View 5 RepliesDoes the Incredible offer the full Exchange Support including Pin Lock, Remote Wipe without having to and get touchdown? That is the main thing that is going to keep me from getting it and staying with my iPhone.

I have used Blackberries, Palm Pre, WinMo all successfully with my employer, but Android just does not work! Ok, yes, I've been using TouchDown & it kind of works, but only with Exchange 2003 support running, ActiveSync will not connect. I know our policies require simple PIN & remote device wipe, so is that what is blocking me from using the built in client? I read somewhere that someone has some sort of patch they applied that tricks Exchange into thinking it is a different type of device trying for ActiveSync & bypasses the simple PIN & remote wipe. Has anyone heard of anything like this?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have been trying to get more information on what Android 2.0's capabilities are around its ability to sync with Exchange. My company requires PIN locking and remote wipe in order to sync, but it seems nearly impossible to find out of this is a supported feature within 2.0. Has anyone tried this with a similar set of Exchange policies that may have tested 2.0 or the Droid itself?
View 12 Replies View RelatedI know there's an EAS thread but I couldn't find a solid answer to this question - Does the Exchange ActiveSync implementation on the HTC Hero from Sprint support advanced security features of Exchange server mainly enforcing Pin Locking and enabling Remote Device Wipe via Exchange? I know iPhone does and the Palm Pre does after WebOS v1.1. I'm very interested in the HTC Hero but need to be able to connect to my corporate exchange server. It's a large company so I cannot have my device added to an exception list or anything.

View 10 Replies View RelatedIf you went and wiped cache only, not data, and installed a new rom, would all data remain? What exactly is this cache that nandroid wipes?
I'd like to install a rom for a friend but dont want to completley wipe his phone. I just want to install the virtuous rom, which is basically the stock 2.2 update rom and would like to keep all his data on the phone. would just wiping the cache work? I know some people just install without wiping but would wiping cache help?
And I know a wipe is always better, thats what I do on my phone. But its not mine and would like to save his data.
Im going to send my Inc in for a return.. Just curious if its possible to recover any data after I wipe the phone? Does the phone do a secure wipe or is the data still there just waiting to be overwritten?

Tried it this morning anyway, figured it couldn't hurt. Charged the phone, gave it a nice bump charge, and then booted into recovery and wiped the stats.
View 15 Replies View RelatedDoes using unrevoked 3.1 to root a DInc wipe the phone? I know that with old root methods on other droids (e.g., Droid Eris), that rooting required installing a custom ROM at the same time.So does unrevoked wipe the phone and install a custom rooted rom? Or if you run revoked 3.1, are you simply left with a rooted phone, that's still running the stock Android Sense 2.1?
View 6 Replies View RelatedSo I did the 2.2 OTA update yesterday and now it has screwed up my phone. My question is, can I wipe my phone and start over? Can I install 2.2 RUU? My phone has all kinds of bugs now, including but not limited to:
-Cannot get on the internet, browsers close after a few seconds
-Cannot get on Pandora
-Swype does not work, even after reinstall. I cant download new version because I cannot get on the internet because of the browser issue.
-Menu button no longer unlocks the phone This is awful, my android device is now just a phone.
what happens if you dont wipe the cache before installing a new rom
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am currently at 2.1 rooted, S-off, stock radio.I just flashed stock recovery over clockworkmod.I am wondering if it is possible to upgrade to 2.2 with the OTA and skip the wiping of data? View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to install [ROM] Uncommon Sense (v1.0) Release! - xda-developers and it says I need the full wipe!
Does that mean I have to wipe? the cache and data? The two options availabe for wipe in the menu? Also, I place the zip in the root of the memory card, yes?
I just rooted. I did a Nandroid backup and it saved it to my SD card. My question is, if I install a ROM that needs to do a full wipe, does it wipe my SD card too? Should I copy the Nandroid Backup folder to my PC beforehand?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI pre-ordered an Incredible and I plan to sell my Eris. I scanned through some posts and I see that there have been just a couple of short responses to this question in other forums, so I will ask the question here in the hope that it is useful to others. Question: for safety/privacy, is it adequate to wipe my Eris via the following method before selling it? Settings --> Security --> Factory Data Reset
Do I need to do more, or will this cover it?
I feel really dumb just asking this, but I don't want to wipe anything and I don't want a separate radio install. I'd like to get root, do s-off, and do one ROM flash or whatever that updates me to 2.2 and let's me get on with my life.
Someone linked to a ROM that said it was based on the real ota 2.2, but that doesn't make sense to me if you have to update your radio first and wipe your phone, when the ota doesn't require that.
Should I just try to flash without backing up stuff and wiping and hope for the best? I think I have a phobia of some sort here involving stuff with more than 3 or 4 steps.
added a quick demo video of our upcoming Android Infrared (IR) Remote.Initially it will support a full IR dbase of 300,000+ IR codes, IR learner for any code not in the dbase, Pre-Built GUI so it is simple to setup. Will add rs232, relays, and other tcp options also after initial release.

View 4 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know if there is a remote control (not app) for headphones that can control play/pause/volume? I listen to music at night and on long trips and it would be great to have something like this so I don't have to keep pulling out the phone. This would be the final blow to getting rid of my iPod once and for all
Alternatively, I wonder if there is a wireless one via bluetooth but that would kill the battery...
