HTC Incredible :: Poor Battery Life Due To GPS Bug

Aug 5, 2010

I'm trying to decide between the Droid X and the Incredible. I found this link in the Droid X forum, regarding a potential cause for poor battery life. Could this issue be plaguing the Incredible as well?

HTC Incredible :: Poor battery life due to GPS bug

HTC Incredible :: Bad Battery Or Poor Battery Life

Jun 23, 2010

My battery life was bad, but it was OK, but in the past few days my battery life is 10% per 30minutes(Just over 5 hours on a charge).I used to get 8-10 hours on a charge.I noticed last week that while it was charging the status of the battery was "Overheat".I think I somehow cooked the battery?I use TaskKiller and kill 95% of apps automatically, I have bluetooth, wireless,GPS disabled and the screen dimmed.I have not changed or installed any new apps.I have not changed the way I use the phone at all.My battery was dead, 0%, and it charged to 95% in about 45 minutes. Is this even possible? In fact in the past two days I have not gotten the charge above 95% at all.

Motorola Droid X :: Poor Battery Life With 2.2?

Oct 24, 2010

Has anyone else noticed much poorer battery life on the Droid X since updating to 2.2? I find my phone running low on juice much quicker now than it ever was with 2.1, even after rooting and installing SetCPU. I typically leave bluetooth, wifi, and GPS all turned off unless I am specifically using them, so I am not sure what is causing this battery drain.

Samsung Captivate :: Battery Life Pretty Poor

Aug 5, 2010

My battery life has been pretty poor to this point, so I have been going from full charge to completely empty. I was doing that today when my phone shut off because it was out of battery. I then went and plugged it in for about four minutes, then realized I needed something so I unplugged and turned it back on, and now am showing 43% battery! I figured it was a glitch with the stock battery display, so downloaded the BatteryLife widget, which confirms I have 43%. Does this mean I need to complain to AT&T to get a new battery, or a new phone? Update: I rebooted the phone again and was at critically low battery life. I reseated the battery and rebooted again, and now I'm at 5%.

Motorola Droid :: Poor Battery Life - Signal

Nov 26, 2009

I'm sure many of the "poor battery life" reports were pre-mature, as people didn't realize their new rechargable has to condition itself, but today I ran into a new situation. This is my second Droid, since replacing original, due to wanting to confirm a faulty antenna, and trying to solve the 3G->1x issue.

Reception at my house is a crap shoot, where moving my phone 6 inches on my desk make speed tests go from 1.5Mb to 300k. So today I'm at mom's, 2 miles away, and we are both equidistant from the VZ store, which is also 2 miles away. However at her house, I pretty much get (0) bars. I left my house with about a 95% charge, pulling it from the plug before I left. I used it maybe 15min to try to resolve her router issue. After 6 days, my battery was good for a at least 18-24hrs of light browsing and mail checking. Well today, It was down to 50% after 3 hours, while flipping back and forth from 3G ->1x. I had (0) bars most of the time and noticed that the battery was warmer than usual. Signal strength was between -95dBM and -110dBm. Now "almost" 5 hours after pulling from the plug, I'm down to 20%. If my hypothesis is correct, I bet the charge will last the night now that the channels have stabilized.

Sprint HTC Hero :: Poor Battery Life Or High Awake Times

Jul 12, 2010

For those that suffer from poor battery life or high awake times, I was given a code to enter that will give you all kinds of hidden info about the battery and what programs are running in the background keeping the phone from sleeping. Hit phone, as if you were dialing a number to call, enter *#*#4636#*#*, then talk. You will seee a menu come up that you can change to show you all kinds of hidden info on the phone and battery. Hope this helps some of you that are suffering poor battery performance and high awake times.

Motorola Droid X :: Poor Reception Area - Killing Battery Life - Disable 3G?

Aug 2, 2010

I am currently on a new client where it's constantly on 1X and occasionally switches back to 3G with 0 bars, then back to 1X. I got in to work at 8:30 am and by 5:00 the battery was at 30%. Battery Manager shows Cell Standby as 21% of the battery usage. I had about a 15 minute call this morning (presumably on 1X, I didn't check) and have not used the Internet at all for the rest of the day. This is obviously unacceptable. On my Droid Eris, there was a way to turn off the Mobile Network and use only 2G/1X for calls. I have researched and not found a similar option for the Droid X (Why would Motorola leave this out?) Does anyone know what my options are? I've heard you can go into the #*#*INFO*#*# menu and set it to 2G only, then restart, but that would be a pain to do every morning.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 :: Call Volume Low Fixed Asap2 / Battery Life Very Poor

Aug 10, 2010

so what if each of uses this thread to clearly state the problems that they are having with the X10, please don't go on about firmware updates etc as this isn't an actual problem, we all knew the firmware the phone was running when we bought it, so therefore I feel we have to accept that is down to us as we made the choice to buy the phone. Please be polite and concise and hopefully Jeff or someone from SE will take the time to read the thread and answer in due course, remember though it may take a little time for people to post the problems they are having and also for Jeff and co to find the answers for us.

please pop in and acknoledge the posts every now and then, just so we know our complaints aren't falling on deaf ears. I am hving problems with 1/ In call volume is very low and needs to be fixed asap 2/ Battery Life is very poor, I mainly only send texts at the moment as I cant hear calls and also use the ebook reader for maybe an hour or two a day, yet I have to charge the phone halfway through the day, even though I fully chatge it at night.....

HTC Incredible :: Poor Incredible Sound Quality - Poor Verizon Customer Service

May 26, 2010

I (like hundreds of others) have had a call quality problem with the two Droid Incredibles I purchased for my wife and myself when they were released on April 30th. Verizon recognized that there was a problem and replaced both devices with ones manufactured about a month later (5/02) and the same issue with poor voice quality continued.

We love the device EXCEPT for the lack of ability to understand callers. So, I asked Verizon to extend our 30-day opt out to give them an opportunity to work out the issues with this device. I just received a call from Verizon customer service (which I could barely understand) and was told they would not extend the 30 day period and my option was to live with the poor sound quality or switch to another device. Verizon has no other devices that were interested in at this time so well be canceling these two lines (and one other) and returning to T-Mobile. T-Mobile may not have the best coverage, but they do have great customer service, unlike Verizon.

HTC Incredible :: Measuring Battery Life

May 24, 2010

Just tested my battery (stock) vs my new battery (1750). I got about 4.5 hours running my stock battery down to 25% or so and I'm now at about 6.5 hours running the 1750 down to 27%. When people talk about measuring battery life are they talking about 100%-0% or are they just talking about just 100%-20% or so. This is really the only usable battery range because the radio turns off somewhere under the 20% point. I'm also thinking that my Seidio battery isn't working properly. It was kind of bent out of shape when I got it and felt pretty filmsy. I decided to give it a try but now I'm kind of thinking about returning it in the hopes of getting better life out of a new one.So two questions here what range are you all measuring your battery life through? and any chance that Il' get more life out of a new battery?

HTC Incredible : GSM Vs CDMA / For Battery Life

Apr 30, 2010

Based on this thread in another forum (2.1 users what is your Time without a signal %" [Archive] - xda-developers) I did both the Airplane trick and the following:

The problem is a bug in a lot of 2.1 roms out there now.
There is a fix:
1) Go to dialer, put in *#*#4636#*#*
2) Press Phone Information
3) Press Menu, and pick Select Radio Band (ITS NORMAL TO GET A FORCE CLOSE)
4) Go down and change GSM Auto(PRL) to CDMA Auto (PRL)

Both made my Juice Plotter (JD) increase in battery time left.

The big thing those it that I finally threw some widgets onto my desktop - namely You Tube, Google Search, and the Power Control thing. The power control is really nifty and makes it so easy to control blue tooth, wifi, gps. Are these going to kill my battery life?
