View 6 RepliesIs anyone else experiencing lag when using the phone dialer or when answering a phone call? When I go through my contacts and pick someone I want to call, I touch their name, and it takes a good 5-7 secs before it starts calling that person.Same thing when I receive a call. When my phone rings and I have an incoming call, when I swipe down, it'll take another 5-7 seconds after the swipe (since I guess this action lets you answer the call directly) before I am connected to that person.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI have gotten all haptic touch set to off so it no longer vibrates when texting, emailing or touch the 4 lit up buttons on the bottom BUT it still vibrates when I dial a phone number or when I call a contact from my phone book, I hit the number and it vibrates once as it rings
View 1 Replies View RelatedSeems to me you can't remove the haptic feedback on the phone dialer.I would hate to see that this is true, this is the best phone dialer I've had on an android device.
View 22 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to theme the htc dialer to look more vanilla? i'd like to try a vanilla rom, but the htc dialer just annoys me with the way it runs up against the white notification bar (with the rounded edges that go into black corners).

View 3 Replies View RelatedI don't know if it's from some app I installed or what. But I noticed recently that suddenly the volume rocker only controls the Media Volume or the In-call volume (if you're in a call), not the Ringer Volume. I don't have anything playing, so not sure why it's like that. I want it to default to ringer and I'll worry about Media when I'm actually in a program that uses it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy dad somehow changed his volume control, so it only affects the media volume. Any clue on how to change it back? Instead of Ringer Volume, it says Media Volume on the box that pops up when pressing the volume controls.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Incredible has appropriate volume for phone calls, but when I plug in my earbuds, to listen to podcasts, etc., the volume is much too low. Does anybody know of any way to increase the volume when using earbuds? I do have the volume key set all the way to high, but for music and podcasts it doesn't make it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedFirst of all, I love my incredible, but I'm afraid my in-call volume is very low. I've turned the rocker all the way up, and it's still very low. Speaker works great on the other hand. Anyone else having these issues, or maybe mine's just low?

I made a mp3 as my text message tone...its only 6 or 7 seconds long..but, the problem I am encountering is that when my phone is idle and my text message tone goes off upon receipt of a new text...I am finding myself using the unlock button to awaken the phone..swiping my finger on the screen to unlock the phone, and then going to the message icon to FINALLY disable the text message tone from continuing.
Is there a way for the phone to recognize that I am touching it, using the lock button on top of the phone or the volume keys..or SOMETHING other than having to actually wake, unlock, and enter the message area?
I'm writing an Android application that plays back voice mails using Media Player, which are just WAV files that have been sent to the device. When I play the file, it's played on the device's speaker, or else it plays through headphones if they're plugged in. What I want to do is play the file so that it sounds to the user as if it's at the same volume level as a normal phone call. Is there a way to route playback so that the file is played through the phone's ear piece instead of out of the speaker?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI noticed that with the 2.2 upgrade, a press on my bluetooth headset's button automatically starts the voice dialer. Is there any way to control this feature or change settings for my bt headset device? I found a workaround with app Call Confirm for now.
View 8 Replies View RelatedMy girlfriend recently bought the Incredible. She says the voice dialer app isn't very accurate, is there a way to train it? I had her go into the voice recognizer settings but the option to train it is not there as it was on the D2.She also says it doesn't prompt her for confirmation and she can't find the setting to have it confirm before dialing. Is there an option she's missing?
View 12 Replies View RelatedI synced my facebook account in order to have pictures for my contacts. Problem is, there are only about 50 people whose numbers I want in my phone. Not the all of my 400 some odd facebook friends. In the People app, I simply unchecked Facebook from the Menu>View screen to unclutter my contact list.

I haven't tried it but please report back how well it works.
I'm having an issue with the Voice Dialer on my Incredible. I'm wondering if other people are having this too...
Assume I have a contact entry "John Doe" with both a Mobile and a Home number.
When I speak "John Doe", if the dialer can't correctly pinpoint the contact name (eg: "John Doe" vs "Jane Doe"), then it correctly shows me all of the numbers for both people. However, if it correctly matches to the exact name ("John Doe"), then it shows me only the primary number for "John Doe".
It doesn't matter whether I say "Call John Doe", "Call John Doe at Home", or "Call John Doe on Mobile". In all cases I just get a single number offered.
The native voice dialer sucks. Is there a way to calibrate it?
Voice search works pretty well so I'm not sure why the voice dialer sucks for me. I've been using voice dial on feature phones for like 5 years and they all worked much better than this.
Is there anyway I can change the default dialer that is included in the ROMS? I like the vanilla dialer over the HTC one.

This literally happens to me EVERY time I try to use it, it didnt always do this so I'm not exactly sure when it started. I've done the normal reboot etc, does anyone have a fix/reset for this thing?
I have found the voice dialer to be very inaccurate compared to old LG Dare. Are there any fixes?
View 3 Replies View RelatedWe want to disable the default dialer application and install our own dialer application on phone. We want to know how we can disable the default dialer so that it doesn't listen for missed calls, incoming calls and also it doesn't gets launched by other application for making calls instead our application gets launched. Only our dialer application should be listening on it. We want to use same format as existing content URIs supported by default dialer in our own dialer application. Is this possible? If yes then how we can achieve it? We don't want to delete the call log application code or we don't want to remove it from build. We want to have default dialer in device. Our dialer application will be installed later may be by downloading from Internet by end user.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI'm not sure if it has to do with today's update but I have a pretty good idea it is. Whenever I got to ATK it shows many more apps 'open' than I specifically opened.
Say I opened Music and internet. Voice dialer, maps, and gesture search will have opened as well.
Well I use the Aloysius ROM and I'm liking it, but then I tried the ErisLightningBolt ROM and fell in love with the dialer/phone.Is there a way I can get that on Aloysius, like anything I can flash?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI got my HTC Desire delivered yesterday, but there is a slight problem I have noticed with it. Even after turning all possible vibration options off (i.e. haptic feedback and 'vibrate when you type' in text input), the vibratory mode on the phone dialer still doesn't go away. When I press the keys on the phone dialer keypad, it still vibrates. I have no idea whether it is a HTC feature or a problem with my handset.
