys syncing your music for your phone?I tried doubleTwist but it autoloads every picture and video and music file on my computer onto the program and I only want a selected few. Am I doing something wrong? I need something like iTunes where I can drag my computer files and put them onto iTunes-->Phone.I am currently creating folders in my sd drive for music. I'm glad it can read different folders and files inside them! But there has to be an easier solution..
It seems neither the Facebook synced birthdays along with the birthday dates manually input into contacts profiles don't show on the calendar. Any quick way of getting around having to do this manually?
I have several hundred contacts and tons of calendar events on my Incredible. I have all of these on my gmail account which syncs with my INcredible. What is the best way to ensure that I never lose this information? I would imagine that it will always be on my gmail account??? If my phone were ever lost or stolen wouldn't it just be a matter of getting another phone and uploading from gmail to the phone? So, what is the best backup method out there for me? I am coming from a Palm Treo which I was able to sync with my desktop program.
I purchased my Captivate about 3 days ago, and for the most part I love it. Context: I was given a brand new SIM card for it I switched from a Blackberry Bold. The AT&T rep. tried using the machine that connects both phones and synchs contacts from one to the other, but it did not work. My question is: How do you synch contacts from a Blackberry to the Captivate? Before you answer, let me say that I do have a Gmail account and I know the Contacts app can synch with the account, but I do not store my friend's phone numbers on there - and I do not want to individually input each one. Also, I own a Mac and when I had my blackberry I did not back up my contacts on my Mac, and did not have Outlook to back them up onto even if I had tried backing them up - so I cannot simply export my contacts to .csv and load them up to Gmail. There is more I can say (for instance, it seems as if my contacts have been put onto my Captivate, but they're not in the Contacts App that came preloaded with the Captivate...they are, instead, in the folders section under Contacts...how the heck did they get there?!) but I will stop here and see if anyone can guide me through this very frustrating process.
Having all my facebook contacts who have their mobile nos on their profile coming up in my contacts and all the ones with their birthdays coming up in my calendar. Any idea how I can stop this because it's annoying having all this info I don't want amongst the stuff I do.
I have a question about the Calendar widget (the HTC one). I want to use the smaller of the widgets since I don't want the calendar to take up a full screen.
Is there any way to see more than one appointment without opening up the full calendar? You would think if you have multiple appointments in a day that you'd be able to flip through them from the widget, but you can't from what I can tell.
Anyone know how to fix the glitch between incredible's calendar and google's calendar.I've read a lot of the posts online and tried all the suggestions.I can post online at my calendar on google and it will sync with htc's calendar on my incredible.I can even delete the same entry off of my incredible and it will delete off of google's online calendar. The problem I have is nothing posted on the htc calendar syncs with my google calendar online.
I am trying to setup email on this phone for a user, i'm able to get it to download contacts, email in the Deleted folder, But it does not sync the Inbox folder.I have the same issue using the default software and using the Exchange Touchdown software.I'm sure some of you have gotten this work on droid, Any idea what could be my problem?I'm using Exchange 2003 by the way.
Whenever I got a new e-mail from someone on my Droid it would be updated within minutes. It seems like on the X it can take a few hours before it decides it wants to synch with my inbox. Is there a way to increase this frequency?
Am I the only one who is using the Daily Briefing preprogramed app on the fascinate? I like it but have never been able to get any of the 3 to synch up, even when I changed their settings to every 30 minutes. If there is another app that gives the same stock, weather, and top national and world news that DOES synch, I would love to know.
Ok, so, when I go to my contacts, I have a couple names like (ex.) Bob A. I decided to change it to my linked contact from Facebook so that it's Bob Apple. So I save every name and back out. When I turn off my phone later that night, than turn it on the next morning, the contacts have gone back to their original state (like Bob A.)
I went into the synch area of Windows Media Player and marked a bunch of my music file not to synch any more. So I figured on the next synch of my Droid X (Android 2.1) the corresponding files that were already on the phone would disappear. But they didn't. Shouldn't they? Do I have to go through and manually delete them one by one from the phone?I'm not sure Windows Media Player's approach to setting up a synch list makes sense at all. Is DoubleTwist or WinAmp less confusing?
I bought a phone today (HTC Wildfire) and I can't seem to sync it with my laptop. I'm using Windows7. Got it to sync with my laptop, but still I can't sync people and Calendar. The things I really need sync for.
As a recent convert from Windows Mobile with ActiveSync and Windows Mobile Device Center, I chose the Evo expecting HTC Sync to work at least as well to keep everything synchronized. I have since learned to be sure I have a fresh Outlook backup before I start, because HTC Sync has wiped out the calendar and contacts on my phone and PC before. I can usually get People and Calendar to sync okay now, but do the Bookmark and Gallery syncs work for anyone? I have both turned on, but never see any results.
According to the program, Gallery is supposed to copy my "device Camera shots to PC". "File will be saved to /My Photos/Device Camera Shots". I've searched my whole PC and don't have either of those directories anywhere. If I create them, will it work? If so, where should they be created? I have it set to "Sync all bookmarks from Firefox", but when I open the Internet app on the Evo, there are no bookmarks. The browser acts like it's Opera, but there is no Help/About to confirm that. Is there another browser that HTC Sync is copying them to?
I have a HTC dream with Rogers. After reading several posts I finally got to connect to my companies exchange server. When first connecting it showed synching email, contacts and calendar. Problem is that I see the emails and can answer no problem. But how do I access my exchange calender? Also when composing new mail or forwarding I don't have the company contacts available through exchange, I only have the contacts on my phone which comes from gmail. Is this normal? We are on exchange 2007
I have all my contacts in my googlemail account. When I go to settings/Accounts & Sync on my Desire, and sync, it seems to sync from the Desire to my googlemail page on my PC, but not the other way round - which is a problem for me because all the correct contacts are on my PC. It also tends to duplicate or even triplicate most of contacts. On the PC there is the merge setting, but not on the Desire. I've tried deleting all my contacts on the Desire, but syncing doesn't repopulate it.
I have all my appointments on my Desire calendar, which seems to only sync from my PC to the Desire. As I enter my appointments on the Desire, and would like to have them on my PC, this, too, is a problem.
Today, I managed to sync. my Lotus Notes calendar with google calendar (after 2 days of turmoil)Then the notes events were displayed on google calendar but 6 hours ahead (like GMT) thought both calendars were set on the same time zone (CST).At this point, the calendar pad widget synced with google calendar and displayed all my lotus notes events 6 hours ahead as in the google calendar.I then changed my google calendar time zone to GMT so that my lotus notes events showed the correct time .But now, the calendar pad widget still shows the old google calendar events that was 6 hours off even after syncing. Can some one please help configure such that my lotus notes , google calendar and calendar pad widget all show the same events at same time (hopefully, maintaining the same time zone settings for all)
